We read 41 sarees from Nykaa Fashion's own ethnic listings on 19 August 2026, priced from Rs. 700 to Rs. 3,015. Two listings thirty-five rupees apart explain the whole shelf: an Akhilam chiffon designer saree at Rs. 1,530 states an MRP of Rs. 8,999 and shows 83% off, while an Nyri bandhani georgette at Rs. 1,495 states Rs. 2,299 and shows 35%. The stated MRPs across the shelf run from Rs. 1,369 to Rs. 9,999 while the selling prices sit in a much narrower band, so the badge is measuring the seller's list price rather than your saving. Thirteen sarees are under Rs. 1,500. Thirty-nine of the 41 arrive with an unstitched blouse piece - fabric, not a garment - which is a tailoring bill the listing price does not cover, and three include no blouse fabric at all. Nykaa Fashion published no rating or rating count on any of the 41, so there is no crowd to check these against.

We read 47 Tata CLiQ listings on 19 August 2026, 32 of them sunglasses, priced from Rs. 720 to Rs. 12,231. The shelf sorts cleanly once you stop reading the badges as savings. Every Ray-Ban listing in the read sits between 10% and 30% off, on stated MRPs of Rs. 6,390 to Rs. 13,590, because Ray-Ban enforces its pricing across Indian retail. We read Myntra's own listing data across six men's footwear paths on 19 August 2026 - casual shoes, sports shoes and sneakers, two pages each - which returned 24 listings under Rs. 2,000 carrying both a price and a stated MRP, and seated 22 of them. The finding that shapes the page is what the badges are attached to. The two smallest discounts in the read, 2 per cent and 1 per cent, belong to SG's Savages and FUSION cricket shoes at Rs. 932 and Rs. 1,184, rated 4.3 and 4.5 by 800 and 863 buyers - because a cricket-equipment maker prices at the figure it actually sells at. We read SuperBottoms' own product feed on 19 August 2026, while the brand's homepage was running a Spin & Win strip advertising up to 40% off and free gifts above Rs. 999 - an offer-led week with no named sale event. 385 in-stock SKUs carried a struck-through MRP, priced from Rs. 49 to Rs. 4,813, and 305 of them sat at or under Rs. 999. Grouping the feed's 39 product types into the seven shelves a parent actually shops shows how little a single headline number means here: kids' underwear runs a 27% median cut and period underwear 41%, while padded underwear sits at a 4% median and never passes 10% off anywhere in the catalogue. We swept the live racks on July 23, 2026 and kept 20 machines that earn a slot: an Electrolux 10kg front-loader at 46% off (the event's genuine headline), Samsung's AI Wi-Fi front load, a 14-place Kelvinator dishwasher at 42%, the IFB tumble dryer that solves August outright, and the German dishwasher ladder priced honestly. Lenovo India's own deals page carried a Freedom Sale heading when we read it on 18 August 2026, and our homepage sweep the same morning recorded the sale running to 24 August. Ten deals came back with both a selling price and a higher list price: eight laptops and two tablets, from Rs. 28,999 for an Idea Tab with a pen in the box to Rs. 1,26,990 for a Core Ultra 5 Yoga Slim 7i. The badges run from 12 to 52 per cent, and that spread is explained by list prices from Rs. 86,490 to Rs. 1,89,991 rather than by how good any deal is - the Lenovo V15 and the IdeaPad Slim 3 sit at an identical Rs. 65,990 while showing 52 and 23 per cent off. Four things sit alongside the price cuts on Lenovo's page: FLAT Rs. 1,000 and FLAT Rs. 2,000 Freedom Sale cashback markers, an exchange offer, accessory offers from Rs. 499, and an extra 10% off sitewide for verified corporate employees - which on a Rs. 99,991 ThinkPad is the largest lever here.

We read Amazon's own search results across four charger and power-bank queries on 18 August 2026 and got 47 unique non-sponsored listings with a price; 25 are wall chargers under Rs. 2,000 and all 25 are seated here. Every one of them is rated at either 45W or 65W, and they run from Rs. 329 to Rs. 1,899 - a 5.8 times spread across two figures that differ by twenty watts. One pair makes the point: the same seller lists a 45W adapter at Rs. 377 and its 65W at Rs. 378, both claiming 81 per cent off a stated Rs. 1,999. That Rs. 1,999 figure appears on seven separate listings priced from Rs. 377 to Rs. 1,899, producing badges from 81 per cent down to five. What does move with price is the port count - single-port bricks from Rs. 329, dual-port from Rs. 660, triple-port from Rs. 1,218 - and whether a recognised brand stands behind the box. The best-evidenced listing in the read is not the dearest: it is an unbranded 65W combo at Rs. 649 with 6,813 reviews at 4.4.

