Located in the Jaipur city of Rajasthan state, the University of Rajputana now called the University of Rajasthan was established in 1947 just before independence. It is one of the oldest public and state universities, approved by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC). Uniraj offers various Certificate, Diploma, UG, PG, and Research courses across many disciplines through its Constituent and Affiliated Colleges.

Applications for admission to various UG and PG courses shall be submitted in online mode. The University of Rajasthan commonly known as Uniraj, admits students either based on the merit or entrance exam conducted by the University itself. The University includes 9 Faculties, 37 Departments, and 18 Research Centers.

Uniraj: Admissions

Admission criteria for UG and PG courses are listed below:

UG Courses:

  • Admission to the B.A., B.Com., B.Lib.I.Sc., B.V.A., B.Sc., B.B.A., B.P.Ed., B.Tech., and B.C.A. programmes is based on previous qualifying exam scores.
  • Admission to the L.L.B programme is decided by the results of the university's ULET test.
  • Candidates are admitted to the B.A. L.L.B. programme based on their result in the Rajasthan University's ULET test.
  • The marks obtained in the Rajasthan University Written Examination are used to admit students in B.P.A.

PG Courses:

  • Admission to all master's degree programmes is done through URATPG - University of Rajasthan Aptitude Test for Post Graduation, except for M.Tech and MBA.
  • GATE entrance scores are used to admit students in M.Tech.
  • Admission to MBA programmes is determined by PIM MAT scores.
  • Applicants for M.Phil. admission must apply for the UNIRAJ MPAT Entrance Exam.
  • Applicants for a PhD must have a valid score in one of the following national exams:
    • UGC (NET)
    • CSIR (JRF)
    • SLET
    • GATE
    • DST (INSPIRE)

The selection process is based on the results of the applicable Entrance Exam, followed by a Personal Interview.

Candidates must use the Rajasthan University Cutoff to see whether they fulfil their eligibility criteria once the results are published.

Uniraj: Facilities

Central Library: Central Library accommodates approximately 400 students. It has over 4.7 million books and bound periodicals, among other things. The Library has about 150 current journals and influential magazines on a variety of topics.

Hostel: Students will stay in well-equipped hostels at the university and its constituent colleges. Hostels are designated for specific courses or streams, as well as college campuses. The University currently operates 18 hostels, 13 of which are located on the Main Campus and the rest in Constituent Colleges.

Medical Facilities: Various pharmacies like Allopathic, Ayurvedic, and Homeopathic are located on the University Campus. Medicines that are absolutely necessary are provided free of charge. From time to time, medical health check-up camps are arranged. Students, students, staff, and their dependents are served by the Health Center, which provides curative, systematic, and preventive therapy.

Sports Complex: The university has a new sports complex as well as a swimming pool that has hosted several national swimming competitions. The university also has a fully equipped Gymnasium as well as a yoga centre.

Counselling Center: The university has a counselling centre to address the personal and emotional problems of the students.

Uniraj: Scholarship

University provides the following scholarships to Meritorious Students:

  • Daya Krishna Scholarship is offered to the first two position holders in the I and II semesters.
  • Shukadev Shastri Darshan Puruskar is offered to the first position holder in III and IV semester
  • Scholarships for PhD research work include JRF, SRF, Rajiv Gandhi, and Departmental Scholarships.
  • The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, has initiated a national overseas scholarship scheme.
