Tata CLiQ Menswear: The Discount Belongs to the House, Not the Shirt

Tata CLiQ menswear August 2026 collage - Raymond checked blazer, Thomas Scott cotton chinos, Louis Philippe striped shirt and a Sojanya kurta set with jacket
Zoutons Picks — Tata CLiQ Menswear, August 2026

256 Tata CLiQ menswear listings, read on August 4 and grouped by parent company. Raymond's brands discount a median 55 per cent, Arvind's 47, Aditya Birla's 38 - and the only real rating samples belong to nobody's house at all. Twenty-six picks.

Prices & codes last verified August 4, 2026

The short of it 256 Tata CLiQ menswear listings, read August 4, grouped by owner. A Raymond cotton shirt costs Rs. 1,012; a Louis Philippe one costs Rs. 1,714, at a shallower discount. Six Arrow New York jackets share one price to the rupee. The only listing with a real rating sample - 374 ratings - is a Rs. 919 chino from an independent. Tommy Hilfiger prices a checked shirt at Rs. 3,599; the same shelf sells one for Rs. 659.

Indian menswear is a more concentrated business than its brand names suggest, and Tata CLiQ's August shelf makes that visible in a way a shop floor never would. On August 4, 2026 we ran four queries against the retailer's own search API - men shirt, men trouser, men jacket and men blazer - and kept the 256 listings that returned a price, a stated MRP above it and an image. Then, before looking at a single discount, we mapped every brand to its parent company. Three conglomerates own 87 of those 256 listings between them, and each runs a house rate. The Raymond Group - Raymond, Park Avenue, Parx and ColorPlus - discounts at a median 55 per cent across 21 listings, at a median price of Rs. 1,122. Arvind Fashions - Arrow, Arrow New York, AD by Arvind and U.S. Polo Assn. - discounts at 47 per cent across 37 listings, at a median price of Rs. 3,499, three times Raymond's. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail - Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England - discounts at 38 per cent across 29. Put a garment through that grid and the effect is concrete: a Raymond striped cotton slim-fit shirt costs Rs. 1,012 and a Louis Philippe striped cotton slim-fit shirt costs Rs. 1,714, and the ownership predicts the gap better than the fabric description does, because both listings say 'cotton' and stop. The second finding is about evidence, and it runs the other way. Across all 87 conglomerate listings the largest rating sample we could find was 21; the great majority carry single digits or no rating at all. Meanwhile Thomas Scott, an independent with seven listings on this shelf, has a Rs. 919 chino rated by 374 people. This is a different failure from the one our read on brand-level discount policy at the same retailer traced, and it rewards the same habit that reading a rating with its number argued for. Every score below is printed with its count, including the unflattering ones. We have not worn or handled any of these garments.

Every price below was pulled from Tata CLiQ on August 4, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Tata CLiQ coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

“Raymond's brands discount a median 55 per cent. Aditya Birla's discount 38. The shirts are the same shirts - the parent company is the variable.” Zoutons Editorial Team

