We pulled 25 Vijay Sales category pages on August 3, 2026 - 568 in-stock products with prices, stated MRPs and images, from a Rs. 499 kettle to a Rs. 309,990 television. Rather than sort them by discount, we sorted them by the number that actually governs a shopping list: the floor price of each category, meaning the cheapest thing the shop will sell you in it. Those floors are far more uneven than most people expect. Only eight of the 25 categories have anything at all under Rs. 2,000. Fourteen are reachable by Rs. 5,000 and 20 by Rs. 15,000. A microwave starts at Rs. 6,490, a refrigerator at Rs. 8,940, a fully automatic washing machine at Rs. 14,790, a tablet at Rs. 16,999, a dishwasher at Rs. 25,960 and a laptop at Rs. 39,990. We pulled Hammer's own product feed on August 3, 2026 and got 197 listings, 70 of them in stock with images. This is not a price story. It is a buying guide: 24 picks organised by product line - earbuds, over-ear headphones, wired and neckband, smartwatches, speakers and the small wellness shelf - and inside each line seated by the job you would actually buy the thing for. Gaming on a phone, taking calls on a street, a train commute, a day at a desk, a week of meetings, a room that needs filling with sound. The pattern that makes this necessary is that Hammer keeps putting two different tools at one price: the Airflow Go and Airflow Neo are both Rs. 599, one built for 40ms latency and the other for two call microphones. Two headphones sit at Rs. 1,799, one for a desk and one for a bag. Every specification quoted here is the brand's own, and where a listing states nothing - no earbud publishes an IP rating - we say so. more
We pulled Tata CLiQ's own marketplace search on August 3, 2026 across six kitchen queries and got 376 in-stock listings with a price, a stated MRP and an image. Only 163 of those showed a customer rating with the number of reviews behind it, and that became the filter: every one of these 23 picks carries both, quoted on the card. The page is ordered the way you would actually furnish a kitchen rather than by discount - the pressure cooker first, where the decision is capacity not brand, then the three pans that cook nearly everything a household eats, then the appliances in the order they earn their counter space, then the storage and carry kit nobody writes on a list. Rs. 149 for a gas lighter to Rs. 5,330 for a 19 L OTG. We name where a review count is only three or five people, we say which pick most readers should skip, and we check each discount against what that brand normally offers before calling it anything. more
We pulled Libas's own Shopify product feed on August 3, 2026 - 1,000 listings, of which 889 have no size available at all, leaving 111 a shopper can actually buy. Splitting those 111 by discount produced a result with no exceptions in it. All 47 discounted listings are missing part of their size run and 33 are down to a single size. All 64 listings at full price have their complete size run available, every one. So the badge at Libas measures how long a garment has been sitting there, not how good the deal is, and the only question that matters on a 79 per cent listing is whether the one size left is yours. Twenty-six picks from Rs. 299 to Rs. 11,499, including the fourteen discounted listings that still have every size, the twenty listings sharing one Rs. 3,299 MRP, and the twenty-six plus-size listings of which not one is discounted. Libas publishes no ratings, so nothing here carries a rating pill. more
We pulled Dot and Key's own product feed on August 3, 2026 and got 149 listings, 148 in stock with images. Fifty-four are combos and 27 are gift-with-purchase slots, which leaves 67 single products at 21 distinct prices, from Rs. 249 to Rs. 799, and not one of them discounted. Our last read on this brand was about that. This one takes it as settled and asks what is left: if the price never moves, what do you actually buy? So the 22 picks here are arranged as a routine - cleanse, tone, treat, moisturise, protect - with each step priced so you can total it before you open a tab. The cheapest complete four-step comes to Rs. 1,488. Along the way: seven face washes at exactly Rs. 249, seven sunscreens at exactly Rs. 445, two moisturisers at Rs. 395 where one jar is twice the size of the other, and twelve of the brand's own bundles that cost, to the rupee, exactly what their parts cost bought separately. more
