The discount on this shelf belongs to the old brands: across 21 legacy FMCG listings from Dove, Fiama, Pears, Nivea, Vaseline and Lux the median badge is 25 per cent, while across 20 D2C actives listings from CeraVe, Chemist at Play, Be Bodywise, Foxtale, Earth Rhythm and Nat Habit it is 10 per cent. Both groups rate almost identically, at a median 4.5 and 4.4. Every one of the 82 rows carries a rating, 21 of them above 100,000 votes and one above a million, and not a single product on the shelf rates below 4.0 - so the average separates nothing and only the sample size carries information. The deepest badge in the read is 40 per cent, on a Unilever body wash; the largest D2C badge is 18. Twenty picks, Rs. 195 to Rs. 569.

Beardo's homepage banner announces the Buy 2 Get 2 Free Sale — but the quieter story is what the products already cost before the mechanic kicks in: we read beardo.in's own product feed on July 25, 2026 and found the fragrance wall at 58-71% off (a four-pack of bestselling 50ml perfumes at Rs. 999 — Rs. 250 a bottle), the DON trimmer at Rs. 899, and one-box grooming kits — including a College Fresher Kit priced for exactly this admissions month — between Rs. 899 and Rs. 1,299. This edition applies one discipline throughout: per-unit maths on every combo, protocol honesty on every growth product (months, not days), and a flag wherever the B2G2F mechanic multiplies a pick instead of assuming it applies everywhere. Four chapters: the fragrance wall, beard and growth, hair and hardware, kits and cart-fillers.

We read 45 Croma trimmer, hair dryer and electric shaver listings on August 10, 2026 from the retailer's own product API and seated 20. Two things shape this aisle. The first is that Philips owns it: sixteen of the 45 listings are Philips, and its badges run from 3 to 30 per cent, tightening as the price rises - three per cent off a Rs. 43,549 shaver and a Rs. 19,449 hair dryer, 26 to 30 per cent on everything under Rs. 4,000. Two Philips listings publish the same product name, identical apart from spacing, at Rs. 21,599 and Rs. 43,549. The second is that almost nobody has reviewed anything: four of the 45 listings carry more than forty ratings and all four are hair dryers between Rs. 1,029 and Rs. 1,749, while thirteen listings carry no rating at all and twenty-one carry between one and five. Every listing badged above 50 per cent - including two Dreame dryers claiming Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 44,999 - has no rating history whatsoever. Twenty picks, Rs. 479 to Rs. 43,549.

We read 285 AJIO beauty listings on August 11, 2026 from the retailer's own listing data across skincare, makeup, fragrance and general beauty, and seated 20. On this shelf the discount is set per brand rather than per product. Every one of Minimalist's seven rows is exactly 5 per cent off. All eight Beauty of Joseon rows are exactly 15, all four Pilgrim rows exactly 25, all four MOXIE rows exactly 10 and all four Wet n Wild rows exactly 80. Seventy-three per cent of the 285 rows sit on a round multiple of five. The aisle predicts the badge better than the product does: skincare's median discount was 13 per cent and fragrance's was 48, and one brand sold a grooming kit at 38 per cent and a perfume at 61 on the same morning. Not one listing in the entire read carries a rating, so there are no rating pills on this page. Twenty picks, Rs. 90 to Rs. 1,275.

We read beardo.in's own product feed on August 11, 2026 - 524 live handles - and seated 20. On this catalogue the multipack is the discount. The same 50ml anti-grey serum costs Rs. 699 a bottle bought alone, Rs. 550 a bottle in a two-pack and Rs. 333 a bottle in a three-pack, with badges climbing from 13 per cent to 58 as the stated MRP multiplies alongside the quantity. The three-pack even costs Rs. 100 less in total than the two-pack. The same shape repeats on the growth serum, where the per-bottle price falls from Rs. 599 to Rs. 333, on an anti-dandruff shampoo whose second bottle effectively costs Rs. 51, and on an SPF 60 sunscreen that drops Rs. 99 a tube. One ladder runs the other way: a hair serum three-pack at Rs. 799 works out at Rs. 266 a bottle against Rs. 249 for singles, so the pack with the badge on it costs Rs. 52 more. Twenty picks, Rs. 199 to Rs. 1,499.