Five rules for shopping a concentrated menswear shelf

First: find out who owns the brand before you compare two prices. Raymond, Park Avenue, Parx and ColorPlus are one company; Arrow, Arrow New York, AD by Arvind and U.S. Polo Assn. are another; Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England are a third. On this shelf those three groups discount at 55, 47 and 38 per cent respectively, and knowing which house you are standing in explains more of the price than any garment description does. Second: read the rating count, not the star. A 4.5 from two ratings and a 4.0 from 374 are not comparable claims, and on this shelf the first kind vastly outnumbers the second - 134 of 256 listings carry no rating at all. Third: when a whole line shares one price, the listing is not a bargain you found, it is a line price. Six Arrow New York jackets at Rs. 3,599, five TAHVO blazers at Rs. 3,917 and four Sojanya kurta sets at Rs. 2,555 all mean the same thing: pick the colour and the fabric, because nothing else varies. Fourth: treat a stated MRP that is exactly double the selling price as a pricing convention rather than a saving. This shelf is full of them, and the deepest badges - 69 to 80 per cent on Thomas Scott - are measured against stickers no garment in that brand sells anywhere near. Fifth: for formalwear, the cheapest heritage-brand route on this shelf is the Raymond house, and it is not close. Our read on one sneaker at three prices shows the same shelf doing something stranger with footwear.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: 230 of the 256 listings. Within the three houses we seated five listings each and left the rest as repetition - Arrow's remaining fourteen rows sit between Rs. 1,125 and Rs. 4,499 inside the same 25-to-55 per cent band, Louis Philippe's nine further listings cluster at 41 and 51 per cent exactly like the two seated, and Park Avenue's remaining four run 50 to 59 per cent on trousers and shirts already represented. We seated one of the six identical Arrow New York jackets at Rs. 3,599, one of the five identical TAHVO blazers at Rs. 3,917 and one of the four identical Sojanya kurta sets at Rs. 2,555, naming the pattern in each seat rather than presenting five near-identical picks. Among independents, Thomas Scott's four unseated listings include a Rs. 919 shirt at 80 per cent off with no rating and a jogger at 79 per cent on a single 2.0 rating, which we would not seat on that evidence; Rare Rabbit's ten other rows sit within Rs. 600 of the seated shirt. We left out U.S. Polo Assn. entirely despite it belonging to the Arvind house, because its listings in this pull are polo tees rather than the shirt, trouser, jacket and blazer categories our queries were built around. The four adidas listings we did not seat include two carrying 1.0 and 2.0 ratings from single ratings, which is not a signal we would act on in either direction. We also dropped every listing whose stated MRP fell at or below its selling price. Nothing was excluded for being a bad product.

What we look for

We grouped 256 listings by parent company before doing anything else

On August 4, 2026 we ran four queries against Tata CLiQ's own search API - men shirt, men trouser, men jacket and men blazer - two pages each, and kept every listing that returned a price, a stated MRP above that price and an image, which gave 256 deduplicated rows. Before sorting by discount we mapped each brand to its parent group, and three Indian conglomerates turned out to account for 87 of the 256 listings between them, each with its own consistent rate. The Raymond Group - Raymond, Park Avenue, Parx, ColorPlus - runs 21 listings at a median 55 per cent off and a median price of Rs. 1,122. Arvind Fashions - Arrow, Arrow New York, AD by Arvind, U.S. Polo Assn. - runs 37 at a median 47 per cent and a median Rs. 3,499. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail - Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England - runs 29 at a median 38 per cent and a median Rs. 1,859. A Raymond cotton shirt at Rs. 1,012 and a Louis Philippe cotton shirt at Rs. 1,714 are the same garment category at 17 points of discount apart, and the parent company predicts that gap better than anything printed in either listing does.

Every rating is printed with its count, because on this shelf the count is usually tiny

Of the 256 listings we read, 122 carry a star rating and 134 carry none at all. Among those that do, the counts are overwhelmingly in single digits: a Park Avenue trouser scoring 4.0 on two ratings, an Arrow blazer at 4.5 on two, a Louis Philippe shirt at 5.0 on five. Across all 87 conglomerate listings the largest sample we found was 21. We print the count beside every score for that reason, and we have seated one listing - the Park Avenue checks trousers at 4.0 from two ratings - specifically to make the problem visible rather than to recommend it. The contrast is the story of chapter four: a single Thomas Scott chino carries 374 ratings, more than eighteen times the best any conglomerate listing manages, and two more Thomas Scott listings carry 90 and 53. We have also printed the lowest double-digit score we found, a Louis Philippe trouser at 3.5 from 11 ratings, because a page that only quotes flattering numbers is selecting rather than reporting.

