Almost every product in the catalogue is five per cent off a round-number MRP, which means the badge tells you nothing. The size does. Five different actives - niacinamide, retinol, alpha arbutin, salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid - are all Rs. 237 in a 10 ml bottle, or Rs. 23.70 a millilitre, but their full-size bottles are not level with each other. One hair serum halves its per-millilitre price when you size up. One hair growth serum saves you nothing at all: its 60 ml bottle is two paise a millilitre dearer than its 30 ml. And the catalogue's only deep discount, a 43 per cent badge, is measured against a larger jar's MRP. Twenty-five picks, every price and every size taken from the store's own feed. No ratings are published anywhere in it, so nothing here carries a rating pill and we have used none of it.

We read mCaffeine's own product feed on August 3, 2026 - 151 listings, 150 of them in stock with an image - and found that exactly one of those 150 rows carries a comparative MRP. Everywhere else the compare-at field is empty, which means no discount can honestly be calculated, and we have not manufactured one. What is left is the unit price, and mCaffeine sells enough of the same products in multiple sizes to make that comparison real. Twenty-five picks from Rs. 89 to Rs. 1,098, every one divided by its own pack size. The 15 ml perfume lotion is Rs. 8.60 a millilitre and the 600 ml bottle of the same lotion is Rs. 1.50. Two 50 ml face wash bottles cost Rs. 51 less than one 100 ml bottle. The pack of three body wash is exactly three times the single. And the 30-pair eye patch jar quietly saves Rs. 199 over two 15-pair jars, with nothing on either listing to say so. mCaffeine publishes no ratings anywhere in its feed, so nothing here carries a rating pill and we have not used any of it.

We read HealthKart's own category data on August 3, 2026 - 272 in-stock discounted listings across fourteen shelves - and converted every protein powder on it to one number: rupees per kilo. The result is a ladder that runs from Rs. 819 a kilo for unflavoured soy isolate to Rs. 7,936 a kilo for imported whey isolate, a 9.7-fold spread on products sold under the same word. Twenty-five picks in six chapters, ordered by that rate. Along the way: the seller whose pea isolate costs Rs. 38 a kilo more than its soy, the HK Vitals tub where the bigger pack is dearer per kilo than the small one, the isolate premium measured exactly at Rs. 1,003 a kilo from one brand in one pack size, and the women-labelled tub priced 57% above the same house brand's unlabelled one. Every price, MRP, rating and rating count comes from that feed. The feed publishes no protein per serving, so these are prices per kilo of powder, not per gram of protein - and we say so on every card.

We read Beardo's own Shopify product feed on August 3, 2026 - 512 listings, of which 405 are in stock and buyable today. Sorted by Beardo's own product categories, 147 of those are fragrance and 34 are beard products. Two scent names alone, Whisky Smoke and Godfather, carry 48 listings between them, more than the entire beard range. The discounting follows: the fragrance rack's median badge is 48 per cent with 73 listings at half price or better, while the beard rack's median is 20 per cent and its typical markdown is a flat Rs. 50 off a round MRP. Of the 73 listings Beardo published in 2026, 37 are fragrance and five are beard. Twenty-four picks from Rs. 199 to Rs. 3,900. Beardo publishes no ratings, so nothing here carries a rating pill, and every claim about what a product does is quoted from Beardo and endorsed by nobody.

We read Mamaearth's own Shopify product feed on August 3, 2026 - 926 listings, 585 in stock with an image - and found that not one of them states an MRP. There is no strikethrough and no percentage anywhere on the site, so nothing tells you whether a price is good. What the feed does carry is labels: 88 listings tagged OMG Sale, 31 Lightning Sale, 56 Mamaearth Offers. We checked those the only way available, against Mamaearth's own other listing of the same product. Six products turn out to be on sale twice at once at two different prices - the one-litre Onion shampoo is Rs. 1,244 and Rs. 1,549 - and on three of the six the sale tag is on the dearer copy. Of 40 multipacks matched to a same-size single, 34 cost exactly N times one. Twenty-four picks from Rs. 88 to Rs. 1,244. No ratings exist in this feed, so nothing here carries a rating pill, and every ingredient claim is quoted as Mamaearth's own.

We read Plum's own product feed on August 2, 2026 - 340 in-stock listings, of which 60 are gift-with-purchase or merch slots that you cannot buy on their own, including six priced at Rs. 1 and reading as 100% off. That leaves 280 buyable listings, and across them the discount is close to a constant: 10% is the most common band, the median Plum-branded single is exactly 10% off, and 33 listings carry nothing at all. So we ignored the badge and sorted by the two numbers Plum actually prints on the bottle - the concentration of the active and the millilitres in the pack. Doing that surfaces the decisions worth making. The 5% niacinamide serum is Rs. 509 for 30 ml; the 10% in the same size is Rs. 560, fifty-one rupees more for double the active. The 2% salicylic serum costs Rs. 22.50 a millilitre in its small bottle and Rs. 16.97 in its large one. And the deepest discounts in the whole shop are not on skincare - they are on BodyLovin' perfume. Twenty-one picks, organised by strength.