We read 126 Myntra makeup, skincare and perfume listings on August 11, 2026 from the retailer's own listing data across four listing pages, and seated 24. This is the best-evidenced wall we have read: 113 of the 126 rows carry a rating and they hold 1,835,448 votes between them, five listings above a hundred thousand each. The badge sits at the opposite end of that wall from the crowd. The 42 rows carrying ten thousand ratings or more have a median discount of 18.5 per cent. The 28 rows badged 50 per cent or deeper have a median of 63 ratings. The eight deepest badges in the read are one set of lipsticks split into eight shade-combination listings sharing 170 votes between them, against 122,963 on a single moisturiser. The pattern is a median rather than a law, and we seat its exceptions too - a Rs. 97 perfume at 72 per cent off carries 63,826 ratings. Seventeen rows carry no discount at all. Twenty-four picks, Rs. 97 to Rs. 2,750.

We read 33 Nykaa listings on August 9, 2026 from Nykaa's own catalogue across two queries and seated 18. The first thing worth saying is what is missing. Every badge on this page sits between 5 and 40 per cent, with a median of 20 - on a shelf where the smallest discount is three rupees off a Rs. 69 lip liner. A saree shelf this series read the same week ran from 65 to 81 per cent off. Cosmetics in India carry a printed maximum retail price on the pack, which leaves far less room for the invented claims that fill a marketplace, and a small badge here is not a worse deal but a more honest one. The second thing is the evidence. This is the best-documented shelf we have read: a Nykaa lipstick carries 4,283,115 ratings and a Maybelline 4,119,059, though both counts are pooled across every shade of the listing and we say so on the cards. Against those, two listings here carry 130 ratings and 10 - and the 10-rating one holds the page's highest score. Eighteen picks, Rs. 66 to Rs. 1,520.

We pulled Beardo's own Shopify feed on August 8, 2026 - 410 in-stock products - and analysed the 80 deepest-discounted rows. This brand has one price. Thirty-eight of those 80 listings cost exactly Rs. 999, and the stated MRPs above them run from Rs. 2,123 to Rs. 3,397, which means the badge on a Rs. 999 basket varies from 53 to 71 per cent depending only on what was claimed. Two four-perfume combos on the site claim Rs. 3,396 and Rs. 3,397 - a one-rupee difference - and both cost Rs. 999. Below that wall sits a second flat shelf at Rs. 699, where ten listings, nearly all 100ml single perfumes, sit at Rs. 6.99 a millilitre; the four-bottle combos above them work out at Rs. 5.00. So we ranked by the unit each thing is sold in: three 100ml bottles for Rs. 1,499 is Rs. 500 each, the cheapest bottle rate on the site, on the highest sticker here. Twenty-one picks, from Rs. 199 to Rs. 1,499.

We pulled Dot & Key's own Shopify feed on August 8, 2026 and analysed 80 in-stock listings. There is no sale. Every single row carries a stated MRP identical to its price - zero per cent off across sunscreens, serums, cleansers, moisturisers, toners, masks and lip balms - which removes the usual comparison entirely and leaves only the unit price. Priced that way the shelf becomes legible: a face wash is Rs. 2.49 a millilitre, a toner Rs. 2.63, a moisturiser Rs. 3.95 a gram, a sunscreen Rs. 8.90 a gram and a serum Rs. 22.45 a millilitre, which is the correct ordering for products used in handfuls versus drops. Seven sunscreens sit at exactly Rs. 445 for 50g, with the only exception the water-resistant one at Rs. 495; five face washes sit at exactly Rs. 249 for 100ml. The one place the tidiness breaks is pack size - a Rs. 295 cleanser looks Rs. 46 dearer than the Rs. 249 shelf and is 48 per cent dearer per millilitre, because the tube is 80ml. Twenty-two picks, from Rs. 99 to Rs. 550.

