Amazon's mobile store has switched to Deals Revealed five days before the Great Indian Festival 2026 opens on October 8. Its tiles now print a festival price for 37 phones, from the Zeno 100 Lite at Rs. 7,199 to the Galaxy Z Fold7 from Rs. 1,29,999; two realme Narzo prices are still masked. We copied every figure on October 3, 2026 and checked each against the price on the product page the same day. The headline numbers: iPhone 16 at Rs. 71,999 including all offers against Rs. 86,900 today, Galaxy S25 Ultra from Rs. 84,999 against Rs. 99,999, and Xiaomi 17 at Rs. 59,999 against Rs. 89,999. Most festival prices carry an asterisk, meaning a bank, credit card EMI or coupon offer is already counted. This page has the full 39-row price list and 20 picks rated 4.0 or better where waiting actually saves money.
Croma's FAQ contains one paragraph that costs money and almost nobody reads it before financing a purchase. 'In case of refund, though the amount is credited back to the customer's card, the EMI closure will happen only after customer communicates the same to the bank... if customer fails to communicate the same to bank, the interest amount that bank will keep levying will be borne by the customer. For closure or any other charges, if any which are levied by the customer's bank, will be borne by the customer.' The refund landing on your card does not end the instalment plan — and Croma is clear that eligibility, tenure and refund rules are 'solely on the internal discretion' of your bank. Two more rules worth knowing: keep a bundled free gift after a return and its value is deducted, and an online order cannot be returned at a Croma store at all.
We read Flipkart's own payments and shipping pages on 3 October 2026. The sentence worth knowing before you finance anything: 'There is NO processing fee charged for availing Flipkart's EMI payment option. On return or exchange, interest charged by the bank till that time will not be refunded by Flipkart.' And the card is debited in full 'the day of the transaction', so the interest clock starts immediately. On cash: COD is capped at Rs. 50,000, is 'strictly a cash-only payment method' in Indian Rupees, cannot be paid with gift cards or store credit, and can vanish well below the cap because 'delivery partners have limits on the cash amount payable on delivery'. Plus the one carve-out in 'no hidden charges': delivery fees are per-seller, and the only published figure — Rs. 50, waived above Rs. 500 — belongs to a single named seller.
We read Myntra's lehenga and dupatta shelves together on 3 October 2026 - 66 listings - because the interesting number only appears when you do. The dearest standalone dupatta here is Rs. 672. The cheapest complete lehenga set - skirt, blouse and dupatta - is Rs. 999. Rs. 327 separates one piece of cloth from three, and nothing on either listing page tells you so. Every lehenga these pages returned is under Rs. 2,000, while stated MRPs run to Rs. 6,999. On badges, one brand accounts for five seated listings and states multiples of 1.89x, 4.63x, 6.98x, 8.35x and 10.03x in the same week - so we print the multiple on every card instead. Eleven of the 22 publish no rating at all, and half the lehengas are semi-stitched, which means a tailor's bill on top.
We read AJIO's kurta set shelf on 3 October 2026 - 158 listings - and divided every stated MRP by its selling price. The results cluster in a way list prices should not. Five seated listings from four different brands state exactly 4.76x, across a 3.1x price range: Rs. 419 against Rs. 1,996, and Rs. 1,284 against Rs. 6,116, both showing 79% off. Three more land on 5.26-5.27x and one on exactly 5.00x, and 78% and 79% are the two most common badge values in the whole read. AJIO's own house label states 1.96x. There is also nothing to check any of it against: not one of the 158 listings publishes a star rating or a rating count. So we compare the only way this shelf allows - per stated piece, where identical 3-piece sets run Rs. 178 to Rs. 528 each. Twenty-one seated.
Curtains sell in packs of two, three and four, so the sticker price is not the price. We read Flipkart's shelf on 3 October 2026 - 140 listings - and divided every one by the pack size it states. The cheapest curtain here is Rs. 123, inside a four-pack that costs Rs. 492 at the till; the cheapest curtain sold on its own is Rs. 142. Sticker prices span 9.9x across the seated set and per-curtain prices only 5.7x, and the order keeps inverting: a Rs. 726 four-pack works out Rs. 68.50 a curtain cheaper than a Rs. 500 two-pack. We also flag the evidence. Two listings display an identical 37,061 ratings - one review pool serving two sizes - and four seated listings publish no rating at all, none of them the cheapest in its group. Twenty-two seated, 5 ft and 7 ft compared separately.
Myntra Credit is where refunds, gift cards and top-ups land, and its rules are published in Myntra's own FAQ rather than anywhere obvious. The one that costs people money: expiry runs per credit, not per account. 'Myntra Credit has maximum expiry time of 1 year for refunds and top ups. For each credit to Myntra Credit, you shall see a corresponding expiry date... after that it shall lapse.' The only warning described is one email, a month ahead. It also cannot become cash, cannot leave the platform, is capped at Rs. 50,000 for top-ups while refunds keep arriving above the cap, and is always deducted before your card with no way to decline it. The one genuine upside is Myntra's own: a refund taken to Credit is not reduced by discounts you used, while a refund to your bank may be. All quoted verbatim.
