On AJIO's beauty shelf the discount tracks the category and the brand, never the product. One serum label here runs a flat 5%, and it is the thing worth buying.
We read AJIO's own search API on July 29, 2026 across four beauty searches — beauty, makeup, skincare, fragrance — and collected 280 in-stock listings carrying a discount. Sorted by category rather than by badge, the shelf splits almost in half. Makeup runs at a median discount of 40% and skincare at 20%; fragrance sits at 39% and general beauty at 25%. That gap is not about which products are better value, and it is not generosity. A lipstick or foundation line has to be stocked in a dozen shades that will never sell at the same rate, so colour cosmetics are permanently being cleared — which is why thirty-six LAKME listings here run at a median 56.5% off, with a whole block of them at exactly 65%. A serum is a repeat purchase sold on a stated concentration, so it does not need a percentage at all: all seven Minimalist listings in our pull sit at 5% or 10% off, which on a Rs. 249 niacinamide serum is twelve rupees. The tools aisle is a third case entirely — Bronson Professional's ten accessory listings run at a median 80.5% off, against reference prices for beauty sponges and facial rollers that nobody on earth could check. And the rate belongs to the brand rather than to the item: all eight Ahmed Al Maghribi fragrances are at exactly 25%, six DEMI DIEUS perfumes share one identical Rs. 999 MRP, and L'Oreal's six listings run at a median 30% while LAKME's run at 56.5% — two brands under the same parent company, on the same shelf, on the same morning. The consequence for a shopper is simple and slightly annoying: one compact in these picks is cheaper at 25% off than a rival compact at 65% off. Read the price, then read the label — the SPF and PA ratings, the stated concentration, whether it says fragrance-free or merely unscented. Our AJIO accessories piece follows the same reference-price problem into another aisle, and our Nykaa skincare piece covers what the ratings on a rival shelf can support.
Every price below was pulled from AJIO on July 29, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our AJIO coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Why it earned its spot Rs. 599 for a liquid lipstick, closing on the widest gap of the article.
Four rules follow from a shelf where the badge tracks the category. First: expect deep discounts on colour cosmetics and do not wait for them on skincare. Makeup here runs at a median 40% and skincare at 20%, and the actives brands sit at 5% — waiting for a serum to halve is waiting for something that does not appear to happen. Second: on foundation and compacts, match the shade before you look at the price, because a badge cannot fix a shade that is wrong and a wrong shade is the most common wasted purchase in this aisle. Third: read the label lines that are actually specifications. SPF 50 covers UVB and PA++++ covers UVA, and most listings state only one; 10% niacinamide is a concentration; fragrance-free is a stronger claim than unscented; a synthetic brush suits liquids and natural hair suits powders. Fourth: on fragrance, find the millilitres — only forty of the 280 listings we read state a volume, and without it you cannot tell that Rs. 1,000 for 100 ml and Rs. 4,875 for 60 ml are Rs. 10 and Rs. 81 a millilitre. Our AJIO coupon page tracks the codes and bank offers that move the final number, and our marketplace-labels piece and Nykaa fragrance piece are worth a cross-check.

Every price and stated MRP here comes from AJIO's own search response on July 29, 2026 — 280 in-stock listings carrying a discount, pulled across four searches covering beauty, makeup, skincare and fragrance. Nothing is taken from a marketplace and nothing is computed from a badge alone.
The makeup pull has a median discount of 40% and the skincare pull 20%; fragrance sits at 39% and general beauty at 25%. The split is consistent enough to state plainly: colour cosmetics and tools are discounted hard on this shelf and skincare is not, because a lipstick line carries shades that will not sell evenly while a serum is a repeat purchase sold on a stated concentration.
All eight Ahmed Al Maghribi fragrances sit at exactly 25% off. All seven Minimalist listings sit at 5% or 10%. LAKME's thirty-six listings run at a median 56.5% with a large block at exactly 65%, while L'Oreal's six run at a median 30% — and the two brands share a parent company. Bronson Professional's accessories run at a median 80.5% against reference prices nobody can check. Six DEMI DIEUS perfumes share one identical Rs. 999 MRP.
SPF 50 and PA++++ are two different ratings covering two different kinds of ultraviolet, and most listings state only one. Ten percent niacinamide is a concentration. Fragrance-free is a stronger claim than unscented. A synthetic brush lasts years where a sponge lasts months. Only forty of the 280 beauty listings we read state a volume at all, which makes per-millilitre comparison impossible across most of the fragrance aisle. AJIO's search response carries no rating or review count, so this page has no rating pills. Prices read July 29, 2026.
Because of how the two categories sell. In our July 29, 2026 read of 280 discounted beauty listings, makeup ran at a median 40% off and skincare at 20%. A lipstick or foundation line has to be stocked in many shades and those shades never sell at the same rate, so colour cosmetics are constantly being cleared. A serum is a repeat purchase sold on a stated concentration — the seven Minimalist listings in our pull were all at 5% or 10% off, which on a Rs. 249 serum is twelve rupees.
The prices are low in absolute terms; the reference prices are the part to ignore. Bronson Professional's ten listings ran at a median 80.5% off, including a beauty sponge at Rs. 60 against a stated Rs. 400. Nobody can say what a moulded foam sponge ought to cost, which is exactly why the MRP can be almost anything. Rs. 60 for a sponge is cheap and Rs. 140 for a synthetic foundation brush is good value — judge those numbers on their own, not against the badge.
The actives-led skincare labels. All seven Minimalist listings we read were at 5% or 10%, and The Face Shop's six ran from 5% to 22%. On fragrance, all eight Ahmed Al Maghribi listings sat at exactly 25%. On the other side, LAKME's thirty-six listings ran at a median 56.5% and Bronson's accessories at 80.5%. If you are waiting for a deep cut on a serum from a concentration-led brand, our reading of this shelf is that it is not coming.
Find the millilitres, which is harder than it sounds — only forty of the 280 listings we read stated a volume anywhere. Where it is stated the comparison is stark: a 100 ml eau de parfum at Rs. 1,000 is Rs. 10 a millilitre, while a 60 ml oud at Rs. 4,875 is Rs. 81. That gap is largely real, because oud is genuinely one of the most expensive materials in perfumery, but no listing will tell you whether a bottle contains real oud or an accord built to smell like it.
On the evidence of this shelf, the least discounted thing on it. A SPF 50 PA++++ sunscreen at Rs. 379 with a 5% badge does more for skin than anything in the two chapters of 65%-off colour cosmetics above it. Check that both ratings are printed — SPF covers UVB and PA covers UVA, and many listings state only the SPF — and remember that most people apply roughly a quarter of the amount the SPF number assumes.
