Flipkart's own Big Billion Days store page says the sale kicks off on 9 October 2026 — it is not live in September, whatever the “up to 90% off” headlines say. So we recorded the baseline instead: 381 Flipkart listings read on 21 September 2026 across phones, laptops, TVs, air conditioners, washing machines, running shoes, headphones and kurta sets. The median pre-sale discount badge is already 52 per cent, and 33 listings already show 80 per cent or more. All 115 listings badged at 70 per cent or more came from just three categories — kurta sets, headphones and running shoes. No phone, laptop, TV, AC or washing machine reached 70 per cent. Exactly one listing hit 90 per cent: an earbud at Rs. 1,376 against a stated Rs. 13,999, with three ratings. Full price tables below, to check against on 9 October.

Flipkart's own Big Billion Days landing page, read on 21 September 2026, states that the sale "will kick off on 9th October 2026" - and describes a pre-sale programme that has not been widely reported. The Curtain Raiser "provides you with an early opportunity, with selected products opening up at BBD rates five days before the main sale", which by our arithmetic is 4 October, though Flipkart publishes the interval rather than the date. Alongside it: a SuperCoin funfair, an hourly BBD Countdown Cheat Sheet and a Count Down hour. What Flipkart does not publish is an end date, any discount percentage, or which products open early. We quote the page in full and invent nothing.

We read Flipkart's LED bulb listings on 21 September 2026. Of 156 lighting listings returning a price, a stated MRP and a rating count, 24 bulbs are seated here, from Rs. 24.70 to Rs. 619 a bulb. The finding that organises the page is that the pack count is never in the title - it sits in the grey subtitle, so two listings with identical titles can be a pair and a ten-pack. Six Syska 9 W listings share one title and one count of 171,098 ratings at Rs. 110 to Rs. 372. And the bigger pack is not always cheaper: EVEREADY's 10 W pack of 12 costs Rs. 82.00 a bulb against Rs. 50.20 in its pack of 10, 63 per cent more for each bulb. Divide before you buy.

We read Myntra's lingerie, bra, brief and camisole listings on 21 September 2026. Of 160 returning a price and a stated MRP, 24 women's listings are seated here, from Rs. 219 to Rs. 1,304. The finding that organises the page is the badge: all twelve Jockey listings in the pull show zero per cent off - the brand sells at its own MRP every time - and all seven Van Heusen listings show exactly 13 per cent. Against that, DressBerry runs 36 to 81 and one unrated MESGENDA set claims 82 off a stated Rs. 1,999. And the prices land in the same place regardless: a Jockey bra at Rs. 699 with no badge sits Rs. 255 above a DressBerry bra claiming 75 per cent off.

We read Amazon's and Reliance Digital's air fryer and OTG shelves within the same hour on 21 September 2026. Nine products appear on both under the same manufacturer model number, and Amazon is cheaper than or equal to Reliance Digital on every one - never dearer. Two are identical to the rupee. The finding worth keeping is in the MRP column: on the Morphy Richards 60 RCSS OTG, Amazon states an MRP of Rs. 19,490 and Reliance Digital states Rs. 33,995 for the same model, so the badge reads 20 per cent at the shop charging Rs. 1,500 less and 50 per cent at the one charging more. A discount on one site cannot be compared with a discount on another.

We read Amazon's gardening tool, planter, watering can and seed listings on 21 September 2026. Of 101 returning a price and a stated MRP, 24 are seated here, from Rs. 109 to Rs. 2,499. Nine listings claim 95 per cent off or more, and every one traces to an MRP that is an exact multiple of the price: Rs. 235 against a stated Rs. 23,500, Rs. 329 against Rs. 32,900, Rs. 699 against Rs. 69,900. That is a decimal place, not a discount - and two of those listings are Amazon's own labels. At the other end, a Spanco rake states Rs. 675 and sells at Rs. 670. Tool kits state piece counts, so the per-tool rate runs Rs. 62.25 to Rs. 249.90.

We read Amazon's nail polish listings on 21 September 2026. Of 122 listings returning a price, a stated MRP and a rating count, the 24 that print a bottle size in millilitres are seated here. Price per millilitre spans 7.1 times - Rs. 6.00 for Swiss Beauty's 11 ml at Rs. 66, Rs. 42.47 for O.P.I's 15 ml at Rs. 637 - and the sticker price does not track it: an Rs. 88 Lakme bottle costs Rs. 14.67 a millilitre where an Rs. 99 Colors Queen bottle costs Rs. 7.62. Lakme alone spans 2.7 times across nine listings. Two of its bottles are the same line, edition and size and cost Rs. 216 and Rs. 234 - the shade sets the price. Read the millilitre figure first.

