Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) is a national level computer based test to facilitate admission into various management programmes of AICTE approved colleges. CMAT 2020 was conducted on January 28, 2020 and NTA declared CMAT Results on February 4, 2020. Candidates can check their Scorecard using their login Id and Password. 

Updates: NTA released CMAT 2020 Question Paper along with Response Sheet and Answer Key on January 30. Candidates had the window to raise objections by paying a challenge fee of INR 1000 by February 2.

  • It is a 3 hour duration exam to test skills of candidates in the areas of Quantitative techniques and Data Interpretation, Language Comprehension, Logical Reasoning and General Awareness.
  • CMAT came into inception in the year 2012 and was conducted twice in a year until 2015. NTA took over the responsibility to conduct CMAT from the 2018 session.
  •  It is a highly accredited management entrance exam, scores of which are accepted by more than 1000 AICTE approved colleges.

CMAT 2020 Result

CMAT 2020 results were declared on February 4, 2020 by NTA on the official website itself. Access to which can be taken by entering login credentials. CMAT 2020 result declaration is followed by release of All India Merit list and final answer key of the examination. Candidates can follow the following given steps to check their CMAT 2020 Score Card:

  • Login to the official website of CMAT that is ntacmat.ac.in
  • Go to the “View CMAT 2020 Result” tab. 
  • Result Cards with sectional and overall marks obtained will be displayed.
  • Download the same for future reference.

How is CMAT 2020 Score Calculated?

CMAT 2020 scores are calculated based on the marking scheme predetermined by the conducting body. Each correct answer will carry +4 marks while every incorrect answer carries -1 mark. In case two or more candidate achieve the same score, rank is calculated on the considering marks obtained in following sequence:

  1. Marks Obtained in Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
  2. Marks Obtained in Logical Reasoning
  3. Marks Obtained in Language Comprehension
  4. Marks Obtained in General Awareness

How is CMAT 2020 Percentile Calculated?

Following formula is used to calculate CMAT overall percentile:

Percentile P = 100 x Number of Candidates appeared in the examination with Raw marks equal to or less than the candidate/Total number of candidates appeared

In the year 2018, three candidates scored 100 percentile, Nimish Kulkarni, Jhalak Singhal and Maitri Chawra. Though their overall scores were different. In cases where two or more candidates bag the same rank, it is displayed as it is just arranged in alphabetical order. 

CMAT 2020 Toppers

CMAT 2020 Answer Key

The official CMAT 2020 Answer Key was released on February 04, 2020 by NTA.

  • By filling an application form and paying a fee of INR 1000 per question, students could challenge the answer key for CMAT 2020.
  • This amount was to be paid by Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.

CMAT 2020 Cut off

When results of the CMAT 2020 aptitude test are declared, institutes release their cut off scores individually. To clear the misconception that usually persistent no Cut off for CMAT 2020 is declared by the National Testing agency, it is merely a conducting body. CMAT 2020 Score to Percentile Conversion

In order to get into the top colleges, students are expected to score at least a cut off of 99.5 or higher (291). For the top 20 colleges, students are expected to get 99 or higher percentile for enrolling into PGDM or MMS courses. There is a difference in the selection process of both the courses. Candidates applying for PGDM courses will have to undergo GD/PI/WAT after getting shortlisted, while candidates applying for MMS courses, can directly get into the college if they get the required percentile. Furthermore, the top management institutes such as JBIMS, SIMSREE etc, students are expected to score 300+ in the exam.

A candidate should get the following scores in each section to get an overall score of 250.

CMAT 2020 Selection Process

Selection of candidates to institutes accepting CMAT 2020 score is a multilayered process. Candidates have to go through the following steps:

  • Screening of candidates appeared in CMAT 2020 entrance test based on the scores/percentile obtained.
  • Shortlisting and Call for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
  • Final selection based on an overall composite score for which parameters like CMAT 2020 percentile Score, Academic Background, GD/PI Scores, Work Experience weightage and Extra/Co Curricular Achievements are undertaken.

CMAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

NTA clearly defines the eligibility criteria to appear for the CMAT 2020. Mentioned below are the essential specifications candidates need to understand before applying for the next session, failing to fulfill which their candidature can get cancelled:

  • Applications must be a citizen of India. 
  • Graduates (10+2+3) in any discipline from an institute recognised by AICTE are eligible to apply.
  • There is no age limit to apply for the exam.
  • Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply, provided their final results are declared before the process for admission through CMAT 2020 begins for the session applying into.

CMAT 2020 Application Process

The registration process for CMAT 2020 generally begins in the first week of November and is available for a month duration. Six simple steps are to be followed to complete the CMAT 2020 application Process. Applicants should keep in mind to have a valid and functioning E-mail Id and Phone Number before beginning the CMAT 2020 registration process. 

Step 1: Basic Registration

Visit the official NTA CMAT website ntacmat.ac.in and create an account using valid email Id and Contact Number. Prefer using Internet Explorer version 11 or above or Mozilla Firefox version 50 to 61 or Google Chrome version 50 to 69while filling the CMAT 2020 Application form to avoid any inconvenience. 

Step 2: Fill up the Application Form

A new page will open where candidates have to enter their personal information like Date of Birth, Name etc. After which candidates will receive their 12 digit Registration number which should be noted for further use. Next step is to provide academic details and qualifications. Verify the details mentioned before final submission as the form will not reopen for editing.

Documents Required for CMAT 2020 Registration

  • Class 10 and 12th Marksheet 
  • Graduation Marksheet
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable for the category)
  • PWD/DA Certificate
  • A recent passport size photograph on a white or light coloured background
  • Signature in a white paper

Step 3: Upload Photograph and Signature

A Recent, cloured, Clear, front looking passport size photograph needs to be uploaded with the CMAT 2020 Application Form. In addition to this Candidates need to upload their signature as well. Step 4: Payment of fees

NTA provides the facility to pay CMAT 2020 registration fee in both online and offline mode. Candidates can remit the fees through Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ UPI ID or by depositing Cash at any SBI branch. An e-challan is generated for the same, candidates can produce it in the nearest SBI branch and pay the fee in cash.

Step 5: Select Exam Center and Download Confirmation Page

Candidates have the liberty to fill 4 Exam Centers as per their choice of preference from the list of Exam centers provided by NTA. After the application fee is paid, a confirmation page will appear. Applicants must make sure they download this confirmation page (If possible keep a print copy of it). In case no confirmation message is received candidates should immediately contact the CMAT helpdesk.

Exam Center details are mentioned clearly on Candidates CMAT Admit Card. NTA, the conducting body of the exam does not entertain any request regarding change of exam center. Once allotted , they are not subject to any change. 

CMAT 2020 Admit Card

NTA released Admit Card for CMAT 2020 on December 24 on the official website cmat.nta.nic.in, candidates can download the same by logging into their portal till the day of the exam. Needless to mention that a printed copy of the CMAT 2020 admit card is to be produced at the exam hall. In case candidates are having errors in downloading the admit card due to password issues, they can use the option “Forgot Password”.

A thorough check of the admit card should be done to ensure that details (personal, reservation category, date, venue etc) are correct and clear. Photograph and Signature should be clearly visible as well. In case of discrepancy, candidates can contact the helpdesk.
