Two marketplaces, one category, one morning. We read 30 Amazon listings and 125 Flipkart listings for laptop stands and cooling pads on 18 October 2026 — logged out, from India, with nothing bought.

Amazon is cheaper here, and it advertises the bigger discount too. Its median is Rs. 629 against Flipkart's Rs. 735, and its median badge is 66% against 55% — because its median stated MRP is Rs. 1,999 against Rs. 1,499. It charges Rs. 106 less and claims Rs. 500 more.

Hold the brand still and the answer dissolves: of seven houses on both shelves, four are cheaper on Amazon and three on Flipkart, with gaps up to 4.9 times. The largest single difference is not price at all — 47 of Flipkart's 125 tiles publish no rating, against none of Amazon's 30.

📅 Update log:
18 October 2026 — First publication. Both shelves read the same morning: 30 distinct Amazon listings from amazon.in's search results for "laptop stand" and "laptop cooling pad", and 125 distinct Flipkart listings from flipkart.com's own search response for the same two terms — both logged out, from India, with nothing purchased and neither retailer contacted. Recorded this read: Amazon's price floor of Rs. 179, median of Rs. 629 and ceiling of Rs. 1,699 against Flipkart's Rs. 179, Rs. 735 and Rs. 2,198; median stated MRPs of Rs. 1,999 and Rs. 1,499; median badges of 66% and 55% against badge ranges of 40-87% and 0-89%; 17 distinct brands on Amazon against 47 on Flipkart; all 30 Amazon listings publishing a star average and rating count against 78 of Flipkart's 125, with deepest pools of 46,962 and 37,388; and the seven brands common to both shelves with their per-shelf listing counts, price ranges and median badges as reproduced in the brand table, four of them cheaper on Amazon and three on Flipkart. Nothing was bought, plugged in or tested.

Amazon against Flipkart on laptop stands and cooling pads

Two marketplaces, one category, one morning. We read 30 Amazon listings and 125 Flipkart listings for laptop stands and cooling pads on 18 October 2026 — logged out, from India, with nothing bought.

This shelf reverses the usual result. Amazon is cheaper at the midpoint — Rs. 629 against Rs. 735 — while stating a median MRP Rs. 500 higher and advertising a median badge eleven points deeper. It is charging less and claiming more at the same time.

It also reverses our own reading of the same two sites on another category. On water jugs and flasks, read the same morning, Flipkart was Rs. 175 cheaper at the median. There is no site that is simply cheaper.

The headline comparison, 18 October 2026: median stand or pad Rs. 629 on Amazon vs Rs. 735 on Flipkart · median stated MRP Rs. 1,999 vs Rs. 1,499 · median badge 66% vs 55% · listings publishing a rating: 30 of 30 vs 78 of 125.

The sample sizes are very different and we are not pretending otherwise. Amazon returned 30 listings for these two queries and Flipkart 125. Every median, range and count here is quoted with its sample size attached, and nothing should be read as a measure of either full catalogue.

Two rows do the work. The median stated MRP is Rs. 1,999 on Amazon against Rs. 1,499 on Flipkart, and the median selling price runs the other way — Rs. 629 against Rs. 735. Amazon prints a Rs. 500 larger claim and charges Rs. 106 less for it. That is the whole explanation for its deeper badge, and it is a warning about reading badges across sites at all.

The last two rows are the ones to carry away. Every single Amazon listing published a star average and a rating count. Forty-seven of Flipkart's 125 did not. On a shelf where most brands are unrecognisable, that is a difference in kind rather than degree.

Seven brands on both shelves, and no consistent winner

Seven houses turned up in both reads. Four were cheaper on Amazon and three on Flipkart, which is about as close to a coin toss as a comparison gets.

The widest single gap is Geonix: one Amazon tile at Rs. 257 against four Flipkart tiles at a median of Rs. 1,263 — 4.9 times. Ant Esports is nearly as stark: its cheapest Flipkart tile (Rs. 599) is exactly its dearest Amazon tile. Lapcare lists fifteen tiles on Flipkart between Rs. 768 and Rs. 920 and one on Amazon at Rs. 529.

And then it goes the other way. Zebronics, the house with the most balanced presence (eight tiles against nine), has a median of Rs. 950 on Amazon and Rs. 549 on Flipkart. Dyazo is Rs. 664 against Rs. 269. EvoFox is Rs. 949 against Rs. 679.

A necessary caveat, printed rather than buried: four of these seven comparisons rest on a single Amazon listing (Geonix, Lapcare, Striff) or two (Dyazo). A one-tile comparison is weak evidence — it may be one unusual variant rather than a brand-wide price difference — and the listing counts are in the table so you can weight them yourself. The Zebronics row, with eight tiles against nine, is the only genuinely well-sampled comparison here, and it favours Flipkart.

How to actually use the two sites

Decide whether you want a stand or a cooling pad first. Both shelves mix an unpowered folding aluminium riser with a powered dual-fan pad at overlapping prices. They are different products and no printed percentage distinguishes them.

Never compare badges across the two sites. The median stated MRP differs by Rs. 500 between them for the same category on the same morning, so a 66% badge on one and a 55% on the other are not measuring the same thing.

