Two Beardo eau de parfum bottles of the kind a Rs. 399-plus order would contain, shown as they appear in Beardo's own product photographs

Beardo runs a strip across its cart reading "Free Shipping on All Orders Rs. 399 & Above", and the cart's own Price Break Up module publishes two fee ladders underneath it. Prepaid orders ship free from Rs. 399. Cash on delivery orders between Rs. 399 and Rs. 698.99 are charged Rs. 99 - at the same order value the banner describes as qualifying.

We read beardo.in first-party on 6 October 2026. Below: both ladders in full, what the COD fee costs as a share of a real Rs. 449 product, the three bands the table does not publish at all, and the return and refund terms that make getting the order right the first time worth more here than on most sites.

📅 Update log:
6 October 2026 — First publication. Beardo's shipping fee structure read in full from the sitewide free-shipping strip and the Price Break Up module in its own cart: both prepaid slabs, both cash-on-delivery slabs, the "Calculated at checkout" note, and the three order-value bands for which no fee is published. The refund policy page was read alongside it for the no-change-of-mind rule, the 7-day damaged/incorrect/incomplete exception, the apparel-only size exchange and its four conditions, the 48-working-hour refund initiation and the 4-8 day credit estimate. Terms verified 6 October 2026.

The banner and the cart do not say the same thing

Beardo runs a strip across the top of its own cart reading "Free Shipping on All Orders Rs. 399 & Above". Read on its own, that is a single threshold with no conditions attached.

The cart's own "Price Break Up" module then publishes two ladders rather than one, and only the first of them matches the banner. Prepaid orders: Rs. 79 to Rs. 398.99 pay Rs. 49, and Rs. 399 and above ship free. Cash on delivery: Rs. 399 to Rs. 698.99 pay Rs. 99, and Rs. 699 to Rs. 1,990 pay Rs. 49.

So the Rs. 399 in the banner is a prepaid threshold. A Rs. 450 basket paid by card ships for nothing; the identical Rs. 450 basket on cash on delivery is charged Rs. 99 - at exactly the order value the banner describes as qualifying for free shipping.

Publishing a headline threshold and a fuller table in the cart is ordinary e-commerce practice and nothing here suggests otherwise. The point for a shopper is narrower: on this site the payment method, not the basket size, is what decides whether shipping is free.

Cash on deliveryBelow Rs. 399Not published
Cash on deliveryAbove Rs. 1,990Not published
On a basket between Rs. 399 and Rs. 698.99, choosing prepaid is worth Rs. 99 on Beardo's own published table - the difference between free shipping and the COD slab. Between Rs. 699 and Rs. 1,990 it is worth Rs. 49. There is no published basket size at which COD costs the same as paying in advance.

COD is dearer at every slab Beardo publishes

Line the two ladders up and the pattern is clean. At Rs. 399 to Rs. 698.99, prepaid is free and COD is Rs. 99. At Rs. 699 to Rs. 1,990, prepaid is free and COD is Rs. 49. The gap narrows as the basket grows, but it never closes.

On a Rs. 449 face wash - a real price on Beardo's own shelf - the COD fee is 22% of the product. On a Rs. 999 combo it is 4.9%. The fee is flat within each slab, so its bite depends entirely on where in the band an order lands.

Charging more for cash on delivery is common across Indian D2C brands and reflects a real cost to the seller; nothing on this page suggests the practice is improper. It is worth knowing because the charge appears at checkout rather than beside the banner.

Three gaps in the published table

The Price Break Up module is a ladder with missing rungs, and its own header is honest about where the answer actually comes from: "Shipping Fee - Calculated at checkout."

Nothing is published for a prepaid order below Rs. 79. The prepaid ladder starts there, so a very small order sits outside the table entirely.

Nothing is published for a COD order below Rs. 399. The COD ladder starts at Rs. 399, which may mean COD is unavailable under that value, or that a different fee applies - the table does not say, and we did not test it by building a cart.

And nothing is published for a COD order above Rs. 1,990. The COD ladder stops there. Whether larger COD orders ship free, pay Rs. 49, or are not accepted at all is not stated on the module we read.

In each case the practical answer is the same one the module gives: build the basket, choose the payment method, and read the figure at checkout before paying.

Why the payment choice is harder to undo here than on most sites

Beardo's refund policy sets a narrow return window, which raises the cost of getting an order wrong in the first place. "Products once delivered cannot be returned as cosmetic products are not re-usable due to hygiene reasons."