We pulled Beardo's own product feed on July 31, 2026 — 406 in-stock listings, 167 of them grooming products outside the fragrance shelf — and priced every product against its own other sizes. The discount badge turns out to predict almost nothing; the size you pick decides what you pay. A second bottle of Dandruff Control shampoo costs Rs. 51: one is Rs. 299, two are Rs. 350. A second bottle of Beer Shampoo costs Rs. 401: one is Rs. 299, two are Rs. 700, which is Rs. 102 more than buying them separately. The Anti Grey Hair Serum's pack of three costs Rs. 999 while its own pack of two costs Rs. 1,099. Two beard washes cost one rupee more as a pack than as singles, and the pack wears a 14% badge for it. The De-Tan Facewash is Rs. 299 in 100 ml and Rs. 299 in 200 ml. Beardo's feed publishes no ratings or review counts, so nothing on this page carries a rating.

We read 71 in-stock MuscleBlaze listings on July 31, 2026 across fat loss, pre- and post-workout and daily vitamins, and found the one shelf where a discount claim can actually be checked: every combo pack is also sold as its separate parts, at prices printed on the same page. So we subtracted. The eight bundles we seated save Rs. 199, Rs. 139, Rs. 129, Rs. 109, Rs. 100, Rs. 69 and Rs. 29 — while wearing badges of 33%, 23%, 22%, 17%, 43%, 21% and 12%, in almost the reverse order. The deepest badge in the whole read, 43% on a creatine-and-shaker box, resolves to a shaker costing Rs. 100. One bundle prices its fish oil at an implied Rs. 10.67 a capsule when the catalogue sells the same capsule at Rs. 9.32. Beyond the bundles, the same division does the same work: BCAA Gold undercuts standard BCAA Pro by 45% a serving, a 0.99 lb tub costs more per pound than the 0.53 lb tub of the same product, and Rs. 1,029 buys either 90 multivitamin tablets or 120.

We read 59 in-stock face washes, face serums, moisturisers and sunscreens from Nykaa's own listings on July 31, 2026, and the first finding was that the discount is not the story. The median badge is 10%. Twenty of the fifty-nine listings are at exactly 10% off, forty-seven are at 15% or less, and the deepest cut anywhere in the read is 37% — on a shelf that flat, waiting for a sale is not a strategy. So we compared price against identical printed claims instead. Three serums lead with the same 10% vitamin C and cost Rs. 449, Rs. 615 and Rs. 759, a Rs. 310 spread with nothing on the dearer cartons to explain it. Thirteen sunscreens declare SPF 50 or 50+ and run Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,620, eightfold, on a standardised measurement. Dot & Key prices three different face washes at exactly Rs. 224 and two different sunscreens at exactly Rs. 396. And every one of the 59 listings carried a real rating and review count, from 216 to 879,172 — so every pick here shows one.

We read 90 in-stock lip listings from SUGAR Cosmetics' own product feed on August 1, 2026 - lipstick, liquid lipstick, lip cream, crayon, gloss, oil, balm and liner, from Rs. 115 to Rs. 1,992 - and sorted them by sub-brand rather than by discount. The shelf immediately made sense. SUGAR runs four lip lines at four tiers: SUGAR POP from Rs. 115, SUGAR Play at Rs. 199-249, the core SUGAR range from Rs. 199 to Rs. 899, and SUGAR Mettle at Rs. 1,049-1,249. Every Play product we read was discounted between 50% and 58%. Fifty of the ninety listings carried a discount of exactly zero, and almost all of them were core-range flagships or Mettle - Matte As Hell at Rs. 899, Mousse Muse at Rs. 599, both Mettle lipsticks at full price. Waiting for those to go on sale does not work. The one genuine gap we found: the same Mousse Muse cream sits at Rs. 599 on its shade-picker listing and Rs. 249 on three single-shade ones. Twenty-one picks, organised by which line does which job.

