Nineteen Amazon gift boxes state their weight. None states a rate. The five cheapest by weight carry the shallowest discounts on the shelf.
We read 36 Diwali sweet box and gift hamper listings from Amazon's own search results on 27 October 2026 and divided each by the weight its own title states. Nineteen state one. They run Rs. 250 to Rs. 3,980 a kilo - a 15.9x spread, against a sticker-price range of Rs. 99 to Rs. 2,915. The five cheapest kilos on the shelf are all large assorted boxes, and all five are badged between 14% and 26%. The deepest badge in the read, 92% off a claimed Rs. 7,812, belongs to a hamper that states no weight at all - as do the other three deepest. Median rating count across the shelf: 67.
Every price below was pulled from Amazon on October 27, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Seven listings from the cheapest per-kilo end of the read. Five are large assorted boxes from one brand, every one of them badged between 14% and 26%, and all five are cheaper per kilo than anything else on the shelf.
Rs. 400 for 1600 g — Rs. 250 a kilo, badged 26%

Rs. 482 for 1900 g — Rs. 254 a kilo, badged 19%
Why it earned its spot it is the second-cheapest kilo in the read and it carries a badge seven points shallower than pick 01, which is the badge argument in miniature.
Rs. 525 for 1900 g — Rs. 276 a kilo, badged 21%
Why it earned its spot two boxes of the identical stated weight from one brand, Rs. 43 apart, make the per-kilo comparison concrete rather than theoretical.
Rs. 610 for 2170 g — Rs. 281 a kilo, badged 19%
Why it earned its spot it states the largest weight on the shelf and sits in the cheapest quarter per kilo while carrying one of the shallowest badges.
Rs. 534 for 1400 g — Rs. 381 a kilo, badged 14%

Rs. 157 for 400 g — Rs. 392 a kilo, badged 52%
Why it earned its spot it is the best-evidenced item on a shelf whose median rating count is 67, and it is still in the cheap half per kilo.
Rs. 309 for 500 g — Rs. 618 a kilo, badged 22%
Why it earned its spot it marks where the shelf stops being about assorted gift boxes and starts being about individual mithai sold in smaller packs.
The dear half, where the pack gets smaller and the rate climbs. Includes the same sweet from two makers at Rs. 911 and Rs. 1,070 a kilo, a four-tile cluster running Rs. 1,434 to Rs. 2,025, and the 50 g set that tops the read at Rs. 3,980.
Rs. 164 for 180 g — Rs. 911 a kilo, badged 30%
Why it earned its spot it is the second-most-rated listing in the read and the cheapest kaju katli per kilo among the small packs.
Rs. 397 for 400 g — Rs. 992 a kilo, badged 60%
Why it earned its spot it carries the deepest badge of any listing in the read that actually states a weight, and it is in the dear half per kilo.
Rs. 214 for 200 g — Rs. 1,070 a kilo, badged 14%
Why it earned its spot it is the same sweet as pick 08 from a different maker at a higher per-kilo price and a shallower badge, which is the cleanest like-for-like here.
Rs. 499 for 400 g — Rs. 1,248 a kilo, badged 38%
Why it earned its spot it is the cheapest of the dry-fruit gift packs by weight and marks where the shelf's per-kilo price passes four figures.
Rs. 1,147 for 800 g — Rs. 1,434 a kilo, badged 10%
Why it earned its spot it opens the dearest cluster in the read, where one brand's boxes run Rs. 1,434 to Rs. 2,025 a kilo at badges of 5% to 19%.
Rs. 1,378 for 800 g — Rs. 1,722 a kilo, badged 5%
Why it earned its spot it pairs the dear end of the per-kilo range with the thinnest evidence on the page, which is the combination most worth flagging on a gifting shelf.
Rs. 725 for 400 g — Rs. 1,812 a kilo, badged 19%
Why it earned its spot it is the third tile from the dearest cluster and shows the pattern holding as the pack gets smaller.
Rs. 405 for 200 g — Rs. 2,025 a kilo, badged 10%
Why it earned its spot it is the dearest kilo among the mithai boxes and the clearest case of a small pack at a large rate.
Rs. 1,186 for 500 g — Rs. 2,372 a kilo, badged 5%
Why it earned its spot it is the second-dearest kilo in the read and shares the shelf's shallowest badge, closing the inverse relationship at the top.
Rs. 199 for 50 g — Rs. 3,980 a kilo, badged 60%
Why it earned its spot it is the ceiling of the per-kilo range by a wide margin and it carries a 60% badge, which closes the argument at the extreme.
Hampers that count items instead of grams - and carry the deepest badges in the read, including 92% off a claimed Rs. 7,812. Three are seated to mark where the per-kilo method stops working.
Rs. 625 for 8 items — no weight stated, badged 92%
Why it earned its spot it carries the deepest badge and the largest MRP claim in the read, and like every deep badge here it belongs to a listing that states no weight at all.
