Amazon Grooming Deals August 2026: Hair Dryer, Trimmer, Toothbrush

Oral-B iO electric toothbrush head against teeth, from campaign photography
Zoutons Picks — Amazon Hair Dryers, Trimmers & Electric Toothbrushes, August 2026

Ninety Amazon listings read on August 6 - thirty hair dryers, thirty trimmers, thirty electric toothbrushes. Fifty-seven of the first sixty carry a discount badge. One of the last thirty does.

Prices & codes last verified August 6, 2026

Three grooming searches on the same afternoon, thirty organic listings kept from each so the aisles are directly comparable, and one number counted before any price was read: how many listings in each aisle actually show a discount. Hair dryers, twenty-seven of thirty, at a median badge of 31 per cent. Beard trimmers, thirty of thirty, at a median of 28. Electric toothbrushes, one of thirty. That is not a shallow-discount aisle or a badly-timed one - twenty-nine of the thirty listings show no struck-through price and no percentage at all, from a Rs. 399 sonic brush to an Oral-B iO9 at Rs. 11,549, which is the most expensive item in the entire pull and is offered at exactly its price. We can measure that precisely and we cannot see why it is so, because pricing decisions are made inside Amazon and the brands and are not published, so we have not guessed. What a shopper can act on is simpler: in two of these aisles it is worth waiting for a badge, and in the third there is nothing to wait for. Oral-B holds sixteen of those thirty toothbrush listings, the tightest brand concentration anywhere in our pull. We looked at how thinly the newest kitchen aisle is reviewed earlier today; this is the same shelf read on discounting instead.

Every price below was pulled from Amazon on August 6, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Chapter One

Hair Dryers: Twenty-Seven of Thirty Carry a Badge

A normal discount aisle. Twenty-seven of the thirty listings show a struck-through price, the median badge is 31 per cent, and the aisle holds 427,296 reviews between them - the deepest of the three. It also shows the pattern that recurs across every shelf we read: the most-reviewed listing here carries the shallowest badge, and the deepest badge sits on the thinnest sample.

The single badged toothbrush in the aisle is a Rs. 170 listing printing 83 per cent off - and the same seller's other listing, Rs. 29 dearer, prints nothing at all. That pair settles the question of what a badge is. The chapter also seats a Colgate kids' brush with 7,698 reviews and no discount, and the oscillating AGARO that costs Rs. 9,850 less than the Oral-B iO9 and has four times its reviews.

How to shop an aisle that never goes on sale

First: know which aisle you are in before you start waiting. In the hair dryer and trimmer aisles a badge is normal and a 30 per cent discount is simply the going rate, so paying full price there is usually a mistake of timing. In the electric toothbrush aisle there is no badge to wait for, so the listed price is the decision and delaying costs you nothing but delays. Second: in the undiscounted aisle, compare on mechanism and features rather than on price movement - oscillating versus sonic, whether there is a pressure sensor, whether the base is rechargeable or takes AA batteries. Those differences are printed and checkable, and they matter more than any percentage would. Third: price the consumable, not just the device. Replacement brush heads run to several hundred rupees a year and are the real cost of an electric toothbrush; a OneBlade needs blade cartridges; a cheap dryer needs replacing every few years. A Rs. 399 brush with expensive or hard-to-find heads is worse value than a Rs. 1,559 one with cheap ones. Fourth: read the review count before the badge in every aisle, because on this page the deepest discounts consistently sit on the thinnest samples - 61 per cent on 4,727 reviews, 69 per cent on 136, 83 per cent on 485. Card and bank offers that stack on these prices are on our Amazon coupons page.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: 68 of the 90 listings, plus every sponsored placement, which we discarded before computing a single figure - a sponsored slot is bought rather than earned and would corrupt any statement about what an aisle looks like. Among the organic rows, we passed the mid-table of both discounting aisles: roughly a dozen hair dryers between Rs. 700 and Rs. 2,300 sitting at 4.1 or 4.2 with badges close to the aisle median, and a similar block of Philips and VGR trimmers, all of which restate what the seated picks already show and all of which are counted in every median quoted here. In the toothbrush aisle we left out most of Oral-B's sixteen listings, seating six, because seating all sixteen would have made a page about an aisle into a page about one brand. We also excluded, and did not seat, the eight listings whose stated MRP sits below their own selling price - those are broken fields rather than deals, and we describe them in the criteria rather than pretending they are data. Nothing was excluded for scoring badly: the lowest rating in the pull, a 2.5, is seated in Chapter Four.

