The ride is smooth and gearbox upshifts quickly keeping the revs and engine load to a minimum. This in return provides a good in-segment fuel economy and comfort.

How much is the SUVs water wading capability?

Jeep takes a battle head-on with the big players but cannot excel in every field every time. Water wading capability of the Jeep Compass is negligent when compared with big shots, for reference - even Ford Ecosport has 500 mm of water wading capacity.

Jeep Compass Trailhawk Interior Details

Technically there is no difference in the interiors of a regular Jeep Compass and Compass Trailhawk. But as soon as you open the doors of Trailhawk you will find red trim accents in the interior which go along the theme of the red-black paint job as outside. The quality of materials used inside is top-notch and everything feels soft and premium to touch.

How is the seating and Comfort inside?

Get into the driver’s seat and you will immediately feel the roominess of the cabin, with a wide front view. Seats are wide and deep which helps you accommodate in your desired comfortable position. Black leatherette seats stitched with red contrast thread gives an overall aesthetic appeal to the interior and color theme.

Rear seats are comfortable for three adults but planning a long road trip with the same, might become tiresome. The panoramic sunroof gives the cabin an overall increase of roominess with enhanced cabin feels.

Is the boot capacity offered good enough?

438 litres of boot capacity inside jeep compass trailhawk

Jeep Compass Trailhawk is a crucial choice in the segment where most buyers would prefer a 7-seater over this one. But, if you have a small family and don’t want to spend 30 odd lakhs in the car, Jeep will be the best bet. Typically a 5-seater Jeep beats the Ford in terms of cargo space which proves that bigger size is not always superior.

Jeep Compass Trailhawk Competition Check

Jeep Compass Trailhawk vs Toyota Fortuner

Grey colour Toyota Fortuner on hill

Toyota Fortuner is a very able off-roader that has a well-built body that can take a beating. Foolproof engineering from Toyota makes it a tension-free car. But Fortuners are known for its punishing body roll. Except for the front row seats, the rest are not so occupant friendly. Jeep Compass Trailhawk on the other hand, gives us a more polished and well-rounded experience, both on and off-road. The shorter wheelbase and rigid body make it a much better handler than the Fortuner. You are treated with a more powerful and robust engine, better fuel economy and a more premium interior for Rs. 6.8 lakhs less! The Compass is better of the two, hands down.

Jeep Compass Trailhawk vs Ford Endeavour

Ford Endeavour standing still in desert land

Ford Endeavour is a huge car, to say the least. The sheer proportions make the Jeep look like a much smaller car. But its not only about the looks, as it has got the power to complement its muscle. The robust and powerful engine never feels a lack of power. It has a better-built interior which is coupled with comfortable seats. It loses out on fuel economy but that is expected of a car that delivers close to 200 bhp. If you are willing to shell out an extra Rs 6.9 lakhs(yes, we know that it's a lot!), then you are treated with a much more powerful and dominant machine that will be well worth each extra rupee.

Final Verdict

The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is a very intimidating package. It combines power, handling, and features to provide a well-rounded package. In fact, it slots bang in between its competition. If money is a constraint, then the Trailhawk is a wonderful machine that is worth every rupee but if you are willing to shell out a few extra lakhs then the Ford Endeavour will give you an enlarged experience, literally as well, in all aspects.