Rs. 1,349 for 13 items — no weight stated, badged 41%
Why it earned its spot it is the dearest item-counted hamper in the read and shows the format is consistent: items are named, grams are not.
Rs. 998 for 11 items — no weight stated, badged 46%
Why it earned its spot it is seated to mark where the per-kilo method stops working, rather than letting the page imply the method covers the whole shelf.
First, look for grams before you look at the badge. Only 19 of the 36 listings here publish a weight, and those 19 range from Rs. 250 to Rs. 3,980 a kilo - a gap the tile never shows you. Second, treat a deep badge as a signal to check what is in the box. Every one of the four deepest discounts in this read is on an item-counted hamper with no stated weight, and the deepest claims an MRP 12.5 times its price. Third, read the rating count. The median across this shelf is 67 and one Rs. 1,378 box has seven - thin evidence for something you give away unopened. Fourth, check the shelf life and the delivery date together, because sweets are perishable and a festival gift that arrives late is not a bargain at any rate per kilo. Prices change without notice - check the live listing before buying.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count on this page came from the product data amazon.in itself serves, read on 27 October 2026, logged out, from India, with nothing bought. The queries were "diwali sweet box" and "diwali gift hamper", returning 36 unsponsored listings. Sponsored placements were dropped. Every median, range and count quoted is computed over all 36, not over the 20 seated here.
Every per-kilo figure here is the selling price divided by the weight the product's own title states - "1.6 Kg", "400grams", "200 GMS". 19 of the 36 listings state a weight and 17 do not; the 17 get no per-kilo figure and we say so on their cards rather than estimating one. Nothing has been weighed by us, so a stated weight is the listing's claim and not a verified measurement; where packaging weight is included in a stated figure, our rate is too low.
Dry fruit, chocolate and mithai are different commodities and a higher rate for one is expected, as is a higher rate for sugar-free preparation or elaborate packaging. A 50 g novelty set and a 2.17 kg sweet box are not competing purchases. The per-kilo figure is offered as arithmetic the shelf does not do for you, not as a ranking of which gift is better.
Two of the 36 listings state an MRP more than four times their selling price, the largest being Rs. 7,812 on a Rs. 625 hamper. We reproduce those figures and compute badges and multiples from them. We do not assert that any box ever sold at its stated MRP, and we do not allege wrongdoing by Amazon or by any brand or seller named.
This is a price read. No box has been ordered, delivered, opened, weighed or tasted, and no claim is made about ingredient quality, freshness, shelf life, allergens, hygiene, nutritional content or how anything travels. Sweets are perishable and shelf life matters for a gift - check the listing's own date and storage information. "Premium", "Royal", "Luxury" and "No Artificial Flavours" are the listings' own words, reproduced and not verified.
Across 36 listings read on 27 October 2026 from Amazon's own search results, prices ran Rs. 99 to Rs. 2,915 with a median of Rs. 512. Read by weight - which 19 of the 36 state and none prints as a rate - the same shelf runs Rs. 250 to Rs. 3,980 a kilo. The cheapest kilo was a Rs. 400 box of a stated 1.6 kg; the dearest was a Rs. 199 set of a stated 50 g.
In this read, the large assorted gift boxes. The five cheapest kilos on the shelf are all boxes of 1.4 kg or more from one brand, at Rs. 250 to Rs. 381 a kilo, and every one of them is badged between 14% and 26%. Every listing in the read at 500 g or below comes in above Rs. 600 a kilo. That is packaging and portioning as much as the sweets, and it is not a judgement about which makes the better gift.
Not on this shelf - it runs the other way. The deepest badge in the read, 92%, is on a Rs. 625 hamper that states no weight at all and claims an MRP of Rs. 7,812. The five cheapest kilos carry badges of 14% to 26%, and both 5% badges in the read sit on listings above Rs. 1,700 a kilo. The median badge across all 36 is 31.5%, which is shallow for Amazon, and the percentage is arithmetic on a figure the seller chose.
Because they are not only food. 17 of the 36 listings in this read state an item count - "8 Items", "13 item", "Combo of 18" - instead of grams, and their contents include diyas, candles, ceramic pieces and in one case a silk pocket square. That is a fair reason not to publish a weight. It also means those listings cannot be compared on rate at all, and they are systematically the ones with the deepest badges and largest stated MRPs on the shelf.
Very few. 32 of the 36 listings publish a rating count and the median is just 67; four publish none at all. The best-evidenced listings are not gift boxes but single-sweet packs - a 400 g besan ladoo with 3,111 ratings and a 180 g kaju katli with 2,246. One Rs. 1,378 box in this read has seven ratings. For a category bought once a year and given away unopened, that is thin evidence, and we report it as an absence rather than as a verdict.
