Rs. 23,599Rs. 32,50027% off

“Two purifiers here cost Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 23,599. The cheap one removes dissolved solids and the expensive one does not. The price is not telling you what the machine does.” Zoutons Editorial Team

Five rules for buying kitchen appliances off a discount page

First: price each aisle in its own unit. A mixer is sold by the watt, a microwave by the litre and a purifier by its filtration - and on this shelf those rates vary by four times, three times and not at all in the direction the prices suggest. Second: for a purifier, start with your water rather than your budget. Reverse osmosis is for hard and borewell supply and starts at Rs. 7,999 here; ultrafiltration is for municipal low-TDS water and the most expensive machine on this shelf, at Rs. 23,599, is one of those. Third: ask what the recurring cost is, because purifier membranes and filters are an annual bill that appears on no listing, and it can exceed the price gap between two machines within three years. Fourth: for microwaves, decide function before capacity - solo reheats at Rs. 249 a litre, a grill adds browning for about Rs. 900 more, and convection bakes at Rs. 588 a litre, which is money wasted if you will not bake. We ran the same arithmetic across a soundbar wall where the wattage was printed on every listing. Fifth: below Rs. 2,000 in the mixer aisle, the Rs. 300 that buys an established brand is the best-spent money on this shelf, because these machines fail at the motor and a repair needs parts that only exist for brands with service networks. The same logic applied to a large-appliance floor at a rival chain.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: 15 of the 36 listings. In the mixer aisle we left out the Pigeon Zest at Rs. 2,569, the Prestige Regal at Rs. 4,029, the Philips PowerPro at Rs. 4,688 and the second Bosch at Rs. 8,459, all of which sit between seated picks on both price and watts and would have repeated the same arithmetic. In microwaves we dropped the second Morphy Richards solo at Rs. 6,490, the LG convection at Rs. 15,890, the IFB 20-litre at Rs. 7,090 and the IFB 30-litre convection at Rs. 17,990 for the same reason - the ladder from solo to grill to convection is already priced by the seven seated. In purifiers we left out the Aquaguard Enrich Neo pair at Rs. 15,799 and Rs. 11,899, the Eureka Aquaguard Eden at Rs. 12,888, the Kent Elegant at Rs. 15,399 and the Kent Sapphire at Rs. 20,899, which cluster tightly around machines already on the page. Nothing was excluded for being a bad appliance, and nothing was excluded on a rating, because this retailer publishes none.

What we look for

We converted every price into the unit each aisle is actually sold by

A mixer grinder is sold by the watt, a microwave by the litre and a purifier by its filtration technology, so we priced them that way rather than by percentage. The results are legible where the badges are not: power on this shelf runs from Rs. 2.40 to Rs. 11.25 a watt, capacity from Rs. 249 to Rs. 696 a litre, and the cheapest reverse-osmosis machine costs Rs. 15,600 less than the most expensive purifier, which does not do reverse osmosis at all. Where the unit stops being comparable - as with the brushless-motor mixer, where 550 watts does more work than 550 watts elsewhere - we say so on the card instead of quoting a meaningless rate.

We treat a stated MRP as a claim by the seller, not a fact about the appliance

The largest claim in this read is Rs. 37,000, on a water purifier selling at Rs. 14,188. The deepest badge is 71 per cent, on the cheapest mixer grinder on the shelf. The shallowest, 11 per cent, is on the most expensive appliance in the read. That inverse relationship holds across all three aisles: the badge measures how much persuasion a listing needs, not how much money changes hands. We report the claims as claims and rank on the price paid and the specification published.

No card here carries a rating pill, because there is no rating data at all

All 36 listings we read returned a price, a stated MRP and an image, and not one returned a rating or a rating count. That is a structural gap at this retailer in this category, and it removes the check we would normally apply. It matters especially here because the failure modes in these aisles - a burnt mixer motor, a microwave door catch, a purifier membrane - all show up after months of use, which is exactly what customer reviews capture and specifications do not. We have therefore ranked on published specification and price alone, and said so.

Nothing here was plugged in, run or tested, and every specification is the retailer's

We have not used any appliance on this page. Wattage, motor type, jar count and capacity, oven litres and power levels, grill and convection elements, filtration stages, storage capacity and TDS handling are quoted from Reliance Digital's own listings, reported and not endorsed - a stated seven-stage purification is a manufacturer's count, and different brands count stages differently. We have made no test of grinding performance, noise, heating evenness, water output rate or filter life. Recurring costs, particularly annual purifier filter and membrane replacement, are not stated on any listing and are the largest hidden number in that aisle. Installation requirements, warranty terms and service coverage in your city should be confirmed before you order.

FAQs

How much should I spend on a mixer grinder in India?

In our August 8, 2026 read of Reliance Digital's shelf, mixers ran from Rs. 1,199 to Rs. 8,999. The useful way to read that range is by watts. Three 500-watt machines sat at Rs. 1,199, Rs. 1,499 and Rs. 2,099 - Rs. 2.40, Rs. 3.00 and Rs. 4.20 a watt - and 750-watt machines ran from Rs. 2,679 to Rs. 4,999, or Rs. 3.57 to Rs. 6.67 a watt. Seven hundred and fifty watts is the practical threshold for Indian cooking, because dry grinding of spices and hard grains is what strains a motor. Above Rs. 7,899 you are paying for either a brushless motor, 1,100 watts, or food-processor attachments, all of which are real differences. The badge is not one: the deepest on the shelf, 71 per cent, is on the cheapest machine.

