Prices & codes last verified August 9, 2026

We pulled 117 men's formalwear listings from AJIO's own product data on August 9, 2026 and grouped them by brand before reading a single discount. The bands are startlingly clean: unbranded sellers between 67 and 83 per cent, Arrow capped at 65 across twenty listings, Peter England capped at 43 across nine, Charles Tyrwhitt flat at 25. The badge runs backwards to the price ladder, so the cheapest shirts show the biggest numbers and the best-value trouser on the shelf shows the smallest one. AJIO publishes no ratings at all, on any row.

Every price below was pulled from AJIO on August 9, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our AJIO coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

“The smallest badge in 117 listings - 29 per cent - sits on a trouser that undercuts every brand-house pair on the shelf.” Zoutons Editorial Team

Five rules for buying formalwear on this shelf

First: learn the brand's band before you read its badge - Peter England has not exceeded 43 per cent once in 117 rows, so waiting for a deeper cut on that label is waiting for nothing. Second: sort by rupees, because the shallowest badge here sits on the best-value trouser and the deepest sits on a shirt with no brand and no ratings behind it, the same inversion this series found when two accessories nine rupees apart carried seventy-two points of badge between them. Third: treat the unbranded end as a price test rather than a purchase - at Rs. 306 a shirt that disappoints has cost you a lunch, which is the only sane way to buy on a shelf with no reviews, as 226 AJIO listings with nothing to go on showed in July. Fourth: check the coupon threshold before you build the cart, because AJIO's own codes generally need a cart value that a single Rs. 400 shirt will not reach. Fifth: on suits, remember that everything under about Rs. 5,000 in Indian retail is fused rather than canvassed - a real construction difference that no listing on this shelf states.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: 93 of the 117 listings. The largest exclusion is catalogue repetition within single sellers - Buda Jeans Co's nine near-identical shirts and trousers between Rs. 306 and Rs. 533, Haul Chic's three Rs. 500-527 trousers, NETPLAY's duplicate Rs. 638 and Rs. 662 trousers, The Indian Garage Co's four shirts between Rs. 462 and Rs. 522, and Showoff's four blazers between Rs. 2,441 and Rs. 4,514 all at an identical 65 per cent. We also left out the middle of Arrow's twenty-listing ladder, six further Louis Philippe and Peter England rows that repeat a rung already seated, three Vastramay and Crimsoune Club blazers between Rs. 1,549 and Rs. 3,079, Tahvo's five blazers between Rs. 3,849 and Rs. 5,399, Selected's three at Rs. 5,500 to Rs. 7,500, two Marks & Spencer blazers, a Raymond trouser at Rs. 943, three Ad By Arvind rows, a Snitch shirt at Rs. 1,195 and a second Charles Tyrwhitt blazer at Rs. 23,249. Nothing was excluded for being a bad garment.

What we look for

We grouped 117 listings by the brand behind them before reading a single badge

Doing that is what produced this page. Buda Jeans Co's nine listings run 67 to 83 per cent off, John Players' eleven run 50 to 80, Arrow's twenty run 30 to 65, Peter England's nine run 29 to 43 and Charles Tyrwhitt's two are both exactly 25. Those bands barely overlap and they run backwards to the price ladder - the cheaper the brand, the deeper the badge. Peter England and John Players belong to the same parent company and their bands do not meet at the top. A discount that clusters this cleanly by label is a commercial policy, not a sale.

We convert every badge into rupees and lead the card with the price

On this shelf the badge and the price point in opposite directions often enough that reading them together is essential. The deepest cut in the read, 83 per cent, saves a claimed Rs. 1,493 on a Rs. 306 shirt. The smallest, 29 per cent, sits on a Rs. 638 trouser that undercuts every brand-house trouser on the page. A shopper sorting by discount finds the first and never sees the second. Every card here prints the rupee price first, the rupee saving second and the percentage last, and says plainly where a claim looks constructed.

We say on every card that AJIO publishes no ratings at all

Not one of the 117 listings in this read carries a rating or a review count - not the Rs. 304 shirt, not the Rs. 27,656 blazer. That is a structural absence rather than an accident of our pull, and it changes how this shelf must be read: there is no crowd to consult, so the only evidence available is the price, the stated fabric and whatever the brand's name is worth to you. We have attached no rating pills anywhere on this page, and where a purchase rests on something we cannot verify - fused versus canvassed suit construction, collar durability, fabric weight - we say so rather than implying knowledge we do not have.

We seated one listing per price rung rather than repeating a catalogue

AJIO's formalwear catalogue repeats heavily: Buda Jeans Co has nine near-identical shirts and trousers between Rs. 306 and Rs. 533, Haul Chic lists the same Rs. 500 trouser twice, NETPLAY lists two identical Rs. 638 trousers and two Rs. 662 ones, and Showoff lists four blazers between Rs. 2,441 and Rs. 4,514 at an identical 65 per cent. Seating each would have produced forty cards making one point. We took one listing per distinct price-and-claim combination and described the repetition in the card, so the pick count reflects the number of real decisions on the shelf.