We read 60 in-stock creatine, mass gainer, pre-workout and BCAA listings from MuscleBlaze's own category responses on July 31, 2026, and found the flavour-badge trick performed more cleanly than on any shelf we have audited. The 6.6 lb Super Gainer XXL sells at Rs. 3,049 in banana — 29% off a stated Rs. 4,299 — and at Rs. 3,049 in chocolate, 8% off a stated Rs. 3,299. Identical powder, identical price, a thousand rupees of declared-MRP spread manufacturing the badges. The 11 lb repeats it at Rs. 4,709 (27% vs 4%), WrathX pre-workout at Rs. 1,499 (20% vs 3%), PRE 200 at Rs. 639 (15% vs 4%). Meanwhile the honest numbers hide in plain sight: the size ladders price like commodities should (Rs. 504 down to Rs. 428 a pound as gainer jars grow), and on the creatine shelf — 4.5 from 19,436 ratings, the biggest crowd we have seen — the flavoured jars simply contain more powder than unflavoured ones at the same price: 320 g vs 250 g at Rs. 999.

We read all 70 in-stock baby and kids listings on Mamaearth's own site on July 31, 2026, and not one of them publishes a discount or an MRP above its selling price — so this page prices the jobs instead, in the middle of mosquito season. The mosquito job comes in five formats from Rs. 129 to Rs. 299, spanning a sixteen-fold per-ml spread: fabric roll-on for infants, skin roll-on at the same Rs. 129 with five times the volume, gel at the floor rate of Rs. 1.99/ml, no-contact patches at Rs. 10.40 each, and a spray that prices the pump at exactly Rs. 100. The bath shelf runs at a flat Rs. 1.25 per millilitre across every bottle, so the one-bottle and two-bottle systems cost the same. And the sunscreen shelf delivers the month's tidiest tell: 50 ml at Rs. 150, the twin-pack at Rs. 300, the 100 ml at Rs. 299 — the store's entire bulk discount is one rupee. The control group of the month: flat, tidy, strategy-proof.

On July 30, 2026 HealthKart's homepage banner read "Weight Management Range | Upto 35% Off". We read 57 in-stock listings from HealthKart's own category responses the same day, across the weight-management shelves plus the adjacent whey protein and health-food categories, and measured the distribution rather than the maximum. The median discount was 15% and the mean 18.3%. Twelve listings beat 35%, but seven of those were one product in seven flavours — so only six of 33 distinct product families cleared the banner's figure. Fifteen listings sat at 3% or less and eight at exactly 0%. The zero group is where all the evidence is: a whey rated 4.4 by 4,000 people, another 4.4 by 3,696, a third 4.3 by 937 — all at exactly MRP. Meanwhile the two deepest badges, 56% and 55%, sit on products rated by 120 people and seven. Divide by the weight in the name and the badges invert: four pack sizes of one whey run 0%, 11%, 11% and 12% off at Rs. 4,340, 4,595, 4,899 and 5,352 a kilo.

MuscleBlaze's homepage on July 30, 2026 read "Biozyme Range - Extra 5% Off W/code: BIOX". We read 71 in-stock listings from MuscleBlaze's own protein category responses the same day, and found something cleaner than any discount pattern this week. Eight flavours of Biozyme Performance Whey 4.4 lb all cost exactly Rs. 7,799 and all carry an identical 4.5 rating from 15,016 people. Seven declare a stated MRP of Rs. 7,799 and show no discount at all. One — Choco Crispers — declares Rs. 9,699 and shows 19% off. Same powder, same pack, same price, same evidence; the MRP is assigned per flavour. It repeats on Biozyme Whey PR, where two flavours at Rs. 7,599 split 21% and zero, and on Iso-Zero, where five flavours at Rs. 11,299 split 13% and zero. The badge only behaves on pack size: all three 8.8 lb flavours share the same 22%. Overall 23 of 71 listings sat at zero, the median was 10%, and the cheapest protein per kilo is unflavoured raw whey at Rs. 3,325.

We read 147 in-stock Dot & Key listings from the brand's own product data on July 30, 2026, and checked every compare-at price against every selling price. 146 match exactly. One listing in the whole read is genuinely marked down — a shower gel at Rs. 319 against a stated Rs. 399. What this shelf has instead of discounts is tiers: Rs. 395 carries ten listings, Rs. 495 nine, Rs. 595 eight, Rs. 249 eight, Rs. 599 seven. Eight of the twelve sunscreens cost exactly Rs. 595; five of the eight serums cost Rs. 599; four of the five lip balms cost Rs. 249, all stating SPF 50+. Inside a tier the price is silent, so we argued every pick on the formula. The sharpest finding is the pack maths: of nineteen pack-of-2 listings, fourteen cost exactly twice the single — Rs. 1,190 for two Rs. 595 sunscreens, Rs. 1,390 for two Rs. 695 serums. The only pack that beats its single does so because the tube is smaller. The discount lives at the cart: flat 15% sitewide, flat 25% on combos, extra 5% prepaid.
