T-shirts average 70.3% off on AJIO and fragrance 43.9%. The difference is whether anyone can check the price — and on most of this shelf, nobody can.
We read AJIO's own search API on July 28, 2026 across three categories — men's t-shirts, jeans and fragrance — and collected 127 in-stock listings, every one of them discounted. Sorted by category, the badges split in a way that is difficult to unsee once you have seen it. T-shirts averaged 70.3% off across 43 listings. Jeans averaged 68.7% across 40. Fragrance averaged 43.9% across 44. That is a twenty-six-point gap between two aisles of the same shop on the same day, and the explanation we would offer — as an inference from the pattern rather than a stated fact — is about whether a price can be checked. A bottle of Wild Stone Code Acqua or Lattafa Khamrah is an identical, branded, sealed product sold by dozens of sellers, so a customer can verify what it should cost in thirty seconds and an inflated reference price would be caught immediately. A t-shirt from Crazybee X AG or Buda Jeans Co or AOOSH — labels that appear on marketplace listing pages and effectively nowhere else — is comparable to nothing at all, and its stated MRP of Rs. 999 or Rs. 1,399 is untestable by construction. The badges follow exactly that logic all the way down this page: 82% on a tee from a label with no shop, 68% on a Puma, 57% on a Levi's, and 13% on a Max t-shirt, from a value retailer whose in-store prices are already low and who therefore has no room in the reference price for a badge at all. None of which means the cheap clothes are bad — a cotton tee at Rs. 198 may be perfectly good, and Rs. 100 for a wearable t-shirt is a genuinely remarkable price. It means the percentage is decoration and the price is the fact. Our AJIO accessories piece runs the same test on a different aisle.
Every price below was pulled from AJIO on July 28, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our AJIO coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Six picks from Rs. 100 to Rs. 200 at 75% to 80% off. T-shirts averaged 70.3% off across our reading, and most of the deepest badges belong to labels that exist only on marketplace listing pages.
Rs. 100 for a cotton t-shirt — one hundred rupees, at 75% off.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 100. That is the entire price, and it is not a typo.
Rs. 150 for a striped active-lifestyle tee — another AJIO in-house label.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 150, and 'active lifestyle' here means a polyester blend.
Rs. 160 at 80% off — the cheapest recognisable brand in our picks.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 160 for a Lee Cooper cotton tee is the anomaly in this chapter.
Rs. 175 for a striped regular-fit crew-neck — the middle of the Rs. 100-200 shelf.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 175, and a woven stripe rather than a printed one.
Rs. 198 at 80% off — from a brand whose name is essentially a placeholder.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 198, and the Rs. 999 MRP has never been tested by anybody.
Rs. 200 for an open-knit striped polo — the lowest polo price in our picks.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 200 for a polo, which is a more useful garment than a tee.
Three tees at 82%, 80% and 81% off, all from marketplace-native labels — including a Rs. 323 polo carrying a stated Rs. 1,699 reference price.
Rs. 252 at 82% off — the largest discount in our picks, from a label with no shop.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 252, and 82% is the deepest cut here.
Rs. 299 at 80% off — a second unfamiliar label, in the same fit and the same band.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 299, and the pattern is now impossible to miss.
Rs. 323 against a stated Rs. 1,699 — the largest reference price among our t-shirts.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 323, and the Rs. 1,699 above it is the biggest claim in the chapter.
Four picks from the category that averaged 68.7% off across forty listings, including one label that posts the same jean four times under three different names.
Rs. 270 for stretch denim jeans — the lowest jeans price in our picks, at 82% off.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 270 for a pair of jeans, which is remarkable at any quality level.
Rs. 325 for wide-fit distressed jeans — AJIO's own label again.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 325, from the house label that opened this page at Rs. 100.
Rs. 438 for high-rise relaxed jeans — one of four almost identical listings from the same label.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 438, and this label posts the same jean under four names.
Rs. 440 for low-rise relaxed jeans — the same price band, a different label.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 440, and low-rise is a specification worth reading before buying.
Four picks from Rs. 349 to Rs. 948 at 68%, 62%, 57% and 13% off. The moment a name has its own stores and its own website, the badge falls — and at a value retailer it nearly disappears.
Rs. 480 at 68% off — the first genuinely global brand here, and the discount drops.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 480 for a Puma tee, at 68% rather than 80%.
Rs. 430 at 57% off — a Levi's tee, at the lowest apparel discount among our picks.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 430, and 57% is as far as a Levi's tee moves.
Rs. 948 at 62% off — the most expensive jeans in our picks, from a licensed name.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 948, and this is what recognisable-brand denim costs on this shelf.
Rs. 349 at 13% off — a Max tee, and the shallowest apparel discount we found.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 349, at 13% — the badge has effectively disappeared.
Four picks from Rs. 350 to Rs. 4,125. Fragrance averaged 43.9% off against 70.3% for t-shirts, because a bottle of perfume is identical everywhere and a marketplace t-shirt is comparable to nothing.
Rs. 350 for an eau de parfum — from the deepest-discounted end of the fragrance shelf.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 350, and fragrance averages 43.9% against apparel's 70%.
