The same Puma Smashic sells at Rs. 1,575, Rs. 1,710 and Rs. 3,599 on Tata CLiQ today, against one MRP. The only difference is the colour of the upper.
We read Tata CLiQ's own marketplace search response on July 28, 2026 across eight categories and collected 196 in-stock listings carrying a live discount, each with its real rating and rating count attached — and the first thing in the data is a single shoe listed three times. The Puma Smashic appears at Rs. 1,575 in pearl white with 98 ratings, at Rs. 1,710 as a unisex listing with 711 ratings, and at Rs. 3,599 in desert dust with 695 ratings. All three carry the same stated MRP of Rs. 4,499. All three were in stock at the same moment. The badges read 65%, 62% and 20%, and the gap between the cheapest and the dearest is Rs. 2,024 on what is the same model in a different colour. That is not a fault in the site — it is how any marketplace works, where each colourway is a separate seller listing with its own stock position and its own pricing — but it produces the most actionable advice we can give about buying anything here: search the model name rather than clicking the tile you were shown, and read every colourway's price before deciding. It takes about thirty seconds and, on this page, it is worth Rs. 2,024. The second thing we did was test a story that would have been tidier: that better-reviewed products get discounted less. Across the 142 rated listings in our sample, items with 50 or more ratings averaged 39.7% off and items with fewer than 20 averaged 39.0% — no relationship at all, and we are printing the negative result because we went looking for a positive one. Our Tata CLiQ brand discount piece covers how the badge varies by label; this page is about what it does within a single product.
Every price below was pulled from Tata CLiQ on July 28, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Tata CLiQ coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Four picks from Rs. 3,600 to Rs. 9,891, at 20%, 15%, 30% and 10% off — and priced per millilitre rather than per bottle, which is the only fair way to read a fragrance shelf.

Four habits follow from a marketplace priced this way. First, and above everything else: search the model name. Every product on this page that exists in more than one colourway has more than one price, and on the Smashic that difference was Rs. 2,024 — larger than any coupon, any bank offer and any sale event you are likely to find. Second: read the rating count, not just the score. A 4.7 resting on 13 ratings and a 4.0 resting on 711 are not comparable claims, and this page prints both numbers on every pick for that reason. Third: do not use the badge to rank two products, because on this shelf it does not correlate with how well-reviewed something is — 39.7% average for well-rated items against 39.0% for thinly-rated ones, which is no signal at all. Fourth: because the tile prices move around, the levers that reliably shift the final number are the site-wide codes and bank offers rather than the listings. Our Tata CLiQ offers guide tracks those, the July sale page follows the current event, and our per-millilitre fragrance piece applies the same arithmetic to the perfume shelf in chapter five.

Every price, MRP, rating and rating count here comes from Tata CLiQ's own search response on July 28, 2026, across eight searches — watch, handbag, backpack, perfume, sunglasses, wallet, kurta and sneakers — returning 196 in-stock listings that carried a live discount. Marketplace listings are seller-specific, so a price we read is the price that seller showed on that date and may not be the only price for that product on the site.
The Puma Smashic appears three times in our sample, in three colourways, all against a stated MRP of Rs. 4,499: Rs. 1,575 with 98 ratings, Rs. 1,710 with 711 ratings and Rs. 3,599 with 695 ratings — badges of 65%, 62% and 20%, and a Rs. 2,024 spread on what is the same shoe in a different colour. That is normal marketplace behaviour rather than an error, and it is the single most useful thing on this page: search the model name and read every colourway before you buy.
It would be a tidy story if the well-reviewed products were discounted less, so we tested it across the 142 listings in our sample that carried ratings. Items with 50 or more ratings averaged 39.7% off; items with fewer than 20 averaged 39.0%. That is no relationship at all, and we are reporting it because we looked for one. Discount and evidence are two separate facts on this shelf and have to be read separately.
Rating pills on this page show real Tata CLiQ ratings with their counts, and the counts range from 10 to 711 — a 4.7 resting on 13 ratings is a much weaker claim than a 4.0 resting on 711, and printing the score without the count would hide that. We have also kept the low scores in: a 3.2 on a Rs. 499 backpack and a 3.7 on a Rs. 4,900 sneaker, both of which change what we would recommend. Prices and ratings read July 28, 2026.
Because each colourway is its own marketplace listing, with its own seller, its own stock position and its own price. On July 28, 2026 the Puma Smashic appeared at Rs. 1,575 in pearl white, Rs. 1,710 as a unisex listing and Rs. 3,599 in desert dust, all against the same stated MRP of Rs. 4,499 and all in stock, with 98, 711 and 695 ratings respectively. Nothing about the shoe differs. The practical response is to search the model name and read every colourway before buying — on this shoe that habit was worth Rs. 2,024.
No — we tested exactly that and found nothing. Across the 142 rated listings in our July 28, 2026 sample, products with 50 or more ratings averaged 39.7% off and products with fewer than 20 ratings averaged 39.0%. That is no relationship in either direction. The deepest badge in our picks (78%) sits on a product with 10 ratings and the second-best-evidenced product (374 ratings) sits at 56%, while the most-rated of all (711 ratings) sits at 62%. Treat the discount and the evidence as two separate facts.
Among our picks, the Lotto Mavin Court at Rs. 1,746 with 4.5 from 55 ratings — the highest sneaker score here, from a brand that prices below Puma and Adidas. The best-evidenced rather than best-scored is the Puma Smashic unisex listing at Rs. 1,710, which carries 711 ratings at 4.0, the largest count anywhere in this article. Worth noting the other way: the most expensive sneaker in our picks, an Adidas Originals SL 72 at Rs. 4,900, carries the lowest score at 3.7 from 66 ratings.
Only if they state UV protection, and that is the one specification that matters medically. A dark tinted lens without UV filtering is worse than no sunglasses at all, because the tint dilates the pupil and lets more ultraviolet light reach the retina. Among our picks the Rs. 640 Ted Smith aviators and the Rs. 1,249 Resist wayfarers both list UV protection, as does the Rs. 9,891 Ray-Ban. What the expensive pair adds is optical quality, a re-lensable frame and resale value — not more UV protection, which is binary.
Per millilitre, not per bottle, because fragrances on this shelf are sold in very different volumes. Among our picks the Jaguar Classic Black works out to Rs. 29.40 per ml at Rs. 2,940 for 100ml, Nautica Voyage to Rs. 36 per ml, and Tommy Hilfiger to Rs. 75.65 per ml. It is also worth checking the concentration: eau de toilette carries roughly 5 to 15% aromatic compounds against 15 to 20% for eau de parfum, so an EDT at the same per-ml price is a weaker proposition on wear time.
