Amazon has confirmed the Great Indian Festival 2026 starts on 8 October, and its early-deals page is already live, with SBI debit and credit cards named for a 10% instant discount. Every early-deal shelf is capped at around Rs. 1,000, so we swept Electronics, Home & Kitchen and Fashion & Beauty on 26 September and kept only branded products with real ratings behind them. Twenty-two picks made it, from the boAt Rockerz 255 Pro+ at Rs. 999 (over two lakh ratings) and Logitech's silent M240 mouse to Puma slides at Rs. 799, an 18-jar Solimo pantry set at Rs. 459 and Rs. 79 Halonix Diwali lights. Every price, MRP, rating and review count was read from the product page the same day.

A mixer grinder is a motor in a box and almost every listing prints the motor's wattage, so the shelf can be priced per watt. We read Vijay Sales' 80 listings on 4 October 2026 and divided each by its stated rating. The cheapest watt here is Rs. 319 per 100 W, on a Rs. 3,828 hand blender; the cheapest listing on the shelf, at Rs. 699, is only the fifth cheapest watt. Sticker prices span 30x and per-watt prices 5.9x. Four stated 1,000 W grinders here run Rs. 561, Rs. 600, Rs. 790 and Rs. 1,500 per 100 W - 2.7x apart for the same number on the box - and one brand charges double its own kilowatt rate for 200 W less. Note before you start: this retailer publishes no customer ratings at all, on any of the 80 listings.

Flipkart's quick-commerce store, Minutes, is running Big Billion Days Early Bird Deals ahead of the main sale on October 9. Behind the banner sits a curtain-raiser page of gadgets and small appliances: headsets, smartwatches, trimmers, chargers, power banks, air fryers, kettles and irons. We opened the store for a central Bengaluru pincode on October 4, 2026, went through the shelves one at a time and read every price off its product page. The result is 22 picks from Rs. 159 to Rs. 2,549: a Zebronics gaming mouse that Flipkart tags as its lowest price since launch, boAt Airdopes and the Rockerz 255 Pro+ at Rs. 999 each, a Mi 20,000 mAh power bank at Rs. 1,699, a Philips beard trimmer at Rs. 999 and a KENT 4-litre air fryer at Rs. 2,549. Each card shows the Flipkart rating and rating count where the product page had one, the bank-offer price where one was shown, and whether the item came with a 7-day return or brand support only. Minutes prices and stock vary by pincode.

Amazon has put up a festival page for Amazon Business, its free buying account for shops, offices, restaurants and freelancers, ahead of the Great Indian Festival that starts on October 8, 2026. The page promises three things: bulk discounts, GST invoices that let registered businesses claim up to 18% input credit, and 10% assured cashback on the first three business purchases. You qualify with a GST number, an Udyam registration, a business PAN or an FSSAI licence, and Amazon says the check takes under two minutes. We read the page on October 4, 2026, and then went through the 48 products in Amazon's own Business Savings Guide to see what the business price is worth in rupees. The answer ranges from 1% to 52%, with a median of about 8%. This guide covers who can sign up, how the GST input credit works on a real invoice, where the business price is large and where it is negligible, and what to set up before the sale opens.

Flipkart has switched on Big Billion Days prices for a set of phones before the sale opens on October 9. Its mobile store page now reads Early Bird Deals, Sale Price Live, and lists 25 phones from BOLTT, LAVA, POCO, Tecno, Motorola, OPPO, Infinix, Ai+, realme and Nothing. The page itself is only banners, so on October 4, 2026 we opened every product page and wrote down the listed price, the MRP, the lower price Flipkart shows once bank offers are applied, the rating and the rating count. Twenty-two phones made the list. The cheapest is the BOLTT Evo at Rs. 9,999, or Rs. 8,999 with offers. The realme P4 5G is Rs. 30,999, or Rs. 28,499 with the bank offer. The Nothing Phone (4a) is Rs. 44,999 and falls to Rs. 39,685 with the bank offer, and the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is Rs. 47,999 against an MRP of Rs. 84,999. Each card gives both prices, the exchange and no-cost EMI lines from the product page, and a note where the rating count is too thin to trust.

A "24 hours Replacement" tag on a Hammer product page reads like a service promise. The policy says otherwise: such products are "eligible for Repair/replace only" and for "repair within 48-72 hours of delivery" - the hours are your deadline to report damage, not the brand's to fix it. We read the page first-party on 4 October 2026. A 24-hour clock from delivery governs damaged goods, refunds and accessories alike, and accessories are "not covered under warranty" at all. Repair or replace is available "only one time for any Hammer product", the whole process "usually takes 10-12 days", and a refund may arrive after "deducting the bank and delivery charges".

Bangles sell in stated sets of two to forty, so the price on the tile is not the price of a bangle. We read Myntra's shelf on 4 October 2026 - 97 listings - and divided every one by the count it states. The cheapest bangle here is Rs. 9.32, inside a set of 40 costing Rs. 373; the cheapest single bangle is Rs. 290. Sticker prices across the seated set span 5.2x and per-bangle prices 95.5x, and the ranking inverts: the dearest listing on the page, a Rs. 1,145 wedding chuda, is its seventh cheapest bangle. Two findings on the evidence. One seller states the same Rs. 2,099 list price for a set of nine and a set of ten, and two identically titled listings share one pool of 1,038 ratings at Rs. 290 and Rs. 306. Twenty-two seated.