We read 50 Nykaa shampoo, face wash and lipstick listings on August 8, 2026 from nykaa.com's own product API, and every one of them publishes a price, an MRP, a rating and a review count - 18.2 million ratings across the shelf. Sorted by how each brand reaches India, the discounts separate into five clean tiers: Nykaa's own labels at a 40 per cent median, mass-market supermarket brands at 35, Indian D2C actives brands at 16, salon and professional lines at 15, and imported clinical brands at 10. The products do not explain that spread. A Cetaphil cleanser with 422,713 ratings at 4.5 is 11 per cent off; a Himalaya face wash with 153,649 ratings at the same 4.5 is 40 per cent off. The badge is describing a distribution channel, not a formulation. The evidence, meanwhile, sits at the cheap end - the four most-rated products here cost between Rs. 172 and Rs. 449, while a Rs. 1,280 bottle carries 86 ratings. Twenty-four picks, from Rs. 66 to Rs. 3,953.

Nykaa publishes something almost no other Indian retailer does: a star rating and a rating count on every single listing, and the counts are enormous. On August 6, 2026 we read 41 of them across shampoo, sunscreen and lipstick, and those 41 products carry 16,560,222 ratings between them - a lipstick alone accounts for 4,278,969. That is the largest evidence base we have measured anywhere. It also discriminates between almost nothing. Every score on the shelf sits between 4.1 and 4.8; 38 of the 41 sit between 4.2 and 4.5; and 31 of them are exactly 4.3 or 4.4. Five listings carry more than a million ratings each and the spread across all five is two-tenths of a star. Six sunscreens priced from Rs. 359 to Rs. 581 all score 4.3 or 4.4. A shampoo at Rs. 4,185 scores what a shampoo at Rs. 399 scores. Meanwhile the shelf barely discounts: the median badge is 10 per cent and only four listings reach 40. Twenty-two picks, every count printed beside its score.

Dot & Key prices differently from most D2C skincare brands — we swept its full 149-product catalogue on August 5, 2026 and found exactly one struck-through price on the site. The discounts are real, but they live in codes and cart offers, not stickers: the FLAT15 sitewide code, the deeper COMBO25 on combo packs, a free gift above Rs. 799, two above Rs. 1,099, and an extra 5% off prepaid orders. The combo packs are not themselves a saving — the twin-pack sunscreen lists at exactly twice the single — they simply move the cart into the higher code tier. This guide maps where each offer applies, why the site looks full-price when it isn't, and the checkout order that stacks the layers without one cancelling another.

In July, HealthKart ran one code across its Workout Essentials Sale: GETX, an extra 15% off. That is no longer how the site works. As of August 4, 2026, HealthKart has split the discount into seven brand- and range-specific codes, each capped and each valid on a different shelf — and GETX has been reassigned to TrueBasics. We pulled Dot and Key's own product feed on August 3, 2026 and got 149 listings, 148 in stock with images. Fifty-four are combos and 27 are gift-with-purchase slots, which leaves 67 single products at 21 distinct prices, from Rs. 249 to Rs. 799, and not one of them discounted. Our last read on this brand was about that. This one takes it as settled and asks what is left: if the price never moves, what do you actually buy? So the 22 picks here are arranged as a routine - cleanse, tone, treat, moisturise, protect - with each step priced so you can total it before you open a tab. The cheapest complete four-step comes to Rs. 1,488. Along the way: seven face washes at exactly Rs. 249, seven sunscreens at exactly Rs. 445, two moisturisers at Rs. 395 where one jar is twice the size of the other, and twelve of the brand's own bundles that cost, to the rupee, exactly what their parts cost bought separately.

We read Perfora's own product feed on August 3, 2026 - 99 listings, 92 of them in stock with an image - and instead of ranking them by price or discount we sorted them by the job you are hiring the product for: everyday brushing, sensitive teeth, whitening, powered brushing, cleaning between the teeth, fresh breath and children. Twenty-six picks from Rs. 158 to Rs. 3,499. Along the way we did the division the product pages do not. The smallest tube is not the cheapest paste per gram. The six-strip whitening pack is cheaper per strip than either fourteen-count. The battery toothbrush costs Rs. 150 more than the rechargeable one sitting below it. And every replacement brush head in the range, adult or child, is Rs. 449 - which is the number that decides the electric-versus-manual question far more than any handle price does. Perfora publishes no ratings anywhere in its feed, so nothing here carries a rating pill and we have not used any of it.
