Zoutons Picks — Croma Gaming & Entertainment, July 2026

Across 197 Croma listings the discounts avoid the things people arrive intending to buy — and cluster on the things they do not.

Prices & codes last verified July 30, 2026

The short of it Croma gaming and entertainment, read across 197 listings on July 30. The pattern: 22 of 23 PlayStations at exactly MRP and all six Sonos listings too. The inversion: 94% off, Rs. 104. The artefact: a laptop priced above its own MRP. Best buy: Rs. 1,35,990, 31% off.

We read 197 in-stock listings from Croma's own search API on July 30, 2026 — gaming laptops, consoles, gaming monitors, soundbars, party speakers, headsets, controllers and streaming devices — and the useful exercise turned out to be counting the listings with no discount at all rather than ranking the ones with the deepest. There were fifty-four, and they are not a random fifty-four. Twenty-two of the twenty-three PlayStation listings Croma returned were priced at exactly MRP: every capacity, every colourway, every game bundle, no badge anywhere. All six Sonos listings were at exactly MRP. Bose managed 0%, 0%, 1% and 5% across four listings, and a one per cent reduction on a Rs. 38,400 speaker is Rs. 384, which is not a reason to do anything. The single most expensive object in the entire read, a Rs. 1,09,999 party speaker, carries nothing off. Then look at the other end. The deepest badge we found anywhere in 197 listings is 94%, and it sits on a Rs. 104 gaming headset — the cheapest thing on the shelf. A Croma-branded party speaker is 75% off; a Logitech headset 71%; a boAt soundbar 67%. The discount, in other words, tracks almost exactly how little you wanted the item before you arrived. Two more findings worth flagging before the picks. Three of the 197 listings were priced above their own stated MRP, including a gaming laptop at Rs. 96,990 against a stated Rs. 94,933 — most likely a feed artefact rather than anything intentional, but a clean demonstration that the MRP is a field in a response rather than a verified fact. And the evidence runs the same way as the money: Croma returned a rating for only 82 of the 197 listings, a Rs. 54,990 console carries nine ratings, a Rs. 49,999 soundbar carries four, and the largest sample in the whole read — 181 — belongs to a Rs. 1,794 streaming stick. Our Croma electronics coupon guide and bank offers page cover the levers that do move a full-price console.

Every price below was pulled from Croma on July 30, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Croma coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

How to buy on a shelf where the discount avoids the good stuff

Four rules follow from 54 zeros in 197 listings. First: for consoles and premium audio, stop waiting. Twenty-two of twenty-three PlayStations and six of six Sonos listings sat at exactly MRP on the day we read them, so a sale is not a strategy — the levers that actually move these prices are bank offers, exchange values and no-cost EMI, none of which show up as a badge on the listing. Second: never sort a laptop shelf by discount. One Lenovo model line gave us seven listings with badges from 13% to 37%, and the 13%-badged machine costs Rs. 21,000 more than the 31%-badged one while a different 13% machine costs Rs. 55,000 less. Compare memory, storage and generation, and ignore the percentage entirely. Third: treat an unrounded MRP as a number to discount mentally. Rs. 2,41,251 produced the biggest claimed rupee gap in our read, Rs. 91,261, and three listings were priced above their own stated MRP. Judge the Rs. 1,49,990 you would pay against the Rs. 1,35,990 alternative, not against the Rs. 2,41,251 nobody can verify. Fourth: read the rating count before the score, because on this shelf it is almost always tiny. Nine ratings on a Rs. 54,990 console and four on a Rs. 49,999 soundbar are not a consensus, and the only listing here with a real crowd behind it costs Rs. 1,794. Our Croma coupon page tracks live codes, and our laptop exchange guide and TV offers page cover the discounts that never appear as a percentage.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: the rest of the PlayStation block, which repeats a single finding nineteen more times — same two prices, same zero discount, different bundled game. Colourway duplicates, which Croma returns as separate listings, including the Arc Ultra in white and black at an identical Rs. 99,999. The Rs. 104-to-Rs. 400 accessory tail of cables, remotes and mounts, where the badge is a rounding artefact on a sub-Rs. 500 item. Extended-warranty listings, which the search returns alongside hardware and which are a service rather than a product. Two more monitors from the Odyssey range that make the same point as the ones we kept. And every listing whose only claim on a place here was a bigger percentage than its neighbour — which, on a shelf where the biggest percentage in 197 listings belongs to the cheapest object in them, is not a claim.

What we look for

We read Croma's own gaming and entertainment listings

Every price, stated MRP, rating and rating count here comes from Croma's own search API on July 30, 2026 — 197 in-stock listings across gaming laptops, consoles, gaming monitors, soundbars, party speakers, headsets, controllers and streaming devices. We picked this aisle because it mixes things people research for months with things they add to a basket at the till, which makes it the clearest place to see whether a discount tracks desire.

Then we counted the zeros, which is where the story was

Fifty-four of the 197 listings carried no discount at all, and they are not a random fifty-four. Twenty-two of the twenty-three PlayStation listings were priced at exactly MRP. All six Sonos listings were at exactly MRP. Bose managed 0%, 0%, 1% and 5% across four listings; Marshall 0%, 0%, 0%, 5% and 25% across five. The most expensive item in the entire read, at Rs. 1,09,999, has no badge. Meanwhile the deepest badge we found, 94%, sits on the cheapest object we found, at Rs. 104.