Where a whole line shares one price, we say so instead of picking one

Several brands on this shelf price a collection rather than a garment, and it changes what a listing price means. Arrow New York has six jackets in this pull at exactly Rs. 3,599 against exactly Rs. 7,999 - nylon, terylene, polyester, three colours - and a shopper choosing between them is choosing fabric and colour, not value. TAHVO has five blazers at exactly Rs. 3,917 against Rs. 7,995. Sojanya has four kurta sets at exactly Rs. 2,555 against Rs. 7,299. Adidas prices four of its six listings against one Rs. 4,599 sticker. In each case we have seated one example and named the pattern in the seat rather than presenting the pick as a discovered bargain, because it is not one - it is a line price, and the other members of the line are equally available at the identical figure.

The badge is judged against the house, never taken at face value

Discount percentages here are computed against each listing's stated MRP, and a stated MRP is a reference figure rather than evidence anyone paid it. Several of the roundest numbers on this shelf give the game away: an Arrow shirt at exactly 50 per cent off Rs. 2,399, a Tommy Hilfiger blazer at exactly half of Rs. 17,909, a Rare Rabbit shirt at exactly half of Rs. 3,799. And the Thomas Scott listings carrying 69 to 80 per cent badges are all measured against a Rs. 2,999 or Rs. 4,499 sticker that no Thomas Scott garment in our pull sells anywhere near. So every badge on this page is read against its own house or brand median rather than against the shelf, and where a stated MRP looks chosen to produce a percentage we have said so in the seat. We have not worn, handled, washed or fitted any garment on this page; fabric names, fit descriptions, wrinkle-free treatments and every other specification quoted are the sellers' listing claims, reported as claims. Observations about how a fit runs are general category reasoning of ours and flagged as such.

FAQs

Which brands are owned by Raymond, Arvind and Aditya Birla?

On the Tata CLiQ menswear shelf we read on August 4, 2026, three Indian conglomerates accounted for 87 of 256 listings. The Raymond Group covers Raymond itself plus Park Avenue, Parx and ColorPlus - 21 listings in our pull, at a median 55 per cent off and a median price of Rs. 1,122. Arvind Fashions covers Arrow, Arrow New York, AD by Arvind and U.S. Polo Assn. - 37 listings, at a median 47 per cent and a median price of Rs. 3,499. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail covers Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England - 29 listings, at a median 38 per cent. Knowing the groupings is practically useful rather than trivia, because the parent company predicts both the price level and the discount depth better than anything written in the individual listings does. Two cotton shirts with near-identical descriptions from two houses came out at Rs. 1,012 and Rs. 1,714 in our read.

Is Louis Philippe or Raymond better value on Tata CLiQ?

On price, Raymond's group is clearly cheaper on this shelf and it is not close. A Raymond striped cotton slim-fit shirt listed at Rs. 1,012 on August 4, 2026, against a Louis Philippe striped cotton slim-fit shirt at Rs. 1,714 - seventy per cent more money - and the discount ran the same way, with the Raymond house at a median 55 per cent off against Aditya Birla's 38. Across the whole shelf the Raymond group's median listing price was Rs. 1,122 and ABFRL's was Rs. 1,859. On quality we cannot tell you, and we would rather say so than guess: neither listing publishes anything beyond 'cotton' and a fit name, Louis Philippe's shirts in our pull mostly carried no ratings at all, and we have not handled either garment. What we can say is that if the object is a heritage-brand formal shirt at the lowest price, the Raymond house is where this shelf points, and that Louis Philippe's premium is not visibly explained by anything in the listing.

Why do six Arrow New York jackets have exactly the same price?

Because the collection, not the garment, is the unit being priced. In our August 4 read, six Arrow New York jackets all listed at exactly Rs. 3,599 against a stated MRP of exactly Rs. 7,999 - a nylon jacket, a nylon pin-striped one, a terylene chevron, a polyester, and two more in different colours. Five TAHVO blazers did the same thing at Rs. 3,917 against Rs. 7,995, four Sojanya kurta sets at Rs. 2,555 against Rs. 7,299, and adidas priced four of its six listings against a single Rs. 4,599 sticker. The practical consequence is that when you find one of these listings, you have not found a deal that the others lack - you have found one member of a line. Choose on the fabric and the colour instead, since nothing else varies. Nylon is the most weather-resistant of the Arrow New York options and terylene the most formal.