We read Croma's own catalogue across three television queries on 18 August 2026 - 66 unique models with a price and a stated MRP, running as high as Rs. 141,990 - and seated the 21 under Rs. 30,000. The pattern is that the specification does not track the price. Two Croma 43-inch sets sit at exactly Rs. 19,990: one is 4K Ultra HD on Google TV, the other Full HD on Croma's own Coolita platform. Four thousand rupees above them, another Croma 43-inch at Rs. 23,990 is also only Full HD, and it carries the smallest discount badge in the read at four per cent. The other finding is how little evidence this aisle carries - the rating counts run from zero to 37, so the panel line and BEE star rating are the only things worth reading. The most sensible row on the page is the Rs. 19,990 4K Google TV, which costs Rs. 1,600 more than the dearest 32-inch set here.

We read Amazon's own search results across six printer and ink queries on 18 August 2026 and got 85 unique non-sponsored listings with a price; 45 are under Rs. 1,100 and 20 are seated here. The pattern is clean enough to shop by. Third-party compatibles are discounted between 50 and 89 per cent and their review counts run from 15 upward: one toner claims 89 per cent off a stated Rs. 3,999 on 87 reviews, while two sellers list the same 88A toner five rupees apart with badges six points apart. The row that settles it sits at Rs. 549, where amazon basics' Canon-compatible refill costs exactly what Canon's own bottle costs.

We read Vijay Sales' own television catalogue on 18 August 2026 - 27 models, from a SANSUI 32-inch QLED at Rs. 13,490 to a Sony BRAVIA 7 II 55-inch at Rs. 2,09,392 - and then checked every one of them against the 66 televisions we read from Croma the same day. On the national brands the two chains are not competing: four models appear in both catalogues at identical prices to the rupee, including a TCL 32-inch Full HD QLED at Rs. 16,990 and a Sony BRAVIA 2 43-inch at Rs. 47,990, while an LG NanoCell 55-inch differs by Rs. 100 and a Sony BRAVIA 2 55-inch by Rs. 500. Where the chains genuinely differ is their own labels. VISE by Vijay Sales carries the three deepest badges in either read - 46, 48 and 53 per cent off stated MRPs of Rs. 42,000 to Rs. 90,000 - and its 43-inch Full HD set at Rs. 25,990 sits six thousand rupees above Croma's own 43-inch 4K set at Rs. 19,990. The 43-inch shelf is where resolution changes: Full HD at Rs. 21,990 to Rs. 26,990, and 4K from Rs. 29,990.

We read boAt's own store on 18 August 2026 - 342 products in stock, 337 of them discounted at badges of 16 to 92 per cent - and the catalogue turns out to be built on price points rather than on products. Twenty-five items sit at exactly Rs. 1,099, twenty-two at Rs. 1,599, twenty-two at Rs. 1,499 and twelve at Rs. 999. Within a single price point the stated MRPs vary by three to four times: at Rs. 1,499 they run from Rs. 2,490 to Rs. 8,999, so the same Rs. 1,499 shows badges anywhere between 40 and 83 per cent. Smartwatches run Rs. 1,399 to Rs. 12,999 with a median of Rs. 2,199, and true wireless earbuds Rs. 999 to Rs. 5,449 with a median of Rs. 1,549. The useful consequence of the price-point structure is that at Rs. 1,499 your choice is between a 2.01-inch smartwatch and 32dB ANC earbuds - not between two similar things.

We read 155 Tata CLIQ listings on 18 August 2026 across three queries. The electronics half - earbuds, audio and accessories - runs Rs. 599 to Rs. 22,999 with a median of Rs. 1,999; the watch half runs Rs. 1,395 to Rs. 6,495 with a median of Rs. 1,995. Two findings are worth the trip. First, the deepest discount badges in the whole read belong to fashion-brand watches rather than electronics: five French Connection smartwatches sell at Rs. 1,949 to Rs. 2,469 against stated MRPs of Rs. 10,995 and Rs. 12,995, badges of 81 to 85 per cent, while specialist brands at the same price show half that. Second, we read boAt's own store the same day and matched one product: the boAt Airdopes 71 with 40 hours of stated playback is Rs. 1,099 at Tata CLIQ and Rs. 1,948 at boAt's own store, both stating an identical MRP of Rs. 3,990. That is Rs. 849 cheaper at the marketplace than at the brand's own site, before any coupon.