FAQs

Why are AJIO's biggest discounts always on brands nobody has heard of?

Because the badge is a property of the seller's stated MRP, and unbranded sellers set the largest claims. In our August 9, 2026 read of 117 AJIO menswear listings, Buda Jeans Co's nine rows carried badges of 67 to 83 per cent on prices between Rs. 306 and Rs. 533, while Arrow's twenty rows never exceeded 65 per cent and Peter England's nine never exceeded 43. Charles Tyrwhitt's two blazers, the dearest listings in the read, were both exactly 25 per cent off. The pattern runs backwards to the price ladder: the further down the brand hierarchy a listing sits, the bigger the number in its discount column.

Is a Rs. 306 formal shirt on AJIO worth buying?

As a price test rather than a wardrobe decision. Six shirts in this read sold under Rs. 400, from Buda Jeans Co, 7 Threads, NETPLAY and NEONOMAD, and AJIO publishes no rating or review count on any of them - so there is no crowd to tell you how the collar holds up after ten washes or whether the sizing runs true. What we can say is that the price is real and the risk is bounded: at Rs. 306 a shirt that disappoints has cost less than lunch. If you need a shirt to last three years of office wear, the brand-house shirts starting at Rs. 707 are the more sensible spend.

Which brand gives the best value on AJIO formalwear?

On these numbers, the retailer's own label. NETPLAY's Rs. 638 mid-rise slim trouser carries the smallest badge in the entire 117-row read - 29 per cent, against a modest stated Rs. 899 - and it undercuts every brand-house trouser on the shelf, including Peter England at Rs. 911 and Arrow at Rs. 840. Its Rs. 304 shirt is the cheapest listing we found anywhere in the read. A retailer discounting its own label has no supplier to negotiate with, which tends to produce more believable list prices and, here, the best rupee prices as well.

Does AJIO show customer ratings on formalwear?

Not on a single one of the 117 listings we read on August 9, 2026 - not on the Rs. 304 shirt and not on the Rs. 27,656 blazer. That is a structural feature of AJIO's product data rather than a gap in our pull, and it makes this shelf materially harder to buy from than a marketplace that publishes counts. In practice it means three things: the stated fabric composition is your only specification, the brand's name is your only reliability signal, and the price is the only number on the page that is definitely true. We have attached no rating pill anywhere on this article for that reason.

What should a men's formal shirt and trouser cost on AJIO right now?

Between Rs. 610 and Rs. 1,000 for the pair at the unbranded end, and between Rs. 1,400 and Rs. 2,500 from a brand house. In our read the cheapest shirt was Rs. 304 and the cheapest trouser Rs. 399, so a complete unbranded outfit came to about Rs. 700. Brand-house shirts started at Rs. 707 from Peter England and Rs. 779 from Allen Solly, with trousers from Rs. 840 at Arrow and Rs. 911 at Peter England. Above that, Louis Philippe's shirt and trouser together cost Rs. 2,499 - which is Rs. 814 more than a complete John Players two-piece suit on the same shelf, at Rs. 1,685.

More AJIO coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price, stated MRP and discount percentage here was read on August 9, 2026 from ajio.com's own product API across three queries - men formal shirts, men formal trousers and men suits blazers - with duplicate product codes removed, and all of them can change without notice. That yielded 117 rows, of which we seated 24. The derived figures we quote - the per-brand badge bands for Buda Jeans Co, NETPLAY, NEONOMAD, John Players, Arrow, Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Peter England, U.S. Polo Assn. and Charles Tyrwhitt, the counts of listings per brand, the observation that Peter England's and John Players' bands do not overlap at the top, the price and MRP extremes of the read, and the rupee value of every discount - are ours, calculated from those rows. Because our queries fixed the three categories, these findings describe the 117 listings we read rather than AJIO's entire menswear catalogue. A stated MRP is the brand's or seller's own figure and we have not verified that any garment here was ever sold at it; where one seller's own catalogue carries wildly different claims across near-identical products, we say so on the card. AJIO publishes no ratings or review counts on any listing in this read, so no rating pill appears anywhere on this page and no claim about customer satisfaction is made or implied. We have not worn, washed, measured, fitted or dry-cleaned any garment here. Fit names such as slim, tailored, regular and relaxed, collar styles, fabric descriptions, patch-pocket and flat-front details and blazer constructions are quoted from the listings as the seller's own wording, reported and not endorsed. Statements of category convention - that Indian suiting below roughly Rs. 5,000 is fused rather than canvassed, that a waistcoat set is wedding-season clothing, or that a retailer discounting its own label has no supplier to negotiate with - reflect general category understanding rather than any testing we performed. Sizing across these brands is not consistent and we have made no assessment of how any of them fit. Product images are AJIO's own listing images, rehosted. Return windows, exchange terms and coupon minimum-cart thresholds should be confirmed on AJIO before you order.
