There were 54, and they are not a random 54. Twenty-two of the twenty-three PlayStation listings were priced at exactly MRP, every capacity and every bundle. All six Sonos listings were at exactly MRP. Bose managed 0%, 0%, 1% and 5% across four. The most expensive item in the whole read, at Rs. 1,09,999, carries no badge. The deepest badge we found, 94% off, sits on the cheapest object we found: a gaming headset at Rs. 104. Three listings were priced above their own stated MRP, including a laptop at Rs. 96,990 against a stated Rs. 94,933. And the largest rating sample across all 197 listings — 181 — belongs to a Rs. 1,794 streaming stick, while a Rs. 54,990 console carries nine. Twenty-one picks. more
We read 131 in-stock Reliance Digital kitchen listings from the retailer's own product pages on July 30, 2026 — mixers, cooktops, kettles, air fryers, dishwashers, chimneys, refrigerators and washing machines — and grouped them by brand. The badge sorted itself. Median discounts: Philips 18%, Samsung 20%, LG 22%, Prestige 27%, Butterfly 31%, Havells 35%, Bajaj 38%, Kelvinator 42%, Wonderchef 50%, Kutchina 51%, Fabiano 65%. The mixer grinder shelf then gave us a control experiment: seven machines doing one job at Rs. 8,459, Rs. 6,849, Rs. 5,449, Rs. 2,399, Rs. 1,499, Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 1,329, carrying badges of 15%, 24%, 38%, 54%, 62%, 71% and 78%. The badge is close to a straight inverse of the price — and the 78% machine has 100 fewer watts and one fewer jar than the 71% one while costing Rs. 130 more. The kettle shelf repeats it for Rs. 549. Reliance Digital returned no ratings for any listing, so this page shows no rating pills. more
We read 71 in-stock Hammer listings from the brand's own product feed on July 30, 2026 — earbuds, neckbands, headphones, smartwatches, speakers, chargers, cables, power banks and electric toothbrushes. Seventy of the 71 carry a discount and the median is 76%, the deepest of any shelf we read this week. That is possible because only 23 distinct stated MRPs cover the whole catalogue, clustered on round numbers: Rs. 999, Rs. 1,999, Rs. 2,499, Rs. 4,999, Rs. 5,999 and Rs. 8,999 account for most of it. Each tier then covers unrelated products at unrelated prices. A stated Rs. 999 sits on charging cables selling at Rs. 199 and on a wireless neckband at Rs. 499. A stated Rs. 2,499 covers a neckband at Rs. 399, earbuds at Rs. 599, a speaker at Rs. 699, an electric toothbrush at Rs. 799, ANC earbuds at Rs. 999 and a 20,000 mAh power bank at Rs. 1,499 — badges from 84% to 40%. We read 233 in-stock Tata CLiQ listings across watches, sunglasses, wallets and fragrance from the marketplace's own search responses on July 30, 2026, then sorted them by whether their star rating had a review count behind it. Forty-three listings returned both a rating and a count: median discount 20%. One hundred and four displayed a rating with no count at all: median discount 40%. Forty of those show a flawless 5.0 with nobody behind it. The brands sort the same way — Casio appeared eleven times and every listing was at exactly zero per cent off, Titan's median was zero, Ray-Ban's and Seiko's ten per cent, against Timex at 60% across 37 listings and a French Connection smartwatch at 85% off a stated Rs. 12,995. Nine Timex iConnect watches share one price of Rs. 1,995, one stated MRP of Rs. 5,495 and one 64% badge, while displaying ratings from 1.0 to 5.0 with no counts. We read 167 in-stock Croma listings across air conditioners, air coolers, fans, purifiers and geysers on July 30, 2026, and 112 of them carried a rating with a real review count — so we ranked the shelf by sample size instead of by discount. Among air coolers with 40 or more ratings the split is clean: Croma's 14-litre personal cooler scores 4.7 from 57 and its 18-litre scores 4.7 from 41, while Symphony's HiFLO 40 scores 3.2 from 44, the Diet 35T 3.2 from 70 and the Diet 3D 55i+ 3.1 from 52. The products asked to cool one person satisfy; the ones asked to cool a room in Indian humidity do not. It is not a brand story — Croma's own 60-litre desert cooler scores 2.7 from 7 and its ECO ceiling fan 2.9 from 21. The median discount is 46%, a number that describes nothing. Split by brand it becomes clear: Sennheiser's flagship headphone is 26% off, Sony's ANC model 33%, JBL's headphones and soundbar 40% to 46%, TCL's soundbar 42% — all brands whose prices you can check against their own stores in a minute. Against that, Hammer's Bluetooth speakers are 70%, 83% and 87% off, boAt Airdopes 85%, Kratos earphones 81%, and televisions from Foxsky and NVY 59% to 69% off stated MRPs the Indian market does not support for those panels. Two GOVO soundbars sell at the identical Rs. 5,999 with badges of 68% and 67% — the only difference is which MRP each listing declares. more