Libas has two sitewide codes scrolling on its homepage: "BUY FOR MIN. Rs. 2499, GET FLAT Rs. 100 OFF | CODE: SALE100" and "BUY FOR MIN. Rs. 2899, GET FLAT Rs. 200 OFF | CODE: SALE200". We read them against the brand's own product feed the same morning. Of 184 priced items, only 36 (19%) cost Rs. 2,499 or more on their own and just 16 (8%) reach Rs. 2,899 - the median item is Rs. 1,939. Because both discounts are flat rupee amounts, the rate peaks at 6.9% on a Rs. 2,899 basket and falls away above it. The fixed-price Special Offers edits, from Rs. 999, are where the cheaper entry points actually are, and no dated Diwali event is running.

Crocs India's return policy names one physical object as the thing that decides whether a footwear return happens at all. "Removal of the tag loop may result in the inability to process returns" - the plastic tie through the eyelets, which most people cut off before the box is empty. We read the policy first-party on 4 October 2026. The window is 10 days from delivery to raise a request, pick-up is arranged within 3-5 business days, and then refunds take up to 10-15 business days on a prepaid order against 20-22 on cash on delivery - a gap of roughly a fortnight for choosing to pay at the door. A damaged, defective or wrong item has a far shorter clock: 48 hours. And a pair bought in a store cannot be returned online.

We read 363 Diwali listings on Flipkart on 4 October 2026 and the review counts gave the shelf away. Four Refulgix string lights display an identical 2,850 ratings at 3.9 - and sell at Rs. 56, Rs. 256, Rs. 260 and Rs. 636, an 11.4x spread for stated specs that differ only by colour. Three PESCA listings share 39,625 ratings and carry badges of 87%, 69% and 45% at the same time. Two MPROW listings share 34,675 ratings 2.54x apart on price, both badged 78%, because one states a Rs. 1,199 list price and the other Rs. 2,999. One Rs. 90 glass diya fills nine slots in a single search under nine keyword-tailed titles, none of them rated. Twenty-four listings seated, Rs. 56 to Rs. 696, with the stated MRP multiple printed on every card.

Mithai is sold by weight in boxes from 200 g to 1 kg, so the sticker price compares nothing. We read 240 Amazon listings on 4 October 2026 and divided each by the weight it states. Soan papdi - the default Diwali gift - runs from Rs. 23.00 to Rs. 95.60 per 100 g for the same named sweet, a 4.2x spread. Kaju katli runs Rs. 110.70 to Rs. 244.00, so the cheapest kaju katli costs 4.8 times the cheapest soan papdi. Two findings on how the boxes are priced. One brand's own box marked 'Premium' costs 2.8 times its own ordinary box per 100 g, on one rating against 1,555; and a two-box combo costs 13% more per gram than buying the same two boxes separately. Amazon's own printed unit rate confirms the arithmetic on twelve of the twenty-two seated rows.

Storage baskets are sold in sets, which makes the shelf easy to compare and easy to misread. We parsed 114 Myntra listings on 4 October 2026 and seated 24. One brand sells the same basket set in two, three, four, five and six pieces, and each extra basket adds about Rs. 150 at checkout while adding Rs. 700 to the stated MRP. That gap is what keeps all ten listings badged at a flat 77-78% whatever size you choose. Per basket the entire ladder spans Rs. 158.17 to Rs. 183.50, so buying six instead of two saves under 14%. Two listings of the 2-piece set sit Rs. 18 apart and share one rating pool, and eight of the ten set listings publish no rating at all.

Wall decor is a category where the advertised discount does most of the talking, so it is worth checking what the prices actually do. We parsed 90 Myntra listings on 4 October 2026 and seated 24. Nothing on the whole shelf sells above Rs. 1,122, while stated MRPs run as high as Rs. 6,999. Sixteen listings under nine different brand names state an identical Rs. 999 list price and sell between Rs. 241 and Rs. 581; six more share one stated Rs. 5,995. The deepest badge in the read, 90%, sits on a listing with seven ratings, while the most expensive item on the shelf is badged 58%. Two pairs of designs share a single rating pool, and eight of the 24 seated listings publish no rating at all.

AbhiBus is running a Diwali-window bus coupon, and two of its terms decide whether it is worth anything to you. "Offer is valid only for journey dates between 8 October 2026 and 25 October 2026" - that is your travel date, not your booking date. And the headline percentage is the new-user one: "20% off up to Rs. 200 + 20% cashback up to Rs. 200 for new users on their first booking. Existing users get 8% off up to Rs. 200 + 8% cashback up to Rs. 200." We read the offer first-party on 4 October 2026. A Rs. 500 minimum applies, it works once per user, you must be logged in, it cannot be stacked, and government RTC buses are excluded entirely.

Almost every green tea box on Amazon prints its bag count, so the shelf divides cleanly. We read 74 listings on 4 October 2026 and seated 24. The cheapest bag is Rs. 2.00 and the dearest is Rs. 19.63 - 9.8 times apart - and the Rs. 1,049 box with the highest sticker price is only the fourth dearest per bag. All three brands selling the same tea at 25 bags and at 100 charge more per bag for the small box, between 10% and 32% - and one brand inverts it entirely, charging Rs. 5.12 a bag for a 25-bag box and Rs. 8.60 for its own 50-bag twin-pack. Both of those tiles carry the identical 747-rating pool that marks them as one product record.
