Zoutons Picks — Croma Cooling, July 2026

Across 101 discounted cooling products, the badge tells you where a thing sits in its selling season. The BEE star rating tells you what it will cost to own.

Prices & codes last verified July 29, 2026

The short of it Croma cooling, read across 101 discounted products on July 29 — the badge is seasonal, the star rating is money. The upgrade: Rs. 800 for a five-star BLDC fan. The season: 60% off a cooler in July. The reversal: a 34% AC dearer than a 41% one. The missing number: no purifier states its CADR.

We read Croma's own search API on July 29, 2026 across six cooling searches — air conditioners, air coolers, ceiling fans, pedestal fans, tower fans and air purifiers — and collected 101 in-stock products carrying a discount. Grouped by category, the badges arrange themselves in a way that has nothing to do with value: air coolers run at a median 38% off, ceiling fans 35%, pedestal fans 34%, purifiers 30%, air conditioners 29% and tower fans 23.5%. The deepest badge in the whole read, 60%, sits on an evaporative air cooler — a product that barely works in monsoon humidity and is at the end of its selling year. The shallowest category is air conditioners, the one thing here nobody buys on impulse. So the percentage is telling you where a product sits in its season. What it is not telling you is what any of it will cost to own, and on this shelf that number is enormous and easy to find: the BEE star rating printed in the listing title. A five-star BLDC ceiling fan in our picks costs about eight hundred rupees more than a one-star induction fan and draws roughly half the power for the same air delivery — call it a hundred and twenty units of electricity a year at eight hours a day, which pays the eight hundred rupees back inside a year or two and then keeps saving across a fan's ten-year life. The cheap fan is the expensive one. On a two-ton air conditioner the same arithmetic runs to thousands of rupees a year. And there is a smaller problem worth flagging: these listings routinely omit the numbers you would need to compare two products at all. Exactly one fan in our picks states an air delivery figure in cubic metres per hour. Not one of the three air purifiers states a clean air delivery rate, which is the figure that decides whether the machine can clear your room. Croma shows a star rating on many listings and a rating count on none, so this page carries no rating pills either. Our home appliances piece covers what the evidence on that shelf supports, and our discount clock piece looks at when these badges move.

Every price below was pulled from Croma on July 29, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Croma coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Where a real saving comes from on Croma

Four rules follow from a shelf where the badge tracks the season and the star rating tracks the money. First: on anything with a motor that runs for hours, buy the BEE star rating rather than the discount. A five-star BLDC ceiling fan at Rs. 2,499 beats a one-star fan at Rs. 1,699 within about two years and keeps beating it for the rest of a decade, and on an air conditioner the annual gap between a three-star and a five-star unit runs to thousands. Second: buy against the season deliberately. A 60% badge on an evaporative cooler in late July is a real discount on a product you will not use until next April — and one that does not work in coastal humidity at all, so check that before the price tempts you. Third: size the product before you price it. An undersized air conditioner runs flat out and costs more than a correctly sized one; a purifier without enough clean air delivery for your room simply does not clear it; a desert cooler needs a window open where an AC needs one shut. Fourth: treat the star ratings Croma shows on these listings as decoration, because none of them carries a rating count and a score with no sample size cannot be weighed. Our Croma coupon page tracks the bank offers and codes that move the final number, and our house-brand piece and kitchen appliances piece apply the same reading to other aisles.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: colour and near-identical model duplicates, which the search returns as separate listings at identical prices — three versions of one Crompton ceiling fan at Rs. 1,699 and two of one Atomberg pedestal fan at Rs. 3,499 among them. Listings at 0% off, which the search returns alongside the discounted ones and which are not part of this read. Out-of-stock rows. Exhaust fans and wall fans, which our six searches did not cover. And the long middle of the air-conditioner shelf between 25% and 35%, which runs to a dozen near-identical 1.5-ton three-star inverter splits whose real differences are in warranty terms and service networks rather than in anything a listing states.

What we look for

We read Croma's own search API across the cooling aisle

Every price and stated MRP here comes from api.croma.com's own search response on July 29, 2026 — 101 in-stock products carrying a discount, pulled across six searches covering air conditioners, air coolers, ceiling fans, pedestal fans, tower fans and air purifiers. Nothing is taken from a marketplace and nothing is computed from a badge alone.

Then we grouped by category, and the badges sorted themselves

Air coolers run at a median 38% off, ceiling fans 35%, pedestal fans 34%, air purifiers 30%, air conditioners 29% and tower fans 23.5%. The deepest discount in the whole read is 60% on an evaporative cooler at the end of its season; the shallowest category is the one nobody buys on impulse. The badge is describing where a product sits in its selling year, not what it is worth.