What we look for

Ninety listings, thirty from each of three searches

On August 6, 2026 we searched amazon.in for 'hair dryer', 'beard trimmer' and 'electric toothbrush', discarded every sponsored placement before computing anything, and kept the first thirty organic listings from each. Thirty from each aisle is deliberate: it makes 'how many listings in this aisle carry a discount badge' a directly comparable number across the three, rather than an artefact of one search returning more rows. Every price, stated MRP, discount percentage, star rating and review count quoted here is Amazon's own as it displayed that afternoon.

Badges were counted per aisle before any price was compared

The finding is a count, so the count came first. Hair dryers: 27 of 30 listings display a discount badge, median 31 per cent. Beard trimmers: 30 of 30, median 28 per cent. Electric toothbrushes: 1 of 30. That single badged listing sells at Rs. 170 and prints 83 per cent, so no meaningful median exists for that aisle and we have not invented one. The three aisles are otherwise comparable retail categories - small mains or battery-powered personal-care appliances, sold by a mix of multinational and Indian brands, at median prices of Rs. 1,249, Rs. 1,474 and Rs. 675. We can measure the difference in discounting behaviour precisely and we cannot see its cause, since pricing and promotion decisions are made inside Amazon and the brands and are not published. We have deliberately not speculated about it.

Eight broken MRP fields were identified and excluded

Eight of the thirty electric toothbrush listings display a stated MRP lower than their own selling price - a Rs. 535 brush stating Rs. 22, a Rs. 1,999 brush stating Rs. 399, a Rs. 492 brush stating Rs. 41. Those are not discounts and they are not negative discounts; they are broken fields, most plausibly a replacement-brush-head price appearing on a parent listing. We excluded all eight from every figure on this page and seated none of them, and we are stating that here rather than letting a reader wonder why the arithmetic does not tie. It is also why the 'no badge' count for that aisle is 29 rather than a larger number: Amazon itself declines to print a percentage on those listings, which is the correct behaviour.

Review counts were read beside every badge, never separately

Every seat on this page prints its review count next to its rating, because the relationship between the two decides how much either is worth. In the hair dryer aisle the deepest badge, 61 per cent, sits on 4,727 reviews while the shallowest, 9 per cent, sits on 112,551. In the trimmer aisle the deepest badge, 69 per cent, sits on 136 reviews while a 14 per cent badge sits on 38,952. That inverse relationship holds in both discounting aisles and is the single most useful thing on this page for a shopper scanning a results screen. One further caveat we flag in the seat rather than the footnotes: two Havells hair dryer listings at different prices report the identical 67,216 reviews, which is Amazon pooling reviews across variants. We have not used, run or tested any product here; every specification quoted is the seller's listing claim.

FAQs

Do electric toothbrushes ever go on sale on Amazon India?

On the day we read this shelf, essentially no - and that is a strong enough result to plan around, with one honest caveat. Twenty-nine of the thirty organic electric toothbrush listings we saw on August 6, 2026 showed no struck-through price and no discount percentage at all, across the entire range from a Rs. 399 sonic brush to an Oral-B iO9 at Rs. 11,549. In the two comparison aisles on the same afternoon, 57 of 60 listings carried a badge. The caveat is that this is a snapshot of one day: a shelf that shows no discounts in early August may well show them during a Great Indian Festival or Prime Day, and we have not tracked this category across months. What the snapshot does tell you is that everyday discounting is not how this aisle works, so if you need a toothbrush now, buying at the listed price is not a mistake in the way that buying a full-price hair dryer would be. The lever that does exist is bank and card offers, which apply regardless of whether a listing carries a badge.

Is an expensive electric toothbrush worth it over a cheap one?

The clinical consensus is that any powered brush used correctly beats a manual one, and that the gap between a good cheap powered brush and an expensive one is much smaller than the gap between manual and powered - so the honest answer for most people is that the cheap one is enough. This page prices the question unusually cleanly because nothing in the aisle is discounted: an AGARO oscillating rechargeable brush at Rs. 1,699 with 1,425 reviews, and an Oral-B iO9 at Rs. 11,549 with 313. Both oscillate, both are rechargeable, and the score difference is a tenth of a star. What the iO9 adds is a smoother magnetic drive, seven modes, and app-based coaching, and those are genuinely more refined rather than imaginary - but Rs. 9,850 is a large amount of refinement. The upgrade we would actually pay for is much cheaper: a pressure sensor, which stops you brushing hard enough to damage your gums, and which the Rs. 2,855 Oral-B Pro 3 and the Rs. 1,799 Perfora both include. Please treat this as a summary of general dental guidance rather than advice about your teeth, which your dentist knows and we do not.

