Three pack sizes of one dog food, one shared pool of 81,362 ratings, and three different rupees-per-kilo figures that do not line up the way anyone expects. The division takes five seconds.
We read Flipkart's own dog food and cat litter results on 5 November 2026 and divided every price by the pack size printed in the listing's own title. Pedigree's identical dry food comes out at Rs. 215.67 a kilo in the 3 kg bag, Rs. 236.18 in the 5.5 kg and Rs. 210.91 in the 11 kg. The middle pack is the worst rate of the three - and the 11 kg listing's own title says it is two of that middle bag.
Every price below was pulled from Flipkart on November 5, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Flipkart coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Flipkart runs card and coupon offers that change by day, card and basket, and this read was made logged out, so no bank discount is included in any price here. Divide the price by the pack size before anything else - on this shelf it reverses the answer three separate times. Read the pack size out of the title, not the photograph: the Pedigree 11 kg is labelled "(2x5.5 kg)" and the wet-food packs are labelled by pouch count and pouch weight. Check whether two tiles share a rating count, which here means one review pool across pack sizes. Ignore the badge - on this page the deepest and shallowest badges repeatedly sit on the wrong side of the unit price. And treat food changes for your animal as a vet's decision, not a price decision - nothing on this page assesses what is in any of these bags.

Each selling price, stated MRP, badge, star average and rating count was read from flipkart.com's own search results for "dog food" and "cat litter" on 5 November 2026, logged out, from India, with nothing bought. Every pack size quoted is printed in the listing's own title. Every rupees-per-kilo and rupees-per-litre figure is our own arithmetic - price divided by the stated pack size - and is not a number Flipkart publishes. The read returned 77 tiles; 22 are seated here.
Cat litter on this shelf is sold by both weight and volume, and the two are different units with different densities. Every comparison on this page is kilo against kilo or litre against litre, within one brand or one product family. We make no claim that a Rs. 51.00-a-litre litter is cheaper or dearer than a Rs. 43.80-a-kilo one, because that comparison cannot be made from what is published.
We have not fed, opened, weighed or tested anything on this page. The cheapest food per kilo is not the best food for any particular animal. Ingredient quality, protein and fat content, life-stage suitability, allergies, breed size and existing health conditions all decide what a dog or cat should eat, and none of that is visible in a price. Pet food and litter choices for an animal with any health condition belong to a veterinarian, not to a price comparison. Wet and dry food are also never compared by weight here, because wet food is largely water.
"100% Complete & Balanced Nutrition", "No.1 Dog Food Brand in the World", "Premium Bentonite", "3X Stronger Absorption" and "99.9%" are printed on the listings and the pack photographs and carry their own on-pack asterisks and footnotes that a search tile does not show. We reproduce the sellers' images because they are what the shelf shows, and we neither repeat nor endorse any claim printed on them.
Where this page notes that one litter is badged 51% and another 15%, those are figures the listings published. Setting a reference price above the selling price is an ordinary retail practice, and nothing here alleges wrongdoing by Flipkart, any seller or any brand named. No stated MRP on this page is asserted to be false. The narrow point is that badges on this shelf repeatedly move in the opposite direction to the unit price.
No, and the clearest counter-example is Pedigree's own ladder. Read on 5 November 2026 from Flipkart's own results, the identical Pedigree 100% Complete & Balanced Nutrition chicken and vegetable dry food works out at Rs. 215.67 a kilo in the 3 kg bag, Rs. 236.18 a kilo in the 5.5 kg bag and Rs. 210.91 a kilo in the 11 kg pack - so the middle size is the dearest per kilo and the smallest beats it. All three tiles share one pool of 81,362 ratings. The rates are our arithmetic on Flipkart's prices and the pack sizes printed in the listing titles. Purepet, by contrast, does step down cleanly - Rs. 196.00, Rs. 169.29, Rs. 128.57 and Rs. 127.11 a kilo as the bag grows from 1 kg to 9 kg. Which is exactly why the division is worth doing each time.
Yes, by Rs. 278 on this read. The 11 kg listing's own title describes it as "(2x5.5 kg)" - it is two of the 5.5 kg bag. On 5 November 2026 the 5.5 kg tile was Rs. 1,299, so two of them would be Rs. 2,598, while the twin pack was Rs. 2,320. That is Rs. 278 saved on the identical weight of the identical food, or Rs. 25.27 a kilo. Both tiles display 4.5 stars from exactly 81,362 ratings, so nothing in the ratings distinguishes them. Prices change constantly - check both live listings and divide before buying.
The pouch size matters more than the box size. On this read, Pedigree Gravy at 2.1 kg (30 x 70 g) is Rs. 607.14 a kilo and at 1.05 kg (15 x 70 g) is Rs. 600.00 a kilo — so the bigger box is actually Rs. 7.14 a kilo dearer. But the 1.56 kg pack of 12 x 130 g pouches is Rs. 473.72 a kilo, Rs. 133.42 below the 30-pouch box. The variable driving the rate is the size of each pouch, not the number of them. One caution: wet and dry food cannot be compared by weight, because wet food is largely water, so none of these rates should be set against the Rs. 86 to Rs. 236 a kilo of the dry foods on this page.
Across the litter tiles seated here, Rs. 39.12 to Rs. 93.40 a kilo, and separately Rs. 51.00 to Rs. 60.50 a litre for the brands that sell by volume. Jimmy's 25 kg sack is the cheapest unit rate on this page at Rs. 39.12 a kilo, with its 10 kg at Rs. 41.40 and its 5 kg at Rs. 43.80. But two other 5 kg tiles from the same brand are Rs. 93.40 and Rs. 86.00 a kilo - more than double its own cheapest 5 kg rate, on different product lines. Emily Pets runs backwards: its 5 L is Rs. 51.00 a litre and its 10 L is Rs. 60.50, both on one 15-rating pool, so two 5 L packs would be Rs. 95 cheaper than one 10 L. Kilos and litres are different units and we never compare one against the other.
Repeatedly not, on this shelf. The 5 kg litter badged 51% is Rs. 43.80 a kilo; a 5 kg litter from the same brand badged 15% is Rs. 93.40 a kilo - the deeper badge happens to be the better rate there, but the two badges are measured against completely different stated MRPs (Rs. 450 and Rs. 550) and so are not comparable with each other at all. Meanwhile Pedigree's dearest-per-kilo bag is badged 7% and its cheapest-per-kilo pack is badged 17%, while Purepet's cheapest tile is badged 2%. A badge measures the gap to a stated reference price, not the gap to what anything actually costs per kilo. Divide the price by the pack size instead - it takes five seconds and it is the only number that compares.
