Zoutons Picks — Croma Cameras and Print, July 2026

Subtract the bare-body price from each Instax bundle and the film costs exactly Rs. 50 a shot — in every box but one.

Prices & codes last verified July 31, 2026

The short of it Croma imaging, 78 listings read on July 31. The bare Mini 12 is Rs. 7,499, so the Delight Box prices film at Rs. 50 a shot — and the Mega Pack at Rs. 37.50, the only bundle that breaks the rate. Elsewhere: a Full HD projector at Rs. 11,099 undercuts the HD one, and the Rs. 2.38 lakh Sony gets 2% off.

We read 78 in-stock camera, action-camera, projector and printer listings from Croma's own search responses on July 31, 2026, and nineteen of them — a full quarter of the aisle — turned out to be the same two Fujifilm Instax bodies sold in six different boxes. That would be an unremarkable observation except for one thing: Croma also sells both bodies bare, the Mini 12 at Rs. 7,499 and the older Mini 11 at Rs. 5,999, which means the film inside every bundle can be priced to the rupee. Do the subtraction and a rate appears. The Mini 12 Delight Box adds ten shots for five hundred rupees. The Moments Box adds twenty for a thousand. The step from the Mini SE Fun Pack with ten shots to the Joy Pack with forty adds thirty shots for fifteen hundred. Fifty rupees a shot, fifty rupees a shot, fifty rupees a shot — three different boxes across two different bodies, all landing on the same number, which is roughly what Instax Mini film costs at Indian retail anyway. Then there is the Mini 12 Mega Pack at Rs. 8,999, which adds forty shots to a Rs. 7,499 body for fifteen hundred rupees. Thirty-seven rupees fifty a shot. Twenty-five per cent below every other bundle on the shelf, on the only consumable this camera has, and absolutely nothing on the page says so — the Mega Pack's badge reads twenty-five per cent, which is a smaller number than the Delight Box's twenty-seven, so anyone sorting by discount walks straight past it. Outside the Instax shelf the aisle has a second shape, and it is one we have found before on other shelves but rarely this cleanly. The median discount across all 78 listings is twenty-two per cent, which is shallow for consumer electronics, and the spread of it tracks how well you know the brand. Every badge above forty-five per cent came from Qubo, Portronics or XElectron. Fujifilm's nineteen listings sat between eighteen and twenty-seven per cent. HP's twenty-one ran ten to thirty-eight. And at the bottom, where the bodies are cross-shopped by people who already know the street price, Nikon ran three to seventeen and Sony ran two to nineteen — a Rs. 2,38,990 full-frame body carrying a two per cent badge while a Rs. 1,824 dashcam carries seventy. Our reads of Croma's gadget shelf and percentages versus rupees cover the same arithmetic in other aisles.

Every price below was pulled from Croma on July 31, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Croma coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

