From Rs. 1.77 to Rs. 115.65 a millilitre on one website. A 30%-off bottle here costs more per millilitre than four bottles discounted at 10%, because it holds 20 ml less.
We read 80 unique Tata CLiQ fragrance and body-care listings across eight category searches on July 27, and this is a category where the listed price is close to meaningless on its own. Fragrance is sold in bottles ranging from 20 ml to 200 ml, at three different concentration grades that determine how long a spray actually lasts, with discount badges calculated against each product's own MRP — so nothing on a listing page lets you compare one bottle with the one beside it. The fix is a single division nobody performs, so we performed it on all 80: the price per millilitre. Across this pull it runs from Rs. 0.74 to Rs. 115.65, and within fragrance alone from Rs. 1.77 to Rs. 115.65, a sixty-five-fold spread inside one category on one website. The badge explains none of that spread and frequently points the wrong way. The clearest case on this page is a Chopard eau de parfum carrying a 30% discount — three times the badge on the four picks above it — which still costs Rs. 107.63 per millilitre, because its bottle holds 80 ml rather than 100 ml. Meanwhile a Rabanne at just 15% off is the best designer value in the article at Rs. 53.13 per millilitre, purely because it comes in a 200 ml bottle. The evidence sits at the cheap end too: the two largest rating samples in the whole pull, 259 and 129, belong to fragrances at Rs. 29.40 and Rs. 10.99 per millilitre, while 53 of the 80 products we read carry no rating at all. We have stated the concentration grade on every fragrance, because a dearer millilitre of parfum can genuinely outlast a cheaper millilitre of eau de toilette. Our Tata CLiQ bank offers page covers the reductions that apply on top.

Five designer fragrances from Rs. 88.20 to Rs. 115.65 per millilitre — including one carrying a 30% badge that is still dearer per millilitre than four picks with 10% badges, because its bottle is smaller.
Rs. 11,565 for 100 ml — Rs. 115.65 a millilitre, the dearest on this page by some distance.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 115.65 per millilitre is the highest rate anywhere in this pull.

Rs. 2,940 for 100 ml at 40% off — Rs. 29.40 a millilitre, rated 4.0 by 259 people.
Why it earned its spot Two hundred and fifty-nine ratings is by far the largest sample in this article.

Why it earned its spot Rs. 1.77 per millilitre, the lowest rate for anything scented in this article.
Five picks from Rs. 0.74 to Rs. 7.48 a millilitre. The identical Vaseline lotion costs Rs. 1.24 per ml in the small bottle and Rs. 0.74 in the large — a 68% penalty for buying less.
Rs. 124 for 100 ml — Rs. 1.24 a millilitre, with 17 ratings at 4.5.

Why it earned its spot Rs. 7.48 per millilitre, at exactly the MRP, on eleven ratings.
Fragrance is one of the few categories where the structural levers beat the badge outright. First, bottle size: the single largest saving on this page is choosing a 200 ml bottle over a 100 ml one, which halves the rate and dwarfs any percentage on the listing — the same holds in body care, where a 400 ml Vaseline is 40% cheaper per millilitre than the 100 ml. Second, bank offers, which are calculated on the selling price at checkout and therefore work identically on a 0% Forest Essentials and a 45% Ajmal; our bank offers page, HDFC list and ICICI list track what is live. Third, the Tata CLiQ Luxury storefront carries much of the same designer fragrance under different codes, so anything above Rs. 5,000 is worth a cross-check between the two before paying.

It is the only number that lets you compare a 75 ml parfum with a 200 ml eau de toilette, and no listing page computes it. Across this pull the rate runs from Rs. 0.74 to Rs. 115.65 per millilitre — a 156-fold spread — and within fragrance alone from Rs. 1.77 to Rs. 115.65. Every pick on this page carries its per-millilitre rate in the spec strip so the comparison is always in front of you.
The clearest case is a Chopard at 30% off — three times the discount of the four picks above it — which still costs Rs. 107.63 per millilitre because it comes in an 80 ml bottle rather than 100 ml. A percentage compares a product to its own MRP and says nothing about the bottle beside it. The Rabanne at 15% off is the best designer value on this page, at half the rate of things discounted more deeply.
A parfum is typically 20% to 30% aromatic compound, an eau de parfum 15% to 20%, and an eau de toilette 5% to 15%. So a dearer millilitre of parfum can be better value per wearing than a cheaper millilitre of toilette, and the cheapest scented product here — a deodorant spray at Rs. 1.77 per ml — is a fraction of even that. We have stated the grade on every fragrance rather than leaving the rate to speak alone.
Heavy oriental and gourmand fragrances amplify in heat and turn oppressive by midday; aquatics and citrus stay legible. A shea body butter is a Delhi-December product being sold in monsoon, while a light body milk is the right July formulation. Fragrance-free lotions suit reactive skin. Only 27 of the 80 products we read carry any rating at all, so where a pick has a real sample we have led with it. Prices read from tatacliq.com on July 27, 2026.
Divide the price by the millilitres in the bottle, then check the concentration grade. Across the 80 Tata CLiQ listings we read on July 27, the rate ran from Rs. 1.77 to Rs. 115.65 per millilitre — a sixty-five-fold spread that no discount badge explains, because a percentage only compares a product to its own MRP. The clearest example on our page is a bottle at 30% off that still costs more per millilitre than four bottles at 10% off, purely because it holds 80 ml instead of 100 ml.
The proportion of aromatic compound, which determines how long it lasts. A parfum is typically 20% to 30%, an eau de parfum 15% to 20%, and an eau de toilette 5% to 15%. So a 75 ml parfum can outlast a 100 ml eau de toilette comfortably, and a dearer millilitre of the stronger grade may be better value per wearing. Terms like 'intense' and 'elixir' have no formal definition — they usually indicate a higher-concentration reformulation, but the brand decides what they mean.
On evidence, Jaguar Classic Black at Rs. 29.40 per millilitre, which carries 259 ratings at 4.0 — by far the largest sample in our pull and more than five times that of any designer fragrance here. On pure rate, Ajmal Silver Shade at Rs. 10.99 per millilitre with 129 ratings, though its 3.9 score is honest about what it is. Among designer bottles, the 200 ml Rabanne at Rs. 53.13 per millilitre beats every 100 ml bottle on the page regardless of badge.
Aquatics and citrus. Heat amplifies fragrance, so heavy oriental, gourmand and woody-resinous scents that read as rich in a Delhi December turn oppressive by midday in a Mumbai July. Fresh aquatic compositions such as Nautica Voyage stay legible through the day. It is also worth noting that Indian houses like Titan's Skinn range formulate specifically for these conditions, which European designers do not — and a 50 ml Skinn at Rs. 31.92 per millilitre is a cheap way to test that claim.
In this pull, consistently yes within a single product, and it is the largest single lever available. The 200 ml Rabanne works out to Rs. 53.13 per millilitre against Rs. 88 to Rs. 115 for the 100 ml designer bottles, and the 400 ml Vaseline Derma Care costs Rs. 0.74 per millilitre against Rs. 1.24 for the identical 100 ml lotion — a 68% penalty for buying less, despite the small bottle carrying a badge of its own. The one exception here is a 50 ml Skinn priced as a volume product rather than a luxury one.
