Vijay Sales electronics August 2026 collage - Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 laptop, Zebronics headphones, Sony WH-CH720N and Fastrack Reflex Play smartwatch
Zoutons Picks — Vijay Sales Electronics, August 2026

118 Vijay Sales listings across five categories, read on August 5. Sorting this shelf by discount percentage reliably steers you to the cheapest object on it. Twenty-one picks, with the rupees printed beside every badge.

Prices & codes last verified August 5, 2026

Every discount on a retail shelf is published twice: once as a percentage, in red, and once as an amount of money, which you have to work out yourself. On August 5, 2026 we read 118 Vijay Sales listings across five category pages - mobiles, laptops, headphones, smart-watches and tablets, every row with a price, a stated MRP above it and an image - and computed both numbers for all of them. The two do not agree, and the gap is not small. The deepest badge in the entire pull is 76 per cent, and it removes Rs. 3,800 from a pair of Zebronics headphones. The largest amount of money removed by any listing is Rs. 108,991, on a Lenovo laptop carrying a 59 per cent badge, and an HP OMEN gaming laptop at just 30 per cent removes Rs. 81,382 - twenty-one times as much money as the shelf's headline discount, from a number less than half its size. Put per point of discount: on the Zebronics, one percentage point is worth Rs. 50; on the HP, Rs. 2,552. A shopper who sorts this shelf by percentage will land on the cheapest object in the shop every single time, which is a fine outcome if that is what they wanted and a poor one otherwise. The same inversion runs through the category medians: headphones carry a 39 per cent median badge worth Rs. 4,100, laptops a smaller 35.5 per cent worth Rs. 56,094, and tablets the smallest of all at 16 per cent and Rs. 6,500. Along the way the stickers themselves are worth reading: two unrelated phones, a Redmi and a vivo, share a stated MRP of exactly Rs. 26,999, and on the Redmi the claimed saving of Rs. 13,500 is one rupee more than the price you pay. At the other end a Bose flagship carries an 8 per cent badge and a Lenovo tablet is discounted by exactly one rupee - and those small numbers are the trustworthy ones, because a sticker close to the price is usually a sticker somebody could charge. We applied a similar test to this retailer's appliance shelf, and read the same catalogue by budget rung earlier this month. None of these 118 listings carries a rating.

Every price below was pulled from Vijay Sales on August 5, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Vijay Sales coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Four rules for shopping a shelf where the badge misleads

First: do the subtraction before you do anything else. Stated MRP minus selling price is the only number that describes what you are saving, and on this shelf it disagrees with the percentage almost everywhere. Second: never compare badges across price bands. A 76 per cent discount on a Rs. 4,999 sticker and a 30 per cent discount on a Rs. 272,381 one are not the same kind of event, and only one of them involves real money. Third: treat a small badge on an expensive item as a signal of an honest sticker rather than a poor deal - the Bose at 8 per cent and the Sony XM6 at 20 per cent are priced near where they launch, which is why their reference prices are believable. Fourth: check for duplicate listings before ordering. This retailer lists the same Sony WH-CH720N at Rs. 9,299 and Rs. 9,499, the same Fastrack watch three times, and several Samsung and OnePlus products repeatedly; two minutes of searching the model name can save a few hundred rupees. Our read of what an energy star costs at this retailer uses the same rupee-first method, and the Vijay Sales coupons page holds the bank offers that stack on these prices.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: 97 of the 118 listings. The largest group is duplicates - the retailer lists many products more than once, and we seated one entry each while leaving out two more Fastrack Limitless FS2 listings at Rs. 1,599, a second Sony WH-CH720N at Rs. 9,499, a second Zebronics Silencio at Rs. 2,899, two boAt Rockerz Prime 415 listings at Rs. 1,999, two JBL Tune 520BT listings at Rs. 2,999, three Sony WH-CH520 listings at Rs. 4,199, two Sony WH-1000XM5 listings at Rs. 28,990, two boAt Chrome Iris listings at Rs. 3,499, two Redmi Watch Move listings at Rs. 2,499, eight Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 variants between Rs. 37,999 and Rs. 44,999, four OnePlus Pad 4 entries between Rs. 59,999 and Rs. 64,999, four Redmi Pad 2 Pro entries and three Xiaomi Pad 8 entries. Beyond duplicates we left out roughly forty listings that restate a chapter without moving it: eleven more laptops between Rs. 39,990 and Rs. 129,999, nine more phones between Rs. 18,999 and Rs. 67,900 including an Apple iPhone 16 at Rs. 67,900 with a 3 per cent badge, seven more tablets between Rs. 16,999 and Rs. 43,999, and a dozen headphones and watches between Rs. 2,499 and Rs. 64,999. Nothing was excluded for being awkward: the one-rupee tablet discount and the Redmi whose claimed saving exceeds its price are both seated deliberately.

