TrueMeds suggests its own cheaper substitute beside many branded medicines, with a saving printed on it. We read 67 products across three of its shelves on 22 October 2026; thirteen carried such a suggestion with both packs' MRP, price and size published.

On all thirteen, that stated saving is computed against the branded pack's MRP - not against the price TrueMeds itself charges for it. Against the price on the same screen, the per-unit saving is smaller every time: 25.4% to 46.8%, median 37.5%, against stated figures of 41% to 50%.

All MRPs, selling prices, pack sizes and stated saving percentages read from truemeds.in's own product data on 22 October 2026, logged out, from India, nothing purchased. Thirteen substitute pairs counted; four possible denominators were tested against every pair before the finding was stated.

TrueMeds sells branded medicines and, beside many of them, suggests its own cheaper substitute with a saving printed on it. We read 67 products across three of its shelves on 22 October 2026; thirteen carried a substitute suggestion with both products' MRP, price and pack size.

On all thirteen, the stated saving is computed against the branded pack's MRP - not against the price TrueMeds itself charges for that same branded pack. Measured against what you would actually pay on the site, the saving is smaller every time.

Zincovit is the cleanest case, because both packs are 15 tablets. Its MRP is Rs. 107.67. TrueMeds sells it for Rs. 86.14. The suggested substitute, Zirkovital, is Rs. 53.84. Against the MRP, Rs. 53.84 is a 50% saving, and 50% is what the page states. Against the Rs. 86.14 TrueMeds would charge you for the Zincovit, it is 37.5%.

Both numbers are true; they answer different questions. The stated figure answers "what would I save against the printed pack price?" The other answers "what would I save against the other thing on this same screen?" — which is the comparison a reader is actually making when the two products are shown side by side. We checked all four possible denominators against every pair, and the stated figure matches the MRP-based per-unit one exactly on 13 of 13, and the price-based one on 0 of 13.

The size of the gap depends entirely on how much TrueMeds already discounts the branded pack. On Volini it discounts barely at all (Rs. 272 to Rs. 255.68) and the two figures are 3.2 points apart. On Hairbless it discounts hard (Rs. 640 to Rs. 428.80) and they are 24.6 points apart: stated 50%, actual 25.4% a tablet.

Seven of the thirteen state exactly 50%, and none states more. We are not going to speculate about why 50% is the ceiling in this sample; we are noting that it is, across pairs whose underlying per-unit economics range from 25.4% to 46.8%.

The actual per-unit savings are still substantial. A median of 37.5% off a repeat purchase is real money, and on Volini, Supradyn and the two Revital H packs it is above 43%. Nothing on this page says the substitutes are not cheaper. They are, on twelve of the thirteen pairs. The point is narrower: the number printed on the suggestion is not the number you would get by comparing the two prices in front of you.

And on four pairs the two packs are different sizes. Revital H Men is 60 capsules against a 10-capsule substitute; Revital H Women and Hairbless are 30s against 10s; Lactifiber is 180 g against 90 g. Comparing those pack prices directly produces nonsense — Rs. 526.40 against Rs. 46.67 reads as 91% and is 46.8% a capsule — which is why every figure here is per tablet, per capsule, per millilitre or per gram.

The pair where the substitute costs more

T Heal Capsule 10 sells for Rs. 318.20. The substitute TrueMeds suggests is T Heal Capsule 15 - the same brand, five more capsules - at Rs. 346.04. That is Rs. 27.84 more leaving your account.

Per capsule it is cheaper: Rs. 23.07 against Rs. 31.82, a 27.5% saving. The stated figure on this pair is 42%, reconciling once again against the 10-pack's MRP of Rs. 397.75 rather than its Rs. 318.20 price.

This is the clearest demonstration on the page that a per-unit saving and a till total are different questions, and that both are worth checking. Buying the bigger pack is the cheaper decision per capsule and the more expensive one today, and whether it is right for you depends on whether you will use all fifteen before they expire — which is not a question any percentage on a product page can answer.

What this page does not tell you

This is a price page. It is not medical advice and it is not a recommendation to substitute anything. We make no claim about composition, strength, bioequivalence, efficacy, safety, excipients, shelf life or suitability for any person or condition, and we have not compared any two products' formulations. Several items in this read are prescription medicines - the Systane Ultra carton carries an Rx mark - and some are nutraceuticals rather than drugs. Whether a substitute is appropriate for you is a decision for your doctor or a registered pharmacist, who can see your prescription, your other medicines and your history. Do not change a prescribed medicine on the strength of a price page.