The exception is specific: "Products can be returned within 7 days from the date of delivery in case of damaged, incorrect or incomplete order is delivered. It can be done by writing to the support team (support@beardo.in). We would require the photos of the invoice & product(s) to further process such cases." Beardo adds that it "will not charge for replacements if wrong products (incomplete sets/ incorrect style/wrong/damaged products) are received by the customer."

Refunds, where they do apply, run on a stated clock: "Your refund will be initiated within 48 working hours of receiving the refund request and authorization of the refund", and the money is "estimated to be credited in the account, between 4-8 days after initiating the refund", going back "into the same account (online banking, credit card, debit card) that was used to make the purchase."

That last clause is worth pairing with the shipping table. A refund returns to the payment instrument used - which is a further small reason the prepaid route is the tidier one on this site, alongside being the cheaper one. Hygiene-based return restrictions on cosmetics are standard across the category and nothing here criticises the policy.

Size exchanges exist, but only on apparel. Beardo's policy states: "We offer size exchanges only for the apparel category", within 7 days, and sets four conditions - "Exchange is only allowed on the same product", "Product should be intact and unused", "Exchange will be allowed only once" and "Please ensure tags are intact". It adds that "Items can only be exchanged and not refunded."

What to do before you check out

Three practical steps, all of them from Beardo's own published figures.

First, pay in advance if you can. On the published table prepaid ships free from Rs. 399 and COD never does, so the choice is worth Rs. 99 or Rs. 49 depending on the basket.

Second, if a prepaid basket is sitting just under Rs. 399, check what it costs to cross it. Below the line the fee is Rs. 49; above it there is none. Adding an item worth less than Rs. 49 to clear the threshold is the rare case where topping up an order genuinely costs nothing.

Third, read the shipping line at checkout anyway. The module itself says the fee is "Calculated at checkout", three bands are not published at all, and a fee table on a D2C site can change without notice. The figure shown at your own checkout prevails over anything on this page.

Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every figure, slab, threshold and quoted sentence here was read on 6 October 2026 from beardo.in - the sitewide free-shipping strip and the "Price Break Up" module in the site's own cart drawer, together with its published refund policy page - logged out, in India, with nothing purchased, no cart completed, no order placed, no delivery taken and customer service not contacted; quotations and figures are reproduced as printed, including the site's own punctuation and band boundaries. A published fee table can be amended at any time and the module itself states that the shipping fee is "Calculated at checkout", so the figures described here may already differ from the ones that apply to your order - the amount shown at your own checkout prevails over anything on this page. No shipping fee is published for a prepaid order below Rs. 79, for a cash-on-delivery order below Rs. 399, or for a cash-on-delivery order above Rs. 1,990, and this page does not supply one or speculate about what applies in those bands; nor does it state whether cash on delivery is available at every order value, in every pin code, or on every product. The percentages quoted - a Rs. 99 fee as 22% of a Rs. 449 product, or 4.9% of a Rs. 999 one - are arithmetic on the published fee and illustrative product prices seen on Beardo's own shelf on the same date; they are not quotations and product prices change without notice. Reporting that a headline free-shipping threshold applies to prepaid orders while a cash-on-delivery order at the same value is charged a fee, that cash on delivery costs more at every published band, that some order values are not covered by the published table, or that returns are limited on hygiene grounds, is a description of published terms exactly as they appeared; setting shipping fees, charging differently for cash on delivery, advertising a headline threshold alongside a fuller table in the cart, and restricting returns on cosmetics for hygiene reasons are ordinary and lawful commercial practices across the category, and nothing on this page alleges misleading advertising, a dark pattern, unfair trade practice, deficiency in service, an unfair contract term or any breach of the Consumer Protection Act, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, the Legal Metrology Act, the Drugs and Cosmetics Act or any other law, rule or guideline by Beardo, by Zed Lifestyle Private Limited, by Marico Limited or by any associated entity, and no wrongdoing is alleged or implied. Statutory rights a consumer may have in respect of returns, refunds or cancellations are not described, limited or affected by this page, and nothing here is legal or financial advice. We did not place an order, select a payment method at checkout, take a delivery, request a return, an exchange or a refund, or contact support, so this page describes published policy rather than how any of it is applied in practice, and a buyer's own experience may differ. Product photographs are Beardo's own images as previously published on beardo.in and may be styled or retouched; they illustrate the kind of order this page concerns, are not offers, and the prices of the items shown are not stated here. No product on this page is assessed or compared for efficacy, ingredients or suitability, and nothing here is cosmetic, dermatological or medical advice.