We read Perfora's own product feed on August 3, 2026 - 99 listings, 92 of them in stock with an image - and instead of ranking them by price or discount we sorted them by the job you are hiring the product for: everyday brushing, sensitive teeth, whitening, powered brushing, cleaning between the teeth, fresh breath and children. Twenty-six picks from Rs. 158 to Rs. 3,499. Along the way we did the division the product pages do not. The smallest tube is not the cheapest paste per gram. The six-strip whitening pack is cheaper per strip than either fourteen-count. The battery toothbrush costs Rs. 150 more than the rechargeable one sitting below it. And every replacement brush head in the range, adult or child, is Rs. 449 - which is the number that decides the electric-versus-manual question far more than any handle price does. We read Minimalist's own product feed on August 3, 2026 - 77 listings, 71 of them in stock with an image - and found that the discount is not the variable. Almost every product in the catalogue is five per cent off a round-number MRP, which means the badge tells you nothing. The size does. Five different actives - niacinamide, retinol, alpha arbutin, salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid - are all Rs. 237 in a 10 ml bottle, or Rs. 23.70 a millilitre, but their full-size bottles are not level with each other. One hair serum halves its per-millilitre price when you size up. One hair growth serum saves you nothing at all: its 60 ml bottle is two paise a millilitre dearer than its 30 ml. And the catalogue's only deep discount, a 43 per cent badge, is measured against a larger jar's MRP. Twenty-five picks, every price and every size taken from the store's own feed. No ratings are published anywhere in it, so nothing here carries a rating pill and we have used none of it. more
We read mCaffeine's own product feed on August 3, 2026 - 151 listings, 150 of them in stock with an image - and found that exactly one of those 150 rows carries a comparative MRP. Everywhere else the compare-at field is empty, which means no discount can honestly be calculated, and we have not manufactured one. What is left is the unit price, and mCaffeine sells enough of the same products in multiple sizes to make that comparison real. Twenty-five picks from Rs. 89 to Rs. 1,098, every one divided by its own pack size. The 15 ml perfume lotion is Rs. 8.60 a millilitre and the 600 ml bottle of the same lotion is Rs. 1.50. Two 50 ml face wash bottles cost Rs. 51 less than one 100 ml bottle. The pack of three body wash is exactly three times the single. And the 30-pair eye patch jar quietly saves Rs. 199 over two 15-pair jars, with nothing on either listing to say so. mCaffeine publishes no ratings anywhere in its feed, so nothing here carries a rating pill and we have not used any of it. more
We read HealthKart's own category data on August 3, 2026 - 272 in-stock discounted listings across fourteen shelves - and converted every protein powder on it to one number: rupees per kilo. The result is a ladder that runs from Rs. 819 a kilo for unflavoured soy isolate to Rs. 7,936 a kilo for imported whey isolate, a 9.7-fold spread on products sold under the same word. Twenty-five picks in six chapters, ordered by that rate. Along the way: the seller whose pea isolate costs Rs. 38 a kilo more than its soy, the HK Vitals tub where the bigger pack is dearer per kilo than the small one, the isolate premium measured exactly at Rs. 1,003 a kilo from one brand in one pack size, and the women-labelled tub priced 57% above the same house brand's unlabelled one. Every price, MRP, rating and rating count comes from that feed. The feed publishes no protein per serving, so these are prices per kilo of powder, not per gram of protein - and we say so on every card. more