We read 245 in-stock AJIO kidswear listings from the retailer's own search responses on July 30, 2026, then grouped them by brand rather than by discount. The pattern is hard to miss. RIO GIRLS appeared ten times and was 75% off all ten times. AARIKA GIRLS ETHNIC appeared seven times and was 60% off all seven. YB DNMX, KG FRENDZ and KB TEAM SPIRIT contributed 41 listings between them and used exactly two figures across the lot: 49% and 75%, nothing in between. At the 75% rate the checkout price is a quarter of the stated MRP to within a rupee, every time. The sharpest pair needs no interpretation: a Rs. 100 crop top badged 75% off sits beside a Rs. 101 T-shirt badged 49% off, same brand, same week — one rupee apart at the till, 26 points apart on the label. Meanwhile MAX used six different rates across nine listings and left one at full price. AJIO returned no ratings for any of the 245, so this page shows no rating pills. We read 91 in-stock Bewakoof womenswear listings from the retailer's own category responses on July 30, 2026, and tested the badge from both directions. Fix the price and the badge moves: ten garments cost exactly Rs. 699, with stated MRPs of Rs. 2,099, Rs. 1,599, Rs. 1,499, Rs. 1,199 and Rs. 999 — badges of 66%, 56%, 53%, 41% and 30% on an identical checkout price, thirty-six percentage points of spread for zero rupees of difference. Fix the MRP and the price moves: six garments state exactly Rs. 1,799 and sell at Rs. 429, Rs. 449, Rs. 599, Rs. 749, Rs. 799 and Rs. 1,399, a 3.3-fold spread producing badges from 76% down to 22%. Six more share Rs. 3,199. Because one MRP covers plain shorts, an oversized tee and a flared midi dress equally, it is a tier label rather than a price. The only comparison that held up came from the garments: a two-piece co-ord set at Rs. 809 is about Rs. 405 a piece, beating every single-garment pick. We read 255 in-stock Nykaa Fashion listings from the retailer's own category API on July 30, 2026, across menswear, womenswear, footwear, bags and jewellery — and the shelf turns out to be two shops sharing a search box. Seventy-three of the 255 carry no discount at all, and they cluster by label: H&M gave 33 listings with a median discount of 0%, The Souled Store 15 with a median of 0%, Nike eight with a median of 0%, and all five Jockey listings sat at exactly zero. So did a Polo Ralph Lauren T-shirt at Rs. 7,199 and a NILI LOTAN trouser at Rs. 63,599 — which is 57 times the shelf's median price of Rs. 1,120. The other shop is Indian labels on flat house rates: The Indian Garage Co, eight listings all between 58% and 70%; Mabish By Sonal Jain, seven all at 59% or 60%; CAHOOT median 48%. The best arithmetic on the page carries no badge at all — a five-pack of tees at Rs. 2,299, or Rs. 460 a garment. more

Eight came in at or under Rs. 799 — about seven per cent. Twenty at or under Rs. 999, twenty-five at or under Rs. 1,199. The median listing was Rs. 1,819 and the dearest Rs. 12,599, twenty-five times the cheapest. Five of the eight items in the tightest band are Gerua By Libas, a diffusion line rather than a reduction: 20 listings priced Rs. 679 to Rs. 1,399, of which 19 share one stated MRP of exactly Rs. 3,299 and sell at eleven distinct prices with badges from 79% down to 58%. Two blue yoke-design suits on that MRP, described in identical words, cost Rs. 729 and Rs. 1,119. At the other end Libas Art runs 16% to 47% off, and the Rs. 12,599 lehenga carries the second-smallest badge in the read. Three-piece suits work out at about Rs. 226 a garment. more

And then RED TAPE, which contributed 23 listings — more than any other brand — with not one below 80% off. Its stated MRPs run Rs. 7,699 to Rs. 12,099, the highest figure in the entire read, while its checkout prices run Rs. 1,540 to Rs. 2,420. We read 214 in-stock AJIO women's ethnic listings from the retailer's own search responses on July 30, 2026 — every one of them discounted, not a single listing at zero — and grouped them by label rather than by percentage. Two pricing conventions sit on the same shelf. AVAASA MIX N' MATCH, Reliance's own ethnic brand, gave 28 kurta and palazzo listings at exactly 49% off, one rate with no variation, which means its price differences actually describe the garments. Against that, Nyrika's 38 listings ran 70% to 93%, SVARAA's 34 ran 55% to 88%, and Popmantra sat at 84%. The deepest badge in the read, 93%, is on a saree selling at Rs. 280 against a stated Rs. 3,999 and described as Banarasi silk — at Rs. 43 a metre that fabric is a power-loom synthetic, and we say so. The designers never discount: Payal Singhal's 13 listings were all at zero, MALIKA GUPTA's 10 all at zero, JAYATI GOENKA's 21 all at zero, across prices from Rs. 6,360 to Rs. 53,000. Two contemporary labels use a single flat rate each — Soup by Sougat Paul, 24 listings at exactly 15%, and Nikasha, 23 listings at exactly 20%, with no variation in either. Eighty-one of them carry no discount at all — priced at exactly the stated MRP, nothing struck through. The seven that do use exactly two figures: three at 30% and four at 50%, with nothing in between. Across all 88 listings there are only 30 distinct prices, and two rungs are crowded: eleven listings at Rs. 4,299 and eleven at Rs. 6,599. The Rs. 4,299 rung is entirely kids' club jerseys — Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, Liverpool, Bayern and Arsenal, home and away, this season and last, all at one number. The rate is not decided by the price tier: one stated MRP of Rs. 2,995 holds 55 listings split across all five outcomes, and Rs. 5,495 holds 38 split four ways. What decides it is the colourway. The Classic Kids Clog in navy and elite blue costs Rs. 2,995; the identical clog in lavender, aquamarine and blue calcite costs Rs. 2,396 — same mould, Rs. 599 apart. The Crocband in white and black is Rs. 4,396; in charcoal, blue bolt and microchip it is Rs. 3,297. On licensed clogs the character does the same job: Superman, Pokemon, Minecraft and TMNT hold at Rs. 5,495 while Frozen Elsa is 30% off.
