Lenovo India's Certified Refurbished outlet quietly sells ThinkPads, Legions, Yogas and IdeaPads that Lenovo's own technicians have restored with original parts — at cuts running to 68% off MRP, prices inclusive of shipping and all taxes. We rendered the full outlet catalogue, threw out the duplicates and the desktops, and kept the 22 laptop configs that make sense: from a Rs. 30,190 IdeaPad door-opener to the ThinkPad X1 Carbon at half its Rs. 3.1 lakh sticker.
We queried Croma's own search service on 28 August 2026 for kettles, toasters, sandwich makers and hand blenders and got 70 listings; this page covers the 49 non-kettle ones, priced Rs. 499 to Rs. 5,995. Two of them share an identical description - Croma 800W 2 Slice Pop-Up Toaster with Removable Crumb Tray - and sell at Rs. 1,094 in green and Rs. 3,599 in peach, against stated MRPs of Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 5,400. They are separate SKUs and the listings publish nothing else that separates them; only the cheaper one has ratings. Across the shelf the badge tracks the brand rather than the sale: Croma's own label discounts a median 37 per cent, Philips 13, Shark Ninja a flat 14. Wattage barely predicts price - a Philips 900W toaster undercuts the 650W from the same sub-range - and only 21 of the 49 listings carry a rating at all, the largest count being 41.
boAt's direct store keeps a dedicated under-Rs. 5,000 earbuds shelf, and it is better stocked than the marketplaces let on: LDAC hi-res codecs, 48-50dB hybrid ANC and 120-hour batteries all appear well under Rs. 2,500. We pulled every live price on the shelf on August 28, kept each product's real boAt buyer rating, flagged which MRPs to ignore, and ranked all 18 pairs — from the Rs. 1,399 Airdopes Prime 412 to the Rs. 4,499 Nirvana Iris.
Raksha Bandhan gifting has a quiet failure mode: the showpiece that never leaves its box. So we swept boAt's own store on Rakhi morning, August 28, 2026, and kept 18 gadgets that clear one test — your sibling would use it every day. Earbuds from Rs. 899, calling smartwatches from Rs. 1,499, a 20W speaker at 80% off, a 140W soundbar for the whole household, and two power banks that out-practical everything else. Every price pulled live the same day, every pick with its role stated: best overall, biggest steal, best for the runner, best for the gamer.
We queried Reliance Digital's own product search on 28 August 2026 for keyboards, mice, power banks and routers and got 46 listings - not one of which carried a customer rating or a rating count. Two of them cost exactly Rs. 99: a wireless Dell WM118 badged 90 per cent off a stated Rs. 999, and a wired Lenovo 300 badged 83 off a stated Rs. 590. Same money, and the smaller badge is the one with the cable. Two Urbn power banks both sell at Rs. 1,299 with the same published specification - 20,000 mAh, 22.5 W - against stated MRPs of Rs. 3,999 and Rs. 2,999. Across the shelf the brands with checkable list prices discount least: Logitech a median 20 per cent, Samsung 13, against 55 to 90 on budget accessory lines. Excluding a laptop the keyboard query returned by mistake, prices run Rs. 99 to Rs. 5,860.
Croma rarely sells anything at one clean price - the gap between the sticker and what a prepared shopper pays is routinely 15-25%. This guide lays out the ten levers that actually move the bill: timing purchases to Croma's sale calendar, verified coupon codes, stacking bank card offers, exchange bonuses, earning and redeeming NeuCoins via Tata Neu, Deals of the Day, price cross-checking, no-cost EMI discipline, previous-generation buying, and gift cards - with the numbers verified on the Zoutons Croma tracker this week.
We pulled eight Myntra category pages on 28 August 2026 - socks, boxers, handkerchiefs, caps, men's vests, men's and women's T-shirts and women's tops - and 172 of the 274 listings sell at Rs. 500 or under, from Rs. 152 to Rs. 499 with a median of Rs. 390. Twenty-three of them carry no discount at all: the price equals the stated MRP, and they come almost entirely from brands with shops - Jockey, H&M, Peter England, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, U.S. Polo Assn., Decathlon. Those same 23 carry the heaviest customer evidence on the shelf, including an H&M cotton tee at Rs. 499 with 79,821 ratings. At the other end, 56 listings badge 70 per cent or more and every one belongs to an online-first label: Teakwood Leathers at a flat 70 across six listings, Imsa Moda at 83, and a BULLMER two-pack at Rs. 391 against a stated Rs. 2,998. Sort by rating count, not by badge.
We pulled AJIO's fragrance shelf on 28 August 2026 - 224 listings for perfume, deodorant and attar, every one returning a price, a stated MRP and an image, and not one returning a rating. Seated here are 25 of them, from Rs. 62 to Rs. 8,610, a range of 139 times inside one category page. The pattern that runs through it is not about scent: brands with real distribution discount shallowly and brands without it claim enormous savings. Layer'r discounts 12 per cent, Plum 14, SKINN by Titan 20, Wild Stone 25, NIVEA 35, Ajmal 44 - all brands whose stated prices a shop somewhere actually charges. SIORE and DEMI DIEUS claim 70, Bombay Shaving Company 64, and a Menjewell four-attar pack claims 87 per cent off a Rs. 2,999 nobody was ever asked to pay. At the top of the shelf a Rs. 5,445 Carolina Herrera carries a 10 per cent badge. Read the rupee price.
