Four labels from the same house carry four completely different badge depths — LUX INFERNO 46% to 58%, LUX VENUS 44%, all five LUX COZI listings exactly 10%, and both LUX COTT'S WOOL listings exactly 5%. One brand holds ten listings and prices eight of them in matched pairs off four stated MRPs. Two pairs of tiles publish identical rating pools - 43 ratings twice, 864 twice - and two jackets at the identical Rs. 1,007 carry 12 ratings and 875.
Shaving cream is sold in tubes of 60 g and packs of a stated kilogram, and Flipkart's grid prints the pack price beside a discount badge - neither of which tells you what the cream costs. MakeMyTrip's own offers page read on 14 October 2026: 98 live offer cards, 16 of them printing a coupon code. MMTFESTIVE appears twice — "Up to ₹1000 OFF*" on buses, cabs, trains and flights, and "FLAT ₹1000 OFF*" on round trips — and both expire 20 Oct. The Cruise section of MakeMyTrip's User Agreement, read on 14 October 2026, is the least-read part of the most expensive thing on the site. A confirmed cruise booking cannot be amended at all: "no amendments (e.g., date changes, itinerary modifications) will be allowed", and "the User must cancel the existing booking and rebook a new Cruise" at "pricing at the time of" rebooking. GoDaddy's Hosting & Security Services Agreement, read on its Indian site on 14 October 2026, stamped "Last Revised: 30-09-2026". It offers "unlimited bandwidth" and says "we do not set a limit" — then states that all plans, "including the unlimited plans", are capped at 100GB of disk storage, 2,50,000 inodes, 1,000 tables per database, 25% of one CPU core, 512MB of RAM, 100 connections and 1 MB/s disk IO. Exceed them and an account "may be temporarily or permanently suspended". It also says "Our servers are not an archive", that on cancellation "we will delete all such content", and that the 99.9% uptime guarantee pays 5% of one month's fee as store credit, if you ask. GoDaddy's global privacy notice, read on its Indian site on 14 October 2026, stamped "Last Revised: 28-05-2026". It addresses the browser setting most notices ignore, and declines it: "we do not respond to ‘Do Not Track’ signals", while recognising the Global Privacy Control "where required by applicable law". The retention section contains no period at all — no days, months or years — only three factors, the first being "if you still have an account". It states "We do not sell… personal data" four lines above a disclosure list including "marketers and advertisers", and carves out a sale of the business. GoDaddy's Domain Name Transfer Agreement, read on its Indian site on 14 October 2026 and stamped "Last Revised: 21-10-2020". It publishes twelve grounds on which a transfer can be rejected — four of them waiting periods: 60 days since registration, 60 days since the last transfer in, 60 days since the registrant changed, 10 days since a Change of Account, plus a 30-day order expiry and the 45-day post-expiry grace period. Above the list: "GoDaddy may elect to accept or reject your domain name transfer application for any reason at its sole discretion." Mamaearth's Privacy Policy, read on 14 October 2026, contains a paragraph most shoppers will never see. "You agree and consent to receive all communications... even if such mobile number is registered under DND/NCPR list", and "no communication... shall be construed as Unsolicited Commercial Communication under Regulation 2(bw) of the TRAI Regulations". Taking that consent is lawful and routine; knowing you gave it is the point. The policy also lists "names of people to whom purchases have been shipped" and "any open data and public records" among what it collects, says "We do not rent or sell" while providing three routes data still travels, and names three ways to opt out of marketing. Five of them badge 99% off — and on every one the stated MRP is exactly 100.00 times the selling price, from Rs. 2,99,000 against Rs. 2,990 up to Rs. 5,57,900 against Rs. 5,579. Separately, five KENT listings selling at Rs. 2,799, Rs. 3,099, Rs. 3,999, Rs. 4,599 and Rs. 5,499 all publish 4.0 from exactly 4,528 ratings — a 1.96x price spread under one review pool. The eight Philips listings carry a median badge of 22% against a shelf median of 55.5%. Nothing bought, unpacked, plugged in or cooked with.
A nebuliser is bought once and usually in a hurry, which makes the discount badge on it worth a second look. We read 48 Amazon listings on 14 October 2026, dropped the vaporisers and four tiles with evidently corrupt MRPs, and seated 22 of the remaining 40. One brand holds 11 of the 40 and sells six of them at exactly Rs. 849 - under six different product names, against four different stated MRPs, showing badges of 40%, 40%, 40%, 42%, 57% and 57%. The price does not vary by a rupee; the entire 17-point badge spread lives in the figure each tile strikes through. Their rating pools are genuinely separate - 1,219, 668, 622, 446, 146 and 101 - so these are six listings, not one.