Is a 20-litre microwave enough for a family?

For reheating and defrosting, yes for most households - 20 litres takes a standard dinner plate and is what four of the microwaves in our read offer, at Rs. 4,988 to Rs. 7,990. The constraint is not people but function. A solo microwave only heats; it cannot brown or bake. If you want browning, the step to a 23-litre grill model was Rs. 8,890 in our read, about Rs. 900 above the dearest solo, and it is the best-value step on this shelf. If you want to bake, a 25-litre convection model was Rs. 14,690, which works out at Rs. 588 a litre against Rs. 249 for solo. Buy capacity for the number of people and function for the cooking you will actually do - and note that most households that buy convection use it as a reheater.

Do I need an RO water purifier?

It depends entirely on your water, not on your budget, and the shelf will not tell you. Reverse osmosis removes dissolved solids and is what borewell, hard-water and high-TDS supplies need; it starts at Rs. 7,999 on this shelf. Ultrafiltration and UV handle particulates and microbiology but leave dissolved salts alone, which is fine on low-TDS municipal supply - and the most expensive purifier in our read, at Rs. 23,599, is a UV plus UF machine rather than an RO one. So the dearest listing here does less to the water than one costing Rs. 15,600 less. Get your supply tested or ask neighbours on the same connection, then buy the technology that matches. Also budget for the recurring cost: membranes and filters need replacing annually and no listing states that price.

Why do the cheapest kitchen appliances show the biggest discounts?

Because the struck-through figure is set per listing and the cheapest products need the most persuasion. In our read, the deepest badge on the whole shelf - 71 per cent - sat on the Rs. 1,199 mixer grinder, the cheapest appliance in the pull, and the shallowest, 11 per cent, sat on a Rs. 57,752 built-in microwave, the most expensive. The pattern held inside every aisle: four 20-litre solo microwaves with identical capacity carried badges of 63, 37, 29 and 29 per cent as their prices rose from Rs. 4,988 to Rs. 7,990. The single most useful habit on a shelf like this is to convert the percentage into rupees and then into the aisle's own unit - watts, litres or filtration type - at which point the badges stop mattering entirely.

Is it worth paying more for a branded mixer grinder?

At the bottom of the shelf, yes, and the amount is small. The cheapest mixer in our read was Rs. 1,199 from a brand with no meaningful service presence; the next 500-watt machine, from an established South Indian appliance maker, was Rs. 1,499. That Rs. 300 is the best-spent money on this page, because mixers fail at the motor and the jar couplers, and both are repairable only if spare parts exist. Higher up, the premium buys specific engineering rather than reassurance: a brushless motor at Rs. 7,899 runs cooler and quieter, 1,100 watts at Rs. 7,999 grinds without labouring, and Rs. 8,999 adds a five-jar food processor that replaces a second appliance. None of those listings publishes motor type, duty cycle or noise levels, which are the three specifications that would actually settle the question.

More Reliance Digital coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price, stated MRP and discount percentage here was read on August 8, 2026 from Reliance Digital's own product data on reliancedigital.in, using three queries - mixer grinder, microwave oven and water purifier - deduplicated by product, and all of them can change without notice. That yielded 36 rows; the derived figures we quote (rupees per watt across the mixer aisle, rupees per litre across the microwave aisle, and the price and badge ranges in each) are ours, calculated from those rows and from the wattage and capacity figures the listings themselves state, and from nothing else. Where a listing's stated wattage is not comparable with others - as with a brushless DC motor, which does more work per watt than a universal motor - we say so on the card rather than quoting a rate. A stated MRP is the seller's own figure; we have not verified that any appliance here ever sold at its stated MRP, and the largest claim in the read, Rs. 37,000 on a machine selling at Rs. 14,188, is reported as a claim. Reliance Digital published no rating or rating count on any of the 36 listings we read, so no card on this page carries a rating pill and no claim about customer satisfaction is made anywhere on it. We have not plugged in, run, filled or handled any appliance on this page. Wattage, motor type, jar count and capacity, oven capacity in litres, power levels, grill and convection elements, auto-cook menus, filtration stages and types, storage tank capacity and TDS handling are quoted from the retailer's listings as the manufacturer's or retailer's own wording, reported and not endorsed. We have made no test of grinding performance, motor durability, noise, heating evenness, purified water output rate or filter life, and recurring costs such as annual filter and RO membrane replacement are not stated on these listings. Statements of category convention, such as reverse osmosis removing dissolved solids where ultrafiltration does not, or convection microwaves being able to bake where solo models cannot, reflect general category understanding rather than testing. Product images are the retailer's own listing images, rehosted. Installation requirements, warranty terms, annual maintenance contracts and service coverage in your city should all be confirmed with Reliance Digital before you order.