How to buy a camera or a printer when the badge is measuring the wrong thing

Four rules come out of a 78-listing read where the median discount is 22% and the deepest one sits on the cheapest item. First: when a product is sold both bare and bundled, subtract. It takes ten seconds, it works on every camera kit, console bundle and appliance combo in Indian retail, and on this shelf it is the difference between paying Rs. 50 a shot for Instax film and paying Rs. 37.50 — which no badge, tile or filter on the page would have surfaced. Second: for printers, ignore the machine price and ask one question — cartridges or refillable ink. A Rs. 2,499 cartridge printer is the right buy for someone who prints twice a year and the wrong buy for anyone else, because the ink costs a meaningful fraction of the printer every time. Somewhere around a few thousand pages the Rs. 12,199 ink tank overtakes it and never gives the lead back. Third: treat a lumen claim under Rs. 20,000 as marketing rather than measurement, and judge a projector on panel resolution and brand service instead. On this shelf that rule alone puts a Full HD Portronics at Rs. 11,099 ahead of the same brand's HD model at Rs. 15,599, both declaring the same Rs. 32,250 MRP. Fourth: at the expensive end, stop reading percentages altogether. Sony at 2% and Nikon at 3% are not bad deals — they are what a price looks like when every buyer already knows it. Cross-check the body against two other retailers and buy on warranty and stock instead. Our Croma coupon page tracks live cart codes, and our read on what Croma does not discount and the piece on its ratings without counts are the two companion pages to this one.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: the Instax duplicates we describe inside the picks rather than giving separate slots — three more Mini SE Fun Pack colourways at Rs. 6,999, three more Joy Pack colours at Rs. 8,499, the second Mini 12 colourway at Rs. 7,499, two more Delight Box colours at Rs. 7,999, the Moments Box with 20 shots at Rs. 8,499, the Mini 12 Mega Pack's second colour, the Instax Pal at Rs. 10,999 and two Mini LiPlay listings at Rs. 16,499. The printer siblings that differ by a model number and a few hundred rupees: the HP DeskJet 2989 at Rs. 5,689, the 4278 at Rs. 6,799, the Ultra 4929 at Rs. 7,809, the Smart Tank 585 at Rs. 14,359, 675 at Rs. 18,809, 750 at Rs. 23,989 and 790 at Rs. 26,669, and six HP mono lasers between Rs. 13,465 and Rs. 23,529. The office machines that are not household purchases: four Konica Minolta multifunction printers at Rs. 47,800, Rs. 1,38,549, Rs. 2,30,449 and Rs. 3,81,219 — the last of which carries a stated MRP of Rs. 5,67,392, the highest in the read. And the camera bodies we could not justify a slot for against the picks we made: the Nikon D7500 at Rs. 78,990, the Z 30 at Rs. 83,149, the Z 50II at Rs. 1,04,999, the Sony A7 III at Rs. 1,57,280 and the A7C2 body at Rs. 1,74,074, plus the Canon PowerShot V10 at Rs. 33,004 and four more DJI and GoPro variants between Rs. 23,990 and Rs. 60,990.

What we look for

We read Croma's own imaging listings

Every selling price, stated MRP and discount percentage on this page comes from Croma's own search responses on July 31, 2026 — 78 in-stock listings across cameras, action cameras, projectors and printers. Prices in the read ran from Rs. 1,824 to Rs. 3,81,219, a two-hundred-fold range inside one aisle, across 63 distinct stated MRPs and 66 distinct selling prices.

Then we subtracted the bare-body price from every bundle

Nineteen listings — a quarter of the read — are the Instax Mini SE and Mini 12 sold in six different boxes. Because Croma also lists both bodies on their own (Mini 12 at Rs. 7,499, Mini 11 at Rs. 5,999), the film in each bundle can be priced exactly. The Delight Box adds 10 shots for Rs. 500. The Moments Box adds 20 for Rs. 1,000. The Fun Pack to Joy Pack step adds 30 for Rs. 1,500. All three are Rs. 50 a shot. The Mega Pack adds 40 shots for Rs. 1,500 — Rs. 37.50 a shot, and the only bundle on the shelf that breaks the rate.

And we checked what the badge tracks across the aisle

The median discount across all 78 listings is 22%, and the badge tracks how well-known the brand is rather than how good the deal is. Qubo 70%, Portronics 52-66%, XElectron 47% at the top. Fujifilm 18-27% across 19 listings. HP 10-38% across 21. And at the bottom, Nikon at 3-17% across four listings and Sony at 2-19% across three. The single deepest badge in the read sits on the cheapest item; the single shallowest sits on the most expensive.

So no pick here shows a rating, because none is publishable

Twenty-four of the 78 listings displayed a star rating and not one of them carried a review count — including a 5.0 and three separate 1.0 scores. A rating with no sample behind it is not evidence, so we publish none of them and say so here instead. Every pick below leads with the rupees and names the stated MRP the percentage was computed from. Stated MRPs are the seller's own figures, which we report and do not verify. Prices read July 31, 2026.

FAQs

Which Instax bundle is the best value on Croma right now?