What we look for

Every discount is stated in rupees, and the percentage comes second

On August 5, 2026 we read 118 Vijay Sales listings across five category pages - mobiles, laptops, headphones, smart-watches and tablets - keeping every row that returned a price, a stated MRP above it and an image. Then we computed both numbers for each: the badge and the money. They do not agree. The deepest badge in the pull, 76 per cent, removes Rs. 3,800 from a pair of Zebronics headphones. The largest rupee reduction, Rs. 108,991, comes from a 59 per cent badge on a Lenovo laptop, and an HP OMEN at just 30 per cent removes Rs. 81,382 - twenty-one times the money for a number less than half the size. Expressed per point of discount, a percentage point is worth Rs. 50 on the Zebronics and Rs. 2,552 on the HP, a ratio of fifty-one to one. A shopper sorting by percentage is systematically pushed towards the cheapest object on the shelf.

Category medians are computed on comparable samples

Each of the five category pages contributed between 21 and 27 listings, so the medians can be read beside each other. Headphones carry a 39 per cent median badge and a Rs. 4,100 median saving; smart-watches 20 per cent and Rs. 2,000; laptops 35.5 per cent and Rs. 56,094; mobiles 26 per cent and Rs. 13,000; tablets 16 per cent and Rs. 6,500. Two things follow. First, the categories with the deepest badges are not the categories with the biggest savings - laptops sit below headphones on percentage and thirteen times above them in rupees. Second, tablets are the least discounted category on this shelf by both measures, which is worth knowing before you shop one.

We name the stickers that look constructed rather than historical

Two listings in this pull state an MRP of exactly Rs. 26,999 - a Redmi A7 Pro selling at Rs. 13,499 and a vivo T5e selling at Rs. 13,999 - which means two unrelated phones from two manufacturers share a reference price. On the Redmi, the claimed saving of Rs. 13,500 is one rupee larger than the price you actually pay, which is what a sticker set at exactly double the selling price produces. At the other end, a Bose flagship carries an 8 per cent badge and a Lenovo tablet a one-rupee one, and those are the numbers we trust: a small gap between sticker and price usually means the sticker is real. We are describing what the listings displayed on one morning and are not alleging that any retailer or brand has misrepresented a price.

No rating pill appears, and duplicate listings are flagged rather than counted twice

None of the 118 listings carried a star score or a rating count, so there is no crowd evidence on this page and no rating pill renders anywhere on it. Every judgement here rests on prices and on the specifications each listing states. Vijay Sales also lists several products more than once - three identical Fastrack Limitless FS2 entries at Rs. 1,599, two Sony WH-CH720N listings at Rs. 9,299 and Rs. 9,499, two Sony WH-1000XM5 listings at Rs. 28,990, several Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 variants and several OnePlus Pad 4 entries - which inflates a naive count of a category. We deduplicated by name and price before computing any median, seated one listing per product, and noted in the seats where a second listing of the same product exists at a different price, because that difference is money a shopper can save by checking.

FAQs

Does a bigger discount percentage mean I save more money?

Not on this shelf, and usually not on any shelf. Across the 118 Vijay Sales listings we read on August 5, 2026, the deepest badge was 76 per cent on a pair of Zebronics headphones, and it removed Rs. 3,800 from the price. The largest amount of money removed by any listing was Rs. 108,991, on a Lenovo laptop with a 59 per cent badge, and an HP OMEN carrying just 30 per cent removed Rs. 81,382 - twenty-one times the money from a number less than half the size. The reason is arithmetic rather than deception: a percentage is a proportion of the sticker, and stickers on this shelf range from Rs. 2,490 to Rs. 272,381. Do the subtraction yourself before comparing anything, and never compare percentages across price bands.

Which category has the best discounts at Vijay Sales?