Rs. 650 at 50% off — a mainstream Indian eau de parfum, at half the apparel badge.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 650, at 50% — half off, and half of what a marketplace tee shows.
Rs. 374 at 25% off — the same brand as the pick above, at half the discount.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 374, and the badge is 25% against the same brand's 50%.
Rs. 4,125 at 25% off — an imported eau de parfum, and the highest price in our picks.
Why it earned its spot Rs. 4,125, and the badge is the same 25% as a Rs. 374 bottle.
Four rules follow from a shelf priced this way. First: in the Rs. 100 to Rs. 500 apparel band, ignore the percentage completely and judge the garment on its price and its fabric. Rs. 100 for a cotton tee is remarkable; the 75% beside it is not a fact about anything. Second: read the fabric and the fit rather than the label, because the labels down here carry no information — cotton against a polyester blend matters in July, the rise on a pair of jeans decides whether you will wear them, and a woven stripe outlasts a printed one. Third: when a badge suddenly looks modest, that is usually a sign the MRP is real. A Levi's tee at 57% and a Max tee at 13% are the two most honestly priced items on this page. Fourth: the levers that actually move the final number on a marketplace are the site-wide codes, the bank offers and the first-order concessions rather than the tiles, which are permanently deep. Our AJIO coupon page tracks those, and for the same categories elsewhere our Bewakoof price shelves and Libas MRP piece are worth reading before you commit.

Every price and MRP here comes from AJIO's own search response on July 28, 2026, across men's t-shirts, jeans and fragrance — 127 in-stock listings, every one of them carrying a discount. We took one listing per product rather than the several near-identical rows some labels post, and we picked across the full price range rather than only the deepest badges.
T-shirts averaged 70.3% off across 43 listings and jeans 68.7% across 40, while fragrance averaged 43.9% across 44. That is a gap of roughly twenty-six points between two aisles of the same shop on the same day, and it is the largest category gap we have found on any Indian marketplace this month.
Our inference, stated as inference: a bottle of Wild Stone or Lattafa is an identical, branded, comparable product sold in the same packaging by many sellers, so a customer can verify its price in thirty seconds and an inflated reference price would be caught. A t-shirt from a label that exists only on marketplace listing pages is comparable to nothing at all, so its stated MRP is untestable. The badges follow accordingly: Rs. 100 at 75% off from an in-house label, Rs. 349 at 13% off from a value retailer with real shops.
Several brands in the first three chapters — Crazybee X AG, Buda Jeans Co, AOOSH, Kashianxstyle, Kotty, Cosmic — appear on AJIO's listings and effectively nowhere else, and one of them posts four near-identical jeans under three names. None of that makes the clothes bad, and a cotton tee at Rs. 198 may be perfectly good; it makes the reference prices beside them meaningless. AJIO's search response carries ratings for very few listings and review counts for almost none, so this page has no rating pills and no scores of our own. Prices read July 28, 2026.
Because one of them can be price-checked and the other cannot. In our July 28, 2026 reading of AJIO's own search API, t-shirts averaged 70.3% off across 43 listings and fragrance 43.9% across 44. A bottle of perfume is an identical, sealed, branded product sold by many sellers, so an inflated reference price would be caught in thirty seconds. A t-shirt from a label that appears only on marketplace listing pages is comparable to nothing, so its stated MRP is untestable. That is our inference from the pattern rather than a statement by AJIO.
We have not tested them and will not pretend otherwise — what we can say is what the price and the listing tell you. Labels like Crazybee X AG, Buda Jeans Co and AOOSH appear on AJIO and effectively nowhere else, and several are AJIO's own in-house brands, which is normal retail practice. A cotton tee at Rs. 198 may well be perfectly good. Judge these on fabric and fit rather than on the badge: cotton over a polyester blend for July, and a woven stripe over a printed one if you can tell.
Rs. 100 in our picks, for a printed cotton relaxed-fit crew-neck from DNMX, which is one of AJIO's own labels. Above it, Rs. 150 buys a Performax active tee, Rs. 160 a Lee Cooper cotton tee at 80% off, and Rs. 175 a striped Teamspirit crew-neck. The cheapest polo in our picks is Rs. 200. All of those are in the price band where we would ignore the percentage entirely and judge the garment on its fabric.
The ones you can check. In our picks, a Max t-shirt sits at Rs. 349 with only 13% off — the smallest badge in the article — because Max is a value retailer whose in-store prices are already low, leaving no room in the reference price. A Levi's tee at Rs. 430 shows 57% against a Rs. 999 MRP that matches what the brand charges in its own stores. Puma at 68% and U.S. Polo Assn. at 62% sit between those and the marketplace labels at 75-82%.
At that price the downside is Rs. 270, so the question is really what you are giving up. Cheap stretch denim uses elastane for immediate comfort, and elastane degrades faster than cotton, so the jeans lose their shape sooner. Distressed finishes are made by abrading and treating the fabric, which means the pre-made rips are also where the denim will eventually fail. Read the rise before anything else — low-rise is the most common reason cheap jeans bought online end up unworn.