We read Amazon's diya and pooja thali shelf on 3 October 2026 - 69 listings - and divided every stated MRP by its selling price. Most land between 1.13x and 3.79x, which is what an ordinary inflated list price looks like. Four do not: Rs. 171 against a stated Rs. 17,114, Rs. 279 against Rs. 27,900, Rs. 499 against Rs. 49,900 and Rs. 3,039 against Rs. 3,03,900 - three of them exactly 100.00x, each generating a 99% badge. A fifth states exactly 25.00x. None is treated as a discount here. The shallowest badge on the page, 11% on a 1.13x multiple, belongs to a lamp with no rating at all, while the two best-evidenced listings in the read are both in the 99% group. Diyas run Rs. 64 to Rs. 876; complete thali sets Rs. 999 to Rs. 4,090, compared per stated piece. Twenty-two seated.
We read Amazon's rangoli shelf on 3 October 2026 — 57 listings — and the price column and the MRP column are not the same kind of thing. There are 41 distinct selling prices and only 18 distinct stated MRPs, and one figure, Rs. 599, is printed by seven unrelated brands selling anything from Rs. 105 to Rs. 236. The five seated listings that share it claim 82%, 73%, 69%, 68% and 67% off — the exact reverse of their price order. There is a second thing the search results do not tell you: seven of the 20 listings seated here are stencils and template mats with no colour in the box, at the same prices as the powders. Every card says which it is. Evidence is thin throughout — one listing carries 3,838 ratings and nine carry under a hundred.
We read Tata CLiQ's bedsheet shelf on 3 October 2026 — 43 listings — and it behaves as two separate shelves with a clean line between them. Everything under Rs. 1,400 claims 30% to 75% off; everything over Rs. 1,700 claims 5% to 40%. One brand prints exactly 15% off on four listings at Rs. 2,209, Rs. 3,399, Rs. 3,829 and Rs. 4,249 — the price moves 92%, the badge does not move at all. The second finding is about evidence, and it is stark: ten of the 20 seated listings publish no rating whatsoever, and the ten that do carry sixteen ratings between them. The largest single count on the page is four. Stated thread count runs 100 to 400 and never tracks the price — a 210 TC cotton sheet is Rs. 1,399 and a 210 TC viscose one is Rs. 3,372.
We read Myntra's men's ethnic shelf on 3 October 2026 — 102 listings across kurtas, ethnic wear and juttis — and one brand makes the whole discount system legible. FAUSTO holds 40 of the 43 juttis here. Its six seated shoes sit inside a Rs. 500 price band, from Rs. 1,199 to Rs. 1,699, but carry four different stated MRPs from Rs. 1,299 to Rs. 4,499 — so the badges read 8%, 45%, 44%, 67%, 64% and 58%. One brand, one shelf, one afternoon: the badge tracks the printed list price, not the price you pay. The same pattern runs through the clothing. The deepest discount claim in the read, 84% off a Rs. 6,499 stated MRP, belongs to a kurta with no rating at all, while the single listing claiming 0% off is the dearest thing on the page. Samples run from 12,112 ratings down to six.
AbhiBus was running 33 offers on its own offers page on 3 October 2026, and six of them lapse inside the month. MAHA200 goes first on 15 October, FESTIVAL on 25 October, and NAVEEN500, NUEGOAB plus the Amazon Pay and BHIM cashback offers on 31 October. FESTIVAL is new - live from 2 October - and carries two conditions its title does not mention: the advertised 20% off is the new-user rate, existing users get 8%, and the offer is restricted to journey dates between 8 and 25 October, so booking inside the window is not enough. The instant discount is capped at Rs. 200 either way. NAVEEN500's flat Rs. 500 with no minimum spend is the largest instant discount on the whole page, though it is new users only and one operator. Two of the six are cashback and will not reduce what you pay at checkout.
MakeMyTrip publishes exactly which traveller reviews it takes down, in its own user agreement, and two of the five categories are not what you would guess. 'Reviews containing abusive or inappropriate language, personal attacks, hotel pricing details, comparisons with other hotels or OTAs, or statements that are controversial or disrespectful towards any religion are removed.' Pricing and comparisons are the two things a traveller comparing options would most want from a review. Three more clauses shape what reaches you: moderation is automated — 'powered by advanced AI technology'; a part-offending review 'may still be published with the remaining appropriate text', with no marker that anything was cut; and reviews in any regional language other than Hindi carry an English translation made 'using available online tools'. AbhiBus advertises a 150% refund and its own FAQ explains exactly what that means. 'Customers are eligible for upto 150% refund in case of bus service cancellation. While 100% of the booking amount will be refunded back to the source or mode of payment, the remaining upto 50% amount will be refunded back through UPI ID of the customer or through Non-Promo Abhicash... based on customer preference.' There are three other Assured payouts with three different rules, and one deadline that voids all of them: claims must be filed 'within 24 hours of journey end'. The delay clause is the generous one — past a two-hour buffer you get a full refund even if you travelled. The exclusions are blunt: Free Cancellation's own charge 'will not be refunded', and arriving late at the pickup point 'is not considered for refund'.
TrueMeds does something unusual: beside a branded pack it shows its own suggested substitute, with both prices on screen. We read its shelf data on 3 October 2026 and found ten such pairs. In four of them the substitute is a smaller pack - Revital H Women is a bottle of 30 against a strip of 10, Dolo 650 is 15 tablets against Cipmol's 10 - so the two sticker prices read 57% to 82% cheaper while TrueMeds' own published per-unit prices show 47% to 50%. In the six pairs where the packs match, the substitute is 31% to 50% cheaper per unit, which is a real saving. Ignore the badges: four substitutes state a higher MRP than the household name they are offered against - Fruitcee states 2.82x Abbott's Limcee - which is what produces their 60-80% figures. This is a price comparison only; substitution is a decision for your doctor or pharmacist.