We read 160 in-stock televisions, soundbars, home theatre systems and streaming devices from Croma's own listings on July 31, 2026, and used screen diagonal — the one television spec that cannot be spun — as the unit of comparison. Croma sells forty-eight televisions at 43 inches, from Rs. 15,990 to Rs. 54,990: a 3.4x spread on an identical picture size. Then we held the brand constant instead. Samsung's UE81A is Rs. 30,490 at 43 inches and Rs. 43,490 at 55, so twelve more inches costs Rs. 13,000. Stay at 43 inches and move to Samsung's Neo QLED and the panel alone costs Rs. 24,000. TCL's V6C line prices its 50-inch and its 55-inch at the identical Rs. 34,990, which makes one of them strictly pointless. A Kodak 55-inch QLED at Rs. 29,499 undercuts Samsung's 43-inch LED by Rs. 991. And a 75-inch TCL QLED costs Rs. 500 more than a 55-inch Neo QLED. more
We read 55 in-stock laptops, gaming laptops, tablets, monitors and printers from Reliance Digital's own listings on July 31, 2026, and sorted the whole shelf by discount to see what sat at the bottom. Twelve gaming laptops carry a median badge of 7%; the other 43 listings carry a median of 23%. Seven of the eleven listings discounted under 10% in the entire read have a discrete graphics card in them, and six HP Victus 15 machines from one model line sit at 2%, 3%, 4%, 6%, 7% and 7%. Our reading is that a GPU is the one consumer-computing component whose price buyers check before they shop, which leaves a retailer no room for badge theatre. Where nobody checks, the theatre returns: the read's deepest discount, 54%, is on a monitor; three tablets at exactly Rs. 17,999 declare MRPs of Rs. 31,000, Rs. 21,999 and Rs. 19,999; and a Rs. 12,499 ink tank ships twice the black ink of the Rs. 13,999 one above it. more
We read 443 in-stock women's ethnic listings from AJIO's own feed on July 31, 2026 — kurta sets, anarkalis, sarees, salwar suits, dupattas and ethnic dresses from 81 brands, priced Rs. 81 to Rs. 4,234 — and counted how many of them shared a stated MRP. The answer reframes the whole shelf: 443 listings carry only 197 distinct MRPs. Fifteen garments from three unrelated brands all declare Rs. 4,345 and sell at anything from Rs. 455 to Rs. 975 — Rs. 520 of movement on a sticker that never moves, with badges falling from 90% to 78% as a matter of arithmetic. Ten more garments share Rs. 4,596, fourteen share Rs. 2,998, and on that last shelf a six-metre saree and a three-piece kurta set declare the identical MRP. The exception is AVAASA, Reliance's own label, which marks 22 of its 34 listings down by exactly 49% — a house rate, not a derived percentage. And the read's smallest badge, 15%, sits on a SOCH saree, because a brand with shops has a ticket price it actually charges. more
We read 382 in-stock listings from Nykaa Fashion's own category feed on July 31, 2026 — 81 westernwear dresses, 86 co-ord sets, 74 heels, 77 flats and 64 sandals — and sorted the discounts by label rather than by product. The badges stopped looking like bargains and started looking like policy. ELLE's twenty-one listings carried exactly five discount values across three categories: 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 per cent, and no other number. Mabish By Sonal Jain's nine dresses were all 59% or 60%. PIMU priced six different dresses at an identical Rs. 1,000 off an identical Rs. 3,999. Bata's were 2-5%. The shallow badges clustered on brands with mall stores and high streets; the deep ones on labels that exist mainly as listings. Read in rupees the ranking inverts: the cheapest heel among seventy-four is a Rs. 391 Bata at two per cent off, and a 72%-off sandal costs Rs. 317 more than a 3%-off one. We read Neemans's own product feed on August 2, 2026 - 648 in-stock listings with images. Two hundred and forty-five of those are sneakers, and we have covered the catalogue as a whole three times already, so this page is the other 309 products: flip flops, slides, sandals, slip-ons and loafers, organised by what you would actually wear them for. Doing it that way surfaces something the price cannot. Across all 309 there are only 28 distinct prices you can pay, and whole categories collapse onto one number - the mainstream slides all sit between Rs. 599 and Rs. 799, more than a dozen slip-ons sit on Rs. 1,299, and about a dozen loafers sit on Rs. 1,499 with stated MRPs running from Rs. 2,099 to Rs. 4,999. Two slides at the same Rs. 599 carry badges of 57% and 68%. Two loafers at the same Rs. 1,499 carry 65% and 29%.