Three AJIO accessory searches on 28 August 2026 returned 124 listings with a price, a stated MRP and a badge: 43 sunglasses, 42 men's belts and 39 wallets, priced from Rs. 180 to Rs. 12,951 at a median of Rs. 869. Eighty of the 124 sell at or under Rs. 1,000, and the three categories behave identically down there - they bottom out within Rs. 20 of each other and badge 64 to 65 per cent at the median. The badge itself tracks the struck-through MRP rather than your saving: the 35 listings badging 70 per cent or more have a median MRP of Rs. 2,099 and sell at Rs. 606, while the 17 badging 30 per cent or less have a median MRP of Rs. 1,295 and sell at Rs. 999. Ray-Ban badges 10 per cent; a Zevora belt badges 90. AJIO publishes no ratings for any of these 124 products.
Uniqlo's LifeWear Week runs August 28 to September 3, 2026 — the global launch window for the FW26 Modern City Feelings collection, with an exclusive packable bag giveaway till August 31 and in-store events at standard stores and above. We went through the featured wall on the India store the morning it opened, pulled every live price, kept each item's real buyer rating, and picked the 19 pieces worth planning the season around — from the Rs. 6,990 Pufftech Parka to the Rs. 1,490 fleece tee with 189 reviews behind it.
Marks & Spencer India has opened its Autumn Drop — the new-season edit sitting at the top of the New In section, spanning womenswear, menswear, kidswear and lingerie. We went through all 60 items on the drop's rail, cross-checked every price on its product page, and kept the 18 pieces that make sense for an Indian autumn: the season's drop-waist dresses, a Stormwear rain-resistant bomber, a Bestseller-badged boucle polo, air-spun knit layers, and the baggy denim the kids' bracket is actually asking for — from Rs. 1,799 to Rs. 5,999, all at launch prices.
Myntra's list prices are a starting point, not a verdict - between sale-cycle timing, coupon codes, first-order and app-only offers, Insider early access and rotating bank discounts, the same cart can differ by thousands of rupees. This guide walks through the levers that actually cut a Myntra bill: timing purchases to EORS and the Big Fashion Festival, applying verified codes from the Zoutons tracker, wishlist-watching for price drops, free-delivery thresholds and coupon-and-bank stacking - with the offers we verified this week.
Five Myntra men's footwear listing pages on 28 August 2026 returned 75 shoes with a price, a stated MRP and a badge. Prices run Rs. 644 to Rs. 3,499 with a median of Rs. 1,132; badges run 1 per cent to 87 per cent with a median of 70. Sorted by badge, the shelf reads backwards: the 21 listings badging 80 per cent or more have a median MRP of Rs. 5,995 and a median price of Rs. 999, while the 12 badging 45 per cent or less have a median MRP of Rs. 2,499 and a median price of Rs. 1,749. A Red Tape sneaker is struck from Rs. 7,399 to Rs. 1,183; a Sparx runner from Rs. 1,549 to Rs. 1,471. The brands badging least - SG at 1 per cent, Sparx at 5, NIVIA at 25, Campus at 41 - are the ones you can price-check in a sports shop, and Campus NORTH PLUS carries the most ratings on the shelf at 26,548.
Three refrigerator searches on amazon.in on 28 August 2026 returned 46 unique listings from Rs. 11,990 to Rs. 53,990. Converted to rupees per litre the shelf splits cleanly: 15 single-door direct-cool models at a median Rs. 14,190 and Rs. 76 a litre, against 12 frost-free double doors at a median Rs. 26,640 and Rs. 112 a litre - a 47 per cent premium on every litre before capacity is counted. Three product lines appear at more than one BEE star rating, so the price of a star is readable directly: Rs. 500 and Rs. 800 a step on Haier's 190 L, Rs. 600 on Godrej's 180 L, but Rs. 2,270 on Voltas Beko's 183 L. The badges do not track the evidence - the best-reviewed fridge here, Samsung's 183 L 4 star at 4.3 from 4,560 reviews, badges 23 per cent, while one SHARP listing badges 99 per cent on an MRP printed a hundred times too high.
We read croma.com's 33 refrigerator listings and amazon.in's 46 on the same day, 28 August 2026, and looked for fridges that match on brand, capacity, BEE star rating and cooling type. Four do, and Amazon is cheaper on all four: Rs. 800 on Haier's 190 L 2 star, Rs. 1,300 on the 3 star, Rs. 2,300 on Haier's 240 L frost free and Rs. 3,700 on Samsung's 236 L. The gap widens with the size of the fridge. Croma's answer is its own brand - seven models Amazon does not carry, including a 185 L at Rs. 12,790 that works out at Rs. 69 per litre against Amazon's best of Rs. 73, and the largest single door in either read at 251 L. Croma also goes far higher, with six listings above Amazon's entire range and the only LG refrigerators either shelf carried.