Check the brand on both sites before buying. Four of seven shared houses were cheaper on Amazon and three on Flipkart, with gaps up to 4.9 times. The shelf-level median will not tell you which way your brand falls.

If the brand is unfamiliar, prefer the listing that publishes a rating count. Every Amazon tile here did; 47 of Flipkart's 125 did not. And treat both reads as one morning — both sites rank and personalise results and restock continuously, and every figure here describes only the listings read on 18 October 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Amazon or Flipkart cheaper for laptop stands and cooling pads?
Amazon, at the midpoint of this read — which is the opposite of what the same two sites did on other categories. Reading 30 Amazon listings and 125 Flipkart listings on 18 October 2026, the median was Rs. 629 on Amazon against Rs. 735 on Flipkart. The floors are identical at Rs. 179. But hold the brand still and there is no winner: of the seven houses on both shelves, four were cheaper on Amazon and three on Flipkart. Geonix was Rs. 257 on Amazon against a Flipkart median of Rs. 1,263; Zebronics ran the other way, Rs. 950 against Rs. 549.
Why does Amazon advertise bigger discounts and still cost less here?
Because it is making a bigger claim as well as charging less. Amazon's median stated MRP on this shelf is Rs. 1,999 against Flipkart's Rs. 1,499 — Rs. 500 higher — so a deeper badge (66% against 55%) follows arithmetically even though its median selling price is Rs. 106 lower. This is the one combination that should make you most suspicious of badges in general: here the deeper badge happens to sit on the cheaper shelf, but it got there through the claimed figure, not the money. We do not assert that either site's stated MRPs are false; we report that they differ by Rs. 500 at the median for the same category on the same morning.
Does Flipkart show ratings on laptop stand listings?
Often not, and this is the largest gap on the page. All 30 Amazon listings in this read published a star average and a rating count. Only 78 of Flipkart's 125 did — meaning 47 tiles, 38% of its shelf, carry no buyer evidence at all. That bites hardest exactly where Flipkart's advantage is supposed to be: its long tail of 47 distinct brands, most of them unrecognisable. Amazon's deepest pool was 46,962 ratings against Flipkart's 37,388. The absence is Flipkart's own publishing choice as its response returned it on this date, not an omission of ours.
Which site has more laptop stand choice?
Flipkart, on raw count: 125 listings across 47 distinct brands against Amazon's 30 across 17. Two qualifications, both material. The samples are very different in size and were read through different mechanisms, and every figure on this page is quoted with its sample size attached. And more listings is not more choice when 47 of them publish nothing about what buyers thought and fifteen come from a single house in a Rs. 152 price band. Amazon returned a quarter as many tiles and published a rating on every one.
How much should a laptop cooling pad cost?
In this read the two shelves overlapped almost exactly at the bottom and diverged above it: both floors were Rs. 179, Amazon's median was Rs. 629 and Flipkart's Rs. 735, and the ceilings were Rs. 1,699 and Rs. 2,198. Note that 'laptop stand' and 'cooling pad' are two different products sharing one shelf — a folding aluminium riser with no fans and a powered dual-fan pad sit side by side at overlapping prices, and no badge reflects that. Read which one the tile is before comparing prices. This page makes no claim about cooling performance, airflow, noise or whether any stand fits any laptop; nobody here plugged anything in.

Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count here was read on 18 October 2026 from each retailer's own response — amazon.in's search results for "laptop stand" and "laptop cooling pad" (30 distinct listings) and flipkart.com's search response for the same two terms (125 distinct listings) — both logged out, from India, with nothing purchased and neither retailer contacted. Both sets are one morning of ranked, personalised output and are not either retailer's full catalogue; a different reader, device or hour will return a different set, and every median, range, count and comparison here describes only the listings read. The two samples are of very different sizes (30 against 125), which is stated beside every figure rather than hidden. Four of the seven brand comparisons rest on a single Amazon listing or two, and should be read as weak evidence of a brand-wide price difference; the per-shelf listing counts are printed in the table so readers can weight them. Stated MRPs are the sellers' own figures, reproduced exactly as printed. This page does NOT assert that any stated MRP is false, inflated or fabricated, or that any item has or has not sold at its stated MRP - we have no evidence either way, and the Rs. 500 difference in median stated MRP between the two shelves is reported as a fact about the listings read, not as a judgement about either retailer. The absence of star averages and rating counts on 47 Flipkart listings is Flipkart's own publishing choice as its response returned it on this date, is not an omission of ours, and is not presented as a fault; a retailer may publish buyer feedback elsewhere in its product pages or app. Large rating counts on either marketplace are commonly pooled across variants. THIS PAGE IS A PRICE READ: it makes no claim about cooling performance, airflow, fan noise, build quality, load capacity, material grade, whether any stand fits any laptop, or how long anything lasts, and it does not say that either retailer is better, more reliable or safer to buy from. '6-Angle Adjustable', 'Powerful', 'Dual Fan', 'Portable' and 'Aluminium' are the listings' own printed words, reproduced as printed and unverified. We did not buy, plug in or test anything. Prices change without notice and can differ at checkout after coupons, bank offers or delivery charges; the price shown at your checkout prevails over anything here.
