AJIO Cargo Pants Under Rs. 1,000 for Men and Women: Size Guide, Oct 2026
AJIO's size guide gives the rules. We checked them against real listings and found two brands where a size 32 means different waists.
AJIO's style blog published a cargo pants size guide on September 20 with sensible rules: measure your waist where you actually wear trousers, check the inseam, size down in relaxed cuts and up in slim ones, and when your waist and hip disagree, follow the larger. What it does not do is show you a real chart. So on October 7, 2026 we searched AJIO for men's and women's cargo pants, kept the ones under Rs. 1,000 that buyers had rated, and read the size charts on the product pages where AJIO let us. Two charts that both say "32" turned out to mean different waists.

How to read an AJIO size chart in 30 seconds
First, check the line above the table: AJIO charts say either Body Measurement, your waist, or Garment Measurement, the trouser laid flat. Highlander's cargo chart is body, so size 32 fits a 32-inch waist. The Indian Garage Co's is garment, so its 32 measures 33 inches, an inch of ease built in. Second, look at the inseam: both charts list one inseam for every size, 32 inches at Highlander and 32.5 at The Indian Garage Co, so if you are under about 5'7" you will be cuffing or hemming. Third, letter sizes have a waist behind them. MAX men's joggers run S 31 inches, M 33, L 35, and Teamspirit women's track pants run S 27, M 29, L 31. Every pick has at least 41 AJIO ratings and an average of 3.6 or better. AJIO's ratings run lower than Myntra's for the same kind of product, so a 4.0 here is a strong score. The median pick has 182 ratings, and three have more than 400.
Under Rs. 1,000
All 17 cost under Rs. 1,000 on October 7, from Rs. 285 to Rs. 974. We left out cargos with rating counts in single digits however cheap they were, and dropped two well-rated pairs, DNMX and John Players, whose sizes were almost all sold out.
One cut per job
AJIO's guide is right that the cut decides the size, so we chose by cut: slim, relaxed, ripstop, jogger and oversized for men; relaxed, wide-leg, parachute, pleated, jogger and track for women. Each card names the fit in its spec strip.
The real size chart, where we could get it
For six picks we read the product-page chart: body or garment measurement, waist per size, inseam, and sizes in stock. For the other eleven, AJIO blocked our product-page requests on October 7, so the price and rating come from AJIO's search results and the card tells you to open the chart yourself. We did not guess at measurements.

How do I choose the right cargo pants size?
Measure your waist where you wear trousers and your inseam from crotch to ankle. Then check whether the brand's chart is a body or a garment measurement. On AJIO, Highlander's size 32 fits a 32-inch body waist, while The Indian Garage Co's size 32 measures 33 inches as a garment. Size down in relaxed or oversized cuts, size up in slim ones, and on joggers match your hip.
Should cargo pants be loose or fitted?
It depends on the cut. Classic cargos are relaxed through the thigh so the side pockets lie flat, as in the Highlander relaxed pair at Rs. 588. Slim cargos, such as The Indian Garage Co pair at Rs. 522, sit closer but still have more room than a slim chino. Oversized and parachute styles are meant to be baggy, so do not size up for them.
What if my waist and hip are different sizes?
Follow the larger measurement, as AJIO's own guide advises, and take in the waist with a belt or drawstring. That is easiest on joggers and drawstring cargos, such as the Teamspirit track pants or the Hivora and Lee Cooper pairs on this list.
What are the best cargo pants under Rs. 1,000 on AJIO?

Do AJIO cargo pants come in different lengths?
Usually not. The two charts we read listed one inseam for every waist size: 32 inches for Highlander and 32.5 inches for The Indian Garage Co. If you are shorter, pick a jogger or a cuffed hem, which hides extra length, or plan on hemming a straight-leg pair.