Why do so few Tata CLiQ menswear listings have ratings?

We can report the numbers but not the reason. Of 256 menswear listings we read on August 4, 2026, 122 carried a star rating and 134 carried none at all. Among those that had one, the counts were overwhelmingly tiny: a Park Avenue trouser at 4.0 from two ratings, an Arrow blazer at 4.5 from two, a Louis Philippe shirt at 5.0 from five. Across all 87 listings belonging to the three big conglomerates, the largest sample we found anywhere was 21 ratings. The contrast with independents was stark - a single Thomas Scott chino at Rs. 919 carried 374 ratings, another of its shirts 90 and a third 53. The practical rule is to read the count before the star: a 4.5 built from two opinions tells you nothing, and one bad review would move it by more than a full star. Every score on this page is printed with its count for exactly that reason, including a Louis Philippe trouser at 3.5 from 11.

What is the cheapest good men's shirt on Tata CLiQ right now?

On the combination of price and available evidence, the Thomas Scott blue slim-fit checked shirt at Rs. 659 with 4.0 stars from 53 ratings. It is the lowest-priced shirt among our 26 picks and it carries a larger rating sample than any conglomerate listing on the shelf. Its sibling, a loose-fit grey cotton casual shirt at Rs. 799, holds 4.2 stars on 90 ratings and is the best score-to-price combination we found anywhere. The honest caveats: Thomas Scott is an independent without the tailoring heritage or service presence of Raymond or Arvind, we have not handled the fabric, and the 78 per cent badge is measured against a Rs. 2,999 sticker that no shirt from this brand sells anywhere near - so judge it as a Rs. 659 shirt rather than a Rs. 2,340 saving. If you want a heritage formal label instead, the Raymond striped cotton shirt at Rs. 1,012 is the cheapest route on this shelf, and the Van Heusen checked shirt at Rs. 1,179 carries 4.2 stars on 10 ratings.

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price, stated MRP, discount percentage, star rating and rating count here was read from Tata CLiQ's own search API on August 4, 2026, across four queries - men shirt, men trouser, men jacket and men blazer - at two pages each, keeping only listings that returned a price, a stated MRP above that price and an image, which yielded 256 deduplicated rows. All of these can change without notice. The house groupings used throughout this page map each brand to its parent company as publicly reported: Raymond, Park Avenue, Parx and ColorPlus to the Raymond Group; Arrow, Arrow New York, AD by Arvind and U.S. Polo Assn. to Arvind Fashions; Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and Peter England to Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail. The medians quoted for each house are computed across that group's listings in this pull only - 21, 37 and 29 rows respectively - and are medians of listed selling prices and stated discounts, not of transacted prices, which we have no access to. We are describing a pricing pattern visible in one retailer's shelf on one day; we are not alleging coordination, and we cannot see the commercial arrangements that produce these rates. Discount percentages are computed against each listing's stated MRP, and a stated MRP is a reference figure rather than evidence that anyone paid it; where a sticker appears set to produce a badge - several are exactly twice the selling price - we have said so in the seat. Of the 256 listings, 122 carry a star rating and 134 carry none; every score quoted on this page is printed with its count, and several seated picks rest on samples of one to five ratings, which we have flagged in the seat each time rather than presenting as validation. Ratings are Tata CLiQ's own displayed figures and are not our assessment. We have not worn, handled, washed, fitted or laundered any garment on this page. Fabric names, fit descriptions, wrinkle-free and easy-to-iron treatments, lapel styles and every other specification quoted are the sellers' listing claims, reported as claims and not verified. Where this page comments on how a particular fit generally runs, or on what a fabric suits, that is category reasoning of ours and is identified as such. Sizes vary between brands on this shelf and should be checked against each brand's own size guide; delivery charges, return windows and exchange eligibility should be confirmed on the product page before you order.