Navratri is already live on Nykaa Fashion's own landing page, and the nine-night wardrobe list gets expensive fast if you buy it piece by piece. We swept the chaniya choli, dress, jewellery, potli and footwear shelves and kept 18 picks with real prices pulled the same day — a bandhani lehenga set at 67% off, a Kanchipuram silk cut most sales never touch, oxidised jewellery under Rs. 1,000, and a Rs. 349 dupatta that's this list's floor price. Nykaa Fashion's homepage is running its own named multi-brand event right now, spanning 2,500-plus labels — too wide to browse listing by listing. We swept nine recognisable brands across footwear, ethnic wear, Western wear and accessories, and kept 20 picks with real, live prices pulled the same day. A 67% Puma sneaker cut, a Biba kurta discounted deeper than the label usually goes, an Accessorize London bag at a third of MRP, and two dedicated Skechers running shoes for anyone shopping this for a workout wardrobe, not a wedding. Roles, not rankings: best overall, biggest steal, best occasion dress.

We read Myntra's clock listings on 20 September 2026. Thirty-two wall and table clocks came back with a price and a stated MRP; 24 are seated here, from Rs. 319 to Rs. 789. The finding that organises the page: one RANDOM silent-sweep clock appears four times at Rs. 599, Rs. 644, Rs. 649 and Rs. 651, with one identical title, one stated MRP of Rs. 2,498 and one shared pool of 4.3 from 522 ratings. Two colourways at Rs. 360 share 1,042 ratings; a Rs. 599 and a Rs. 789 listing share 417. Meanwhile Ajanta prints exactly 36 per cent on six of its seven listings and RANDOM prints up to 82 - and the cheapest clock on the shelf, at Rs. 319, carries the largest rating count of all.

We read Tata CLiQ's decor listings on 20 September 2026. Of 76 showpiece, photo frame and wall art listings, only 15 publish a rating count at all - and 13 of those 15 show exactly one rating. The largest sample anywhere on the shelf is five. That leaves a price, a stated MRP and a photograph, and the MRPs are doing a lot of work: badges here run from 5 per cent on a Clay Craft ceramic Buddha to 85 per cent on a Tayhaa resin set stated at Rs. 17,999. Twenty-three listings are seated, from Rs. 188 to Rs. 6,119, with the frame sets converted to a price per frame - Rs. 188 for one, Rs. 126 each in a set of three, Rs. 162 each in a set of seven.

We read both clock shelves on 20 September 2026 — 32 listings on Myntra, 28 at Tata CLiQ. The platforms stock almost nothing in common, but one brand sells on both against an identical stated MRP: RANDOM clocks listed at Rs. 2,498 sell for Rs. 599 to Rs. 651 on Myntra and Rs. 999 to Rs. 1,299 on Tata CLiQ — and the dearer shelf prints the smaller badge, 48 per cent against 76. The evidence gap is wider still: 26 of Myntra's 32 listings publish a rating count, median 328, topping out at 2,155; seven of Tata CLiQ's 28 do, median one, topping out at four. Myntra's entire clock aisle costs under Rs. 800; Tata CLiQ's median is Rs. 1,874 and it runs to Rs. 11,499. Full price lists from both shelves below.

We read Flipkart's storage container listings on 20 September 2026. Sixty-seven returned a price, a stated MRP and a rating count; 21 are seated here, from Rs. 159 to Rs. 1,873. The finding that organises the page is what sits under the tiles: Womens 1st Choice shows 4.3 from 101,978 ratings on four listings priced Rs. 173, Rs. 183, Rs. 397 and Rs. 497; SARAZA shows 91,259 on four between Rs. 226 and Rs. 476; 3D METRO shows 123,108 on two. That is a marketplace pooling feedback across a product family, so the count is not feedback on the jar in the photograph. Second: the badge tracks brand recognition - MILTON prints 27, 32 and 34 per cent and cello 51, while unfamiliar labels print 75 to 88. And half this shelf is multi-size sets priced like single jars.

We read AJIO's earring, necklace and jewellery-set listings on 20 September 2026. A hundred and four returned a selling price and a stated MRP; 22 are seated here, from Rs. 95 to Rs. 8,670. The finding is arithmetic, and you can check it: on 28 of the 104 listings the stated MRP is an exact round multiple of the selling price - 2.00, 5.00, 6.25, 6.67, 8.33 and 10.00 times, which are exactly 50, 80, 84, 85, 88 and 90 per cent off. Lucky Jewellery states exactly five times on all four of its listings, including Rs. 8,670 against a stated Rs. 43,348. Oomph's studs are Rs. 239 against Rs. 2,390. At the other end, RHEA states 1.11 times and Biba exactly two. And AJIO publishes no rating or rating count on any of the 104.

We read Nykaa's Shipping Policy and its 25-clause Terms of Use on 20 September 2026. Shipping is Rs. 70 below Rs. 299 and free at Rs. 299 and above, with free shipping at any value for Prive Platinum and Gold members. The two pages publish two different cash-on-delivery floors - the Shipping Policy says no COD below Rs. 200, clause 9 of the Terms says COD above Rs. 249 - and a Rs. 20,000 ceiling for new customers. The Terms also state that a '30-Minute Delivery' figure is an average under ideal conditions and 'not legally binding', with the clock starting at payment confirmation. And clause 4 says Nykaa is an intermediary that does not own, manufacture or inspect the goods it sells.
