Kidswear on AJIO is discounted 70% at the median. Home furnishing is discounted 40%. Same store, same day — and the gap is entirely in the reference price.
We pulled two AJIO aisles in the same sitting on July 29, 2026 — kids' clothing and home furnishing — and read 157 in-stock listings that were carrying a discount, 78 from one and 79 from the other. The point of doing it that way is that the two sets of numbers can be held against each other instead of against a memory of what things ought to cost, and held that way they say something quite specific. In kidswear the median discount is 70% and thirty-nine of the 78 listings are at 70% or more. In home furnishing the median is 40% and only eight of the 79 get that deep. The badge, in other words, is telling you which aisle you have walked into rather than what you are saving. Follow it back and it always ends at the same place: the MRP field. Rs. 1,999 is the most common reference price in the whole sample, appearing on nineteen listings whose actual prices run from Rs. 320 to Rs. 1,299 — a fourfold spread under one number — and one seller has typed that identical Rs. 1,999 over all twelve of the children's sets it lists. At the far end of the same shelf, eighteen home listings sit at exactly 10% off, fifteen of them from a single seller whose products cost anywhere between Rs. 631 and Rs. 8,037, which is a pricing rule rather than a sale. The one listing on this page from a brand with published prices of its own, a MUJI wall beam, carries a 30% badge, and that is not a coincidence: where the reference price can be checked, the discount is modest. Our AJIO accessories piece found the same shape in a third aisle, and our piece on AJIO's marketplace-only labels covers who is doing the typing.
Every price below was pulled from AJIO on July 29, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our AJIO coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Why it earned its spot Rs. 631, and a badge that is a policy rather than a discount.

Why it earned its spot Rs. 8,037, and proof that the 10% is a rule rather than a reaction to price.
Rs. 1,755 at 10% off — a wall lamp, from the third seller running the same flat rule.

Rs. 1,299 at 35% off — the same Rs. 1,999 MRP as the Rs. 320 kids' set in chapter one.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 1,299 against the identical reference price that sat over a Rs. 320 set.
Four rules follow from a shelf where the badge tracks the aisle rather than the product. First: compare prices, never percentages. Two kids' sets on this page cost Rs. 221 and Rs. 863, and the cheaper one carries the bigger badge by a factor of three — the badge told you nothing about either. Second: divide by the piece count wherever a pack exists, because that is the one number a seller cannot inflate. Three sets for Rs. 312 is Rs. 52 a garment, and five cushion covers for Rs. 608 is Rs. 122 each; both are better arguments than any percentage on this page. Third: treat a checkable brand as its own verification. MUJI at 30% and GINI AND JONY at 27% have modest badges precisely because their real prices exist somewhere you can look them up, and that makes those two the most trustworthy numbers here. Fourth: read the listing title as evidence. Where it says 'Home Decor Items For Hall' with no dimensions and no weight, you are reading a string written for a search box, and the photograph is the only specification you are going to get. Our AJIO coupon page tracks the site-wide codes and bank offers that move the final number at checkout, and for the same reading applied elsewhere our AJIO ethnic price-per-piece piece and Marks & Spencer nursery shelf are worth a cross-check.

Every price and stated MRP on this page comes from AJIO's own search response on July 29, 2026 — 157 in-stock listings carrying a discount, 78 of them kidswear and 79 home furnishing. We deliberately pulled two unrelated aisles in one sitting so the numbers could be compared against each other rather than against our impressions.
The kidswear median discount in that sample is 70% and the home furnishing median is 40%. Thirty-nine of the 78 kidswear listings are at 70% off or more; only eight of the 79 home listings are. Same store, same day, same badge design — and a completely different pricing grammar depending on which aisle you have walked into.
Rs. 1,999 is the most common MRP in the sample, appearing on nineteen listings that sell from Rs. 320 to Rs. 1,299. Twelve sets from one seller all carry that same Rs. 1,999. Meanwhile eighteen home listings sit at exactly 10% off, fifteen of them from one seller, at prices from Rs. 631 to Rs. 8,037. Neither pattern is a discount; both are a field being filled in a particular way.
AJIO's search response carried no customer rating and no review count for a single one of these 157 listings, so this page has no rating pills and no scores of our own — we are not going to invent a quality signal where the data has none. Several sellers here list under names that exist mainly on marketplaces, and many titles are keyword strings rather than descriptions, with no dimensions or weights. Prices read July 29, 2026.
Because the two aisles are sold by different kinds of seller. In our July 29, 2026 pull of 157 discounted listings, thirty-nine of the 78 kidswear items were at 70% off or more, against only eight of the 79 home items. Kidswear here is dominated by marketplace-only labels whose reference prices nobody can check, so an MRP of Rs. 1,999 can sit over a set selling at Rs. 320. The home aisle has more sellers running flat pricing rules — one had fifteen listings at exactly 10% off — and more products whose real prices shoppers already know.
Not usually, on this shelf. Rs. 1,999 was the most common stated MRP in our sample, appearing on nineteen listings, and those nineteen sold for anywhere between Rs. 320 and Rs. 1,299 — badges from 84% down to 35% under one identical number. One seller had put Rs. 1,999 on all twelve of the children's sets it listed, whatever the garment. Treat the MRP as a field someone filled in rather than a price anyone ever charged, and compare selling prices instead.
Rs. 220 in our picks, for a printed two-piece girls' set, with several boys' shirt-and-shorts sets at Rs. 221. The better arithmetic is a pack of three sets at Rs. 312, which works out at Rs. 52 per garment across six pieces — the cheapest per-item number on the page by a wide margin. Multipacks are where kidswear pricing gets genuinely competitive, because the buyer can divide the price out and the seller cannot dress it up.
Because a few sellers apply a flat rule rather than pricing each product. Eighteen of the 79 home furnishing listings we read carried a badge of exactly 10%, and fifteen of those came from one seller whose products ranged from Rs. 631 to Rs. 8,037 — the same percentage at twelve times the price. It is the most honest block on the shelf in one sense: a reference price only ten percent above the selling price is unlikely to be fictional.
Assume it is smaller than it looks and read the photograph for scale clues. Several sellers on this shelf title listings with keyword strings — 'Home Decor Items For Hall', 'Show Piece For Living Room' — and give no size, weight or material detail at all. For brass pieces the weight is effectively the specification, and none of the seven we read stated it. If the picture has nothing familiar in it for scale, that is a reason to be cautious rather than a reason to assume the object is large.