The Instax Mini 12 Mega Pack at Rs. 8,999 with 40 shots. Croma sells the bare Mini 12 at Rs. 7,499, so the forty shots cost Rs. 1,500 — Rs. 37.50 a shot. Every other bundle on the shelf prices film at exactly Rs. 50 a shot: the Delight Box adds 10 shots for Rs. 500, the Moments Box adds 20 for Rs. 1,000, and the Mini SE Fun Pack to Joy Pack step adds 30 for Rs. 1,500. The Mega Pack's discount badge reads 25%, which is smaller than the Delight Box's 27%, so sorting by discount hides it.

Should I buy the Instax Mini 11 or the Mini 12?

The Mini 12 at Rs. 7,499 if the camera will get used regularly; the Mini 11 at Rs. 5,999 if it is a gift or an occasional thing. The Mini 12 adds a twist-to-power lens, an automatic close-up mode instead of a clip-on adapter, and a parallax-corrected viewfinder — which in practice means the picture you take at arm's length contains the face you aimed at. Rs. 1,500 separates them. Whichever you choose, budget separately for film, which is the real running cost of instant photography.

Why are Sony and Nikon cameras barely discounted on Croma?

Because there is very little gap between the declared MRP and the price the market already knows. In our read of 78 listings on July 31, 2026, Sony's three listings carried badges of 2%, 3% and 19% and Nikon's four carried 3%, 9%, 12% and 17% — against an aisle median of 22% and a top end of 70% on a Rs. 1,824 dashcam. Serious camera bodies are cross-shopped across several retailers by buyers who know the street price. A 2% badge on a Rs. 2,38,990 body is not a bad deal; it is what a competitive price looks like.

Is an ink tank printer worth the extra money over a cartridge printer?

It depends entirely on volume, and the machine price is the wrong number to compare. The cheapest printer in our read is a Canon Pixma TS207 at Rs. 2,499, and for a household printing a form twice a year it is the correct buy. But cartridge refills cost a large fraction of a cheap printer's price, while an ink tank refills from bottles at roughly a tenth of the per-page cost. The Epson EcoTank M1120 at Rs. 12,199 is the cheapest ink tank in the read; somewhere around a few thousand pages it overtakes the cartridge machine on total cost.

Which projector should I buy from Croma under Rs. 20,000?

The Portronics Beem 420 at Rs. 11,099, 66% off a stated Rs. 32,250. It has a Full HD panel and it is Rs. 4,500 cheaper than the same brand's older HD Beem 410 at Rs. 15,599, which declares the identical Rs. 32,250 MRP. If a projector is an experiment rather than a purchase, the XElectron S2 at Rs. 5,899 is the cheapest Full HD option. Treat every lumen claim in this price band as the seller's own number — all of these will look good in a dark room and washed out with a lamp on.

More Croma coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every selling price, stated MRP and discount percentage here was read from Croma's own search responses on July 31, 2026 — 78 in-stock camera, projector and printer listings — and all of them can change without notice. The per-shot film arithmetic is our own calculation, derived by subtracting Croma's own bare-body prices (Rs. 7,499 for the Instax Mini 12, Rs. 5,999 for the Mini 11) from Croma's own bundle prices on the same date; if either the body price or a bundle price moves, the rate moves with it, and we would expect it to. Our comparison to Indian retail film prices of roughly Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,200 for a twenty-shot twin pack is a general market observation rather than a figure read from this shelf. Stated MRPs are the seller's own declared numbers, which we report and do not verify as prices anything has sold at. Twenty-four listings in the read displayed a star rating with no review count attached — including one 5.0 and three separate 1.0 scores — and we publish none of them, because a score with no sample behind it is not evidence; the absence of rating pills on this page is deliberate. Lumen figures, resolution claims, sensor sizes, page-yield implications and feature lists are the listings' and manufacturers' own claims, and lumen numbers on inexpensive projectors in particular are not independently measured. Comments on product behaviour — cartridge ink costing a large fraction of a cheap printer, ink tanks overtaking cartridges at volume, laser output not smudging, action-camera mounting standards persisting across generations, projectors washing out in lit rooms — reflect general understanding of these products rather than testing we have done. Our observation that discount depth tracks brand recognition describes the 78 listings we read on this date and is our analysis, not a statement about Croma's or any manufacturer's pricing policy. We have not used any product on this page.