Why do some Amazon listings show no MRP at all?

Because the struck-through price on Amazon is a seller-supplied field, not an automatic one. When a seller enters a list price above the selling price, Amazon computes and displays the percentage; when the seller enters nothing, or enters something Amazon's own checks reject, the listing simply shows the selling price with no badge. That is why an entire aisle can go badge-free while the aisle next to it is fully badged, and it is also why a badge tells you about a seller's reference figure rather than about the value of a deal. This page contains the cleanest demonstration of that we have found: one seller has two electric toothbrush listings, Rs. 170 and Rs. 199, and the cheaper one prints 83 per cent off while the dearer one prints nothing. Same seller, same category, Rs. 29 apart. We also found eight listings on this shelf whose stated MRP sits below their own selling price - most plausibly a replacement brush-head price attached to a parent listing - which Amazon correctly declines to render as a discount and which we excluded from every figure here.

Which hair dryer should I buy on Amazon right now?

Match the wattage to your hair before you look at price, because it is the one specification in this aisle that reliably predicts anything. For fine or short hair, a 1000W dryer is plenty and the Philips at Rs. 997 is the safest buy on the shelf - 112,551 reviews at 4.2 is the deepest evidence base in our entire pull. For thick or long hair, 2000W with an AC motor genuinely dries faster and runs quieter under load, and the AGARO at Rs. 1,499 is the value pick there. On a tight budget the Nova at Rs. 584 has 43,953 reviews and a 3.9, which is an honest score that tells you what to expect: it will be loud and it will not last a decade, and at Rs. 584 that is a fair trade. Two things to be careful of. The Havells styling dryer appears twice on this shelf at Rs. 1,685 and Rs. 1,999 sharing one review pool, so take the cheaper listing. And the deepest badge in the aisle, 61 per cent, is on a hot air brush - a different appliance that dries and shapes in one pass, and only worth Rs. 2,699 if that is what you actually want.

Does a bigger discount mean a better deal on Amazon?

Not on this shelf, and the relationship is close to inverted. In the hair dryer aisle the deepest badge is 61 per cent, on a listing with 4,727 reviews, while the shallowest is 9 per cent, on a listing with 112,551. In the trimmer aisle the deepest is 69 per cent on 136 reviews, and a 14 per cent badge sits on 38,952. In the toothbrush aisle the only badge at all, 83 per cent, sits on 485 reviews. The mechanism is not mysterious: a percentage is arithmetic performed on a number the seller supplies, so a seller who states a high reference price generates a deep badge without changing what they charge. Established products with large review counts tend to state credible reference prices and therefore print unimpressive badges. The reliable method is to ignore the percentage entirely, compare the selling price against other listings for a comparable product, and read the review count first. Two trimmers on this page both sell at exactly Rs. 699 and print 42 and 46 per cent - the difference is Rs. 96 of stated MRP, and nothing else.

More Amazon coverage on Zoutons

How Zoutons picks deals Zoutons may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page. Every price, stated MRP, discount percentage, star rating and review count here was read from amazon.in on August 6, 2026, across three searches - hair dryer, beard trimmer and electric toothbrush - and every aggregate figure is computed from the resulting 90 non-sponsored listings as they displayed that afternoon. Amazon's prices change constantly and nothing here is guaranteed to persist; a listing showing no discount on the day we read it may show one tomorrow. The central finding - that 27 of 30 hair dryers and 30 of 30 beard trimmers carried a discount badge while 1 of 30 electric toothbrushes did - is a description of those listings on that day and not a claim about Amazon's or any brand's pricing policy over time. We do not know why the aisles behave differently: promotional decisions are made by Amazon and by brands and are not published, and we have deliberately declined to speculate. Nothing here alleges misconduct by Amazon, Oral-B, Colgate, Philips or any seller. Eight electric toothbrush listings displayed a stated MRP below their own selling price; we read those as broken data fields rather than as negative discounts, excluded them from every figure, and seated none of them. Review counts do not measure units sold. Two Havells hair dryer listings at different prices displayed an identical review count, which is Amazon pooling reviews across product variants, and we have flagged it in the relevant seat. A stated MRP is a seller's reference figure and several on this page are optimistic. Every specification quoted - wattage, motor type, oscillating or sonic action, pressure sensors, blade materials, showerproofing, battery life - is the seller's listing claim, reported as a claim and not verified by us. We have not used any product on this page. Nothing here is dental or medical advice; the general remarks about brushing pressure and about electric brushes outperforming manual ones reflect widely reported dental guidance rather than any test conducted by us, and your dentist is a better source than this page.
