Equating Methodology in VITEEE

Steps to Calculate VITEEE 2020 Result

  • In order to examine the VITEEE 2020 result, the universities follow the equating methodology.
  • Since it is a statistical method, therefore, the VIT universities are capable of adjusting the score of the candidates.
  • The scores are taken in different formats in order to compare the ranking and the merit list of the aspirants.

Reasons for Using Equating Methodology

Since VITEEE exams are conducted in different slots of a day, hence, for adjusting the scores of the candidates, the universities follow the equating methodology.

  • Equipercentile equating process is used to find out the percentile ranks of the candidates. Hene, scores in terms of different formats (however in similar percentile) are categorised for similar ranking.
  • Based on the above point, it can be said that the percentile rank is referred to as the invariant and unique position of the test taker.
  • It is advised to the candidates that they do not need to assume their score or rank as per their own estimation on the raw score.
  • Since the computer-based evaluation method will be followed, therefore, no revaluation of answers will be applicable.