And we checked the MRP field, which does not always behave

Three of the 197 listings were priced above their own stated MRP: a gaming laptop at Rs. 96,990 against a stated Rs. 94,933, a PS5 game at Rs. 2,099 against Rs. 1,999, and a headset at Rs. 16,495 against Rs. 15,495. We report these as data artefacts rather than allegations — the likeliest cause is a feed error, not intent — but they are a useful reminder that the MRP is a field in a response, not a verified fact. Unrounded MRPs such as Rs. 2,41,251 and Rs. 1,97,290 sit in the same category.

So we printed every rating count, because they are all small

Croma returned a rating for only 82 of the 197 listings, and the largest sample on anything was 208. A Rs. 54,990 console carried nine ratings; a Rs. 49,999 soundbar carried four; a Rs. 16,495 headset carried one. The single largest evidence base in the whole read — 181 ratings — belongs to a Rs. 1,794 streaming stick. We show the count beside every score for that reason, and where Croma returned no rating we show no pill rather than inventing one. Prices read July 30, 2026.

FAQs

Does Croma ever discount the PlayStation 5?

Not in the read we did. Of the twenty-three PlayStation listings Croma's search API returned on July 30, 2026, twenty-two were priced at exactly MRP — Rs. 49,990 for the digital consoles and Rs. 54,990 for the disc models, with bundles at Rs. 58,190 — and none carried a discount badge. That is a description of one day's data rather than a permanent rule, but it is consistent enough to plan around: the levers that move a console price are bank offers, exchange value and no-cost EMI rather than a percentage on the listing.

Why does a laptop with a smaller discount cost more than one with a bigger discount?

Because the badge measures the gap to a stated MRP, and the MRPs differ. In our read one Lenovo model line produced seven listings with MRPs from Rs. 1,16,890 to Rs. 1,97,290 and badges from 13% to 37%. The 13%-badged 14th-gen machine cost Rs. 1,56,990 while the 31%-badged 13th-gen machine cost Rs. 1,35,990 — Rs. 21,000 less, for a single processor generation. A different 13%-badged machine cost Rs. 1,01,990. Sorting a laptop shelf by discount will reliably show you the more expensive option first.

Which Croma gaming laptop is the best buy right now?

On the specification-to-price relationship in our July 30 read, the 13th-generation Core i7 LOQ at Rs. 1,35,990 with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. It is Rs. 21,000 cheaper than the 14th-generation version of the same line and gives up one processor generation, which on gaming laptops is typically a single-digit performance difference. The 37%-badged Ryzen 7 machine at Rs. 1,19,990 looks stronger on the badge but halves the storage to 512GB, and modern titles run past 100GB each. Croma returned no rating for any of these listings.

Can a product really be priced above its own MRP?

In the data, yes — three of our 197 listings were. A gaming laptop showed Rs. 96,990 against a stated MRP of Rs. 94,933, a PS5 game Rs. 2,099 against Rs. 1,999, and a headset Rs. 16,495 against Rs. 15,495. We treat these as feed or pricing-sync artefacts rather than intent, and we are not alleging anything about how Croma prices. The useful takeaway is that the MRP is a field in a response rather than a verified fact, which is also why we would not judge a Rs. 1,49,990 laptop against a stated Rs. 2,41,251.

How much should I trust Croma's star ratings on expensive electronics?

Read the count first, and expect it to be very small. Croma returned a rating for only 82 of the 197 listings we read, and the largest sample on anything was 208. A Rs. 54,990 console carried nine ratings, a Rs. 49,999 soundbar carried four, and a Rs. 16,495 headset carried one. The single largest evidence base in the whole read — 181 ratings — belongs to a Rs. 1,794 streaming stick. On a five-figure purchase we would read reviews somewhere with a real sample size, and we show no rating pill at all where Croma returned no score.

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price, stated MRP, rating and rating count here was read from Croma's own search API on July 30, 2026 — 197 in-stock listings across gaming laptops, consoles, monitors, soundbars, party speakers, headsets and streaming devices — and can change without notice. The counts we cite (54 of 197 at no discount, 22 of 23 PlayStation listings at exactly MRP, all six Sonos listings at exactly MRP, seven Lenovo LOQ listings spanning 13% to 37%, ratings returned for only 82 listings with a maximum sample of 208) are our own analysis of that sample on that date; a larger or later pull would shift the exact figures. The three listings we found priced above their own stated MRP are reported as data artefacts — the likeliest explanation is a feed or pricing-sync error rather than intent — and we make no allegation about how Croma sets prices. Stated MRPs, including unrounded figures such as Rs. 2,41,251 and Rs. 94,933, are the seller's own numbers; we report them and do not verify that any item has sold at them. Rupees-per-watt and per-generation comparisons are our own arithmetic from specifications stated in the listing titles. Rating pills show the score and count Croma itself returned, and where Croma returned no rating no pill appears. Comments on product characteristics (disc drives allowing second-hand purchase, memory and storage ageing, soundbar channel counts against room size, warranty and support chains) reflect general understanding of these categories rather than testing we have done.