And we read the BEE star rating instead, because that is the real price

A five-star BLDC ceiling fan costs about eight hundred rupees more than a one-star induction fan on this shelf and typically draws around half the power for the same air delivery. Over eight hours a day that is roughly a hundred and twenty units of electricity a year, which recovers the difference inside a year or two and keeps saving for the rest of a ten-year life. On a two-ton air conditioner the same logic is worth several thousand rupees a year. Neither figure appears in any badge.

We also noted what these listings do not tell you

Only one fan listing in our picks states an air delivery figure in cubic metres per hour, which is the number that would let you rank two fans. None of the three purifiers states a clean air delivery rate, which is what determines whether a machine can clear your room. Croma displays a star rating on many of these listings and a rating count on none of them, so this page carries no rating pills — a score with no sample size cannot be weighed. Prices read July 29, 2026.

FAQs

Is a five-star BLDC ceiling fan worth the extra money?

On the prices we read, yes, and quickly. A five-star BLDC fan in our picks is Rs. 2,499 against Rs. 1,699 for a one-star induction fan — eight hundred rupees. Published figures put a BLDC ceiling fan at roughly 28 to 35 watts against 70 to 80 for a conventional one, so at eight hours a day the difference is in the region of a hundred and twenty units of electricity a year. At ordinary domestic tariffs that recovers the Rs. 800 inside a year or two, and a ceiling fan lasts a decade. Your own tariff and usage will vary.

Why are air coolers so heavily discounted on Croma in July?

Because their season is ending. Air coolers carried the deepest category median in our July 29, 2026 read at 38% off, including the single deepest badge of all 101 listings at 60%. An evaporative cooler works by evaporating water into the air, which means it cools well in dry heat and barely at all in monsoon humidity — and it needs a window or door open to push damp air out. If you live somewhere coastal, the discount is real and the product still will not suit you.

Which cooling category is least discounted at Croma?

Air conditioners, at a median 29% off in our read, and tower fans at 23.5%. Air coolers were deepest at 38%, then ceiling fans at 35%, pedestal fans at 34% and purifiers at 30%. Within the AC shelf the badge ranks nothing useful: one pick here at 34% off costs Rs. 2,500 more than another at 41% off and cools less, so compare the rupee price and the tonnage rather than the percentages.

What should I check before buying an air purifier?

Clean air delivery rate — usually written CADR, in cubic metres per hour — measured against the size of your room, because that is what determines whether the machine can actually clear the air. None of the three purifiers in our picks states it, which is the real problem with buying one from a listing page. Also budget for filter replacement, which is an annual running cost, and understand the stages: the HEPA layer handles particulate matter and activated carbon handles odours and some gases.

Can I trust the star ratings shown on Croma listings?

Not on their own. Croma displays a customer star rating on many of these cooling listings and a rating count on none of them, so there is no way to tell whether a 5.0 rests on two reviews or two hundred. Two identical listings of one pedestal fan in our pull showed 3.0 and 2.5 with no counts beside either. That is why this page carries no rating pills, and why we have used the BEE star rating — an official efficiency measure — as the number to read instead.

More Croma coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price and stated MRP here was read from api.croma.com's own search response on July 29, 2026 — 101 in-stock discounted cooling products across six searches — and can change without notice. The category medians we cite (38% for air coolers, 35% ceiling fans, 34% pedestal fans, 30% air purifiers, 29% air conditioners, 23.5% tower fans, and brand medians of 42.5% for Honeywell, 37% for Croma's own label and 31% for Symphony) are our own analysis of that sample on that date; a larger pull would shift the exact figures. The running-cost arithmetic is illustrative rather than a measurement: typical published figures put a five-star BLDC ceiling fan at roughly 28 to 35 watts and a conventional one-star induction fan at roughly 70 to 80 watts, and our payback estimate assumes eight hours of daily use at ordinary Indian domestic tariffs — your own consumption, tariff and usage will differ, and we have not metered any of these products. BEE star ratings quoted are those stated in the listing titles. Nothing here is a judgement on product quality, none of which we have tested. Croma displays a customer star rating on many of these listings and a rating count on none, so this page carries no rating pills. Comments on specification (BLDC against induction motors, honeycomb against wood-wool cooler pads, evaporative cooling requiring low humidity and open airflow, inverter compressors, HEPA and carbon filtration stages, CADR sizing, bladeless fans still using a hidden impeller) reflect general understanding of the categories rather than testing we have done.