It depends entirely on whether you mean percentage or money, and the answer flips. By percentage, headphones lead with a 39 per cent median badge, followed by laptops at 35.5, mobiles at 26, smart-watches at 20 and tablets at 16. By rupees, the order is almost reversed: laptops save a median Rs. 56,094, mobiles Rs. 13,000, tablets Rs. 6,500, headphones Rs. 4,100 and smart-watches Rs. 2,000. Tablets are the least discounted category on both measures, which is worth knowing before shopping one here. The practical reading is that if you were going to buy a laptop anyway, this shelf is where the real money moves; if you were browsing for a bargain, the percentages will steer you to a Rs. 1,199 pair of headphones.

Why do two different phones show the same Rs. 26,999 MRP?

We cannot say why, only that they do. A Redmi A7 Pro selling at Rs. 13,499 and a vivo T5e selling at Rs. 13,999 both state an MRP of exactly Rs. 26,999 in our pull - two phones from two unrelated manufacturers with an identical reference price. On the Redmi that produces a 50 per cent badge and a claimed saving of Rs. 13,500, which is one rupee more than the price you actually pay. A sticker set at precisely double a selling price looks like a round-number choice rather than a market history. This is not unusual in Indian electronics retail and it is not evidence of wrongdoing, but it is a good reason to treat the stated MRP as a number to ignore and to judge both phones against each other and against other Rs. 13,500 phones instead.

Are the small discounts on Sony and Bose headphones worth taking?

In rupees, yes, and they are more real than the large ones. The Sony WH-1000XM6 at Rs. 39,990 carries a 20 per cent badge worth Rs. 10,000, and the Bose QuietComfort Ultra at Rs. 45,900 carries an 8 per cent badge worth Rs. 4,000 - and that Rs. 4,000, from the second-smallest percentage on this page, is still more money than the 76 per cent headline discount delivers. Small badges on flagship audio usually mean the stated MRP is close to the actual launch price, which makes it a number you can trust. If you are choosing between a Rs. 1,499 pair claiming active noise cancellation and one of these, understand that both listings use the same words for very different systems: cheap ANC attenuates a narrow band of low-frequency rumble, while these are the reference designs of the category.

Should I check for duplicate listings before buying at Vijay Sales?

Yes, and it takes about two minutes. This retailer lists many products more than once, sometimes at different prices - in our pull the Sony WH-CH720N appeared at both Rs. 9,299 and Rs. 9,499, the Fastrack Limitless FS2 appeared three times at Rs. 1,599, several Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 variants appeared repeatedly between Rs. 37,999 and Rs. 44,999, and four OnePlus Pad 4 entries ran from Rs. 59,999 to Rs. 64,999. Some of those differences are genuine variants and some appear to be the same configuration listed twice. Searching the exact model name and comparing every result before ordering costs nothing and can save a couple of hundred rupees, and it also protects you from assuming a category is bigger or more competitive than it is.

More Vijay Sales coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price, stated MRP and discount percentage here was read from vijaysales.com on August 5, 2026, across five category pages - mobiles, laptops, headphones, smart-watches and tablets - keeping only listings that returned a price, a stated MRP above that price and an image, which yielded 118 deduplicated rows. Vijay Sales renders its product grid once per category page with client-side pagination, so this pull represents the listings served on those pages on that morning rather than the retailer's full catalogue, and prices change without notice and may differ between the website and a physical store. All rupee savings on this page are the arithmetic difference between a listing's stated MRP and its selling price, and all per-point figures are that difference divided by the badge percentage. The category medians quoted - headphones 39 per cent and Rs. 4,100, smart-watches 20 per cent and Rs. 2,000, laptops 35.5 per cent and Rs. 56,094, mobiles 26 per cent and Rs. 13,000, tablets 16 per cent and Rs. 6,500 - are computed from those 118 rows. A stated MRP is a reference figure rather than evidence that anyone has paid it, and a large gap between a stated MRP and a selling price is not by itself evidence of wrongdoing; reference prices commonly persist after a product's market price has moved, particularly in laptops where configurations change quickly. Where we note that two unrelated phones share a stated MRP of Rs. 26,999, or that one listing's claimed saving exceeds its selling price by a rupee, we are describing what the listings displayed and are not alleging misrepresentation by Vijay Sales or by any brand named here. None of the 118 listings carried a star rating or a rating count, so no rating pill renders on this page and nothing here is a quality assessment. Every specification quoted - RAM and storage capacities, processor and graphics names, display sizes and panel types, battery claims, noise cancellation, sports modes and connectivity - is the retailer's listing claim, reported as a claim and not verified by us. We have not handled, used, listened to or benchmarked any product on this page. Warranty terms, exchange offers, EMI conditions and return windows should be checked with the retailer before ordering.