Nothing was bought, dispensed or taken. Every MRP, selling price, pack size and stated saving on this page was read from truemeds.in's own product data on 22 October 2026, logged out, from India. Pack sizes are taken from the product names TrueMeds publishes; where a carton photograph states a different configuration from the listing name, the listing name is what we used, and we have not opened any box.

And it does not say the stated saving is wrong. It reconciles exactly, on all thirteen pairs, against the branded product's MRP measured per unit. That is a legitimate denominator and it is published alongside the price. This page only establishes which denominator produces the headline, so that a reader comparing the two prices on screen knows why their own arithmetic comes out lower. Frequently Asked Questions

What does TrueMeds' "Save 50%" actually mean?
It is the substitute's per-unit price measured against the branded product's MRP, not against the price TrueMeds itself charges for that branded product. We tested all four possible denominators against the 13 substitute pairs TrueMeds returned on 22 October 2026, and the stated figure reconciles exactly, on all 13, with the MRP-based per-unit calculation. It matches the price-based one on none of them. Zincovit is the clearest example: MRP Rs. 107.67, TrueMeds' own price Rs. 86.14, substitute Rs. 53.84, all for 15 tablets. Against the MRP that is a 50% saving, which is what the page states. Against the Rs. 86.14 you would actually pay on the same site, it is 37.5%. Both numbers are published by TrueMeds on its own pages; we are only pointing out which one the headline uses. Nothing here suggests the stated figure is improper.
How much do TrueMeds substitutes really save per tablet?
Between 25.4% and 46.8% per unit, at a median of 37.5%, measured against TrueMeds' own price for the branded pack. The stated figures for the same 13 pairs run 41% to 50% at a median of 50%. The gap is largest on Hairbless — stated 50%, actual 25.4% per tablet — because TrueMeds has already discounted the branded pack heavily, from an MRP of Rs. 640 to Rs. 428.80, so most of the "saving" against MRP is a discount you get on the branded pack anyway. The gap is smallest where TrueMeds discounts the branded pack least: Volini (Rs. 272 MRP, Rs. 255.68 price) and the two Revital H packs are within 3.2 points of their stated figure. All figures are TrueMeds' own, read on 22 October 2026 — check the live page before ordering.
Do the branded pack and the TrueMeds substitute always contain the same number of tablets?
No — on four of the 13 pairs they do not, and that matters for the total you pay. Nine pairs match exactly: Zincovit 15 against Zirkovital 15, Volini 75 g against Zirex 75 g, Neurobion Forte 30 against Benfivon Forte 30, and so on. Four do not. Revital H Men is a 60-capsule pack and its suggested substitute is a 10-capsule one; Revital H Women and Hairbless are 30s against 10s; Lactifiber is 180 g against 90 g. Comparing those two pack prices directly is meaningless — Rs. 526.40 against Rs. 46.67 looks like a 91% saving and is 46.8% per capsule. Every figure on this page is computed per tablet, per capsule, per millilitre or per gram for exactly that reason. You would also need to buy six of the 10-capsule packs to replace one 60.
Is a TrueMeds substitute the same medicine as the branded one?
We cannot tell you that, and this page does not attempt to. Everything here is price arithmetic read off TrueMeds' own published figures. We make no claim about composition, strength, bioequivalence, efficacy, safety, excipients or suitability, and we are not recommending that anyone switch from any product to any other. Several of the products in this read are prescription items — the Systane Ultra carton carries an Rx mark — and some are nutraceuticals rather than drugs. Whether a substitute is appropriate for you is a decision for your doctor or a registered pharmacist, who can see your prescription, your other medicines and your history. Price is the least important input into that decision, and it is the only one we are qualified to report.
Why does one TrueMeds substitute cost more than the branded product?
Because it is the same brand in a bigger pack. T Heal Capsule 10 sells for Rs. 318.20; the substitute TrueMeds suggests is T Heal Capsule 15, at Rs. 346.04 — Rs. 27.84 more to buy. Per capsule it is cheaper: Rs. 23.07 against Rs. 31.82, a 27.5% saving. The stated figure on that pair is 42%, which again reconciles against the 10-pack's MRP of Rs. 397.75 rather than its Rs. 318.20 price. It is the one pair in this read where following the suggestion increases what leaves your account on the day, and the only reason to do it is that you will use all 15. That is a useful illustration of why a per-unit figure and a till total are different questions.
