A shelf where Rs. 999 is the most-printed list price, the real prices under it span eight-fold, and two listings share one pool of 15,166 reviews.
We read 95 listings from Amazon's fairy-light, string-light, LED-diya and pooja-thali searches on 13 October 2026. Twenty-nine of them print exactly the same stated MRP — Rs. 999 — and those 29 sell for between Rs. 68 and Rs. 554. That is an 8.1-fold spread of actual money under one identical list price, which is the clearest reason not to shop this shelf by badge. The shelf also splits in two: 70 decorative lights at a median 75% badge and Rs. 209, against 33 brass and silver-plated pooja listings at 50% and Rs. 899. Fifty-two of the 70 lights sell under Rs. 300.
Every price below was pulled from Amazon India on October 13, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon India coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

First, sort by price, not by discount. Twenty-nine listings on this shelf print the identical Rs. 999 stated MRP and sell from Rs. 68 to Rs. 554, so the badge percentage is mostly telling you about the strike-through. Two listings here sell at exactly Rs. 249 with badges of 31% and 50%. Second, read the rating count, and check whether two listings share it exactly. Two The Purple Tree listings report 4.1 from exactly 15,166; two Desidiya listings report 4.0 from exactly 13,870. Identical counts mean you are probably looking at one pool of reviews, not two independent verdicts. Third, treat the brass aisle differently from the lighting aisle. Pooja listings discount at a median of 50% against the lights' 75%, and their evidence is far thinner — two sets here rest on eight and eleven ratings against a shelf median of 411. Fourth, remember what this page is. It is a price page. Nothing was bought, unpacked or plugged in, and no listing here is assessed for brightness, build, wiring, waterproofing, electrical safety or metal purity. Decorative lighting is a mains-powered electrical product: follow the manufacturer's instructions and check for the relevant Indian safety markings.

Each selling price, stated MRP, discount badge, star average and rating count here came from amazon.in's own search results, read on 13 October 2026, logged out, in India, with nothing purchased. Four queries — fairy lights for home, diwali string lights, led diya and pooja thali set — returned 95 unique listings; 26 are seated. Every count, median and range quoted is computed over all 95 rows, not over the 26 shown.
Treating 95 festive listings as one shelf would have produced a meaningless average. We separated the 70 decorative-light listings (median badge 75%, median price Rs. 209) from the 33 brass and silver-plated pooja listings (median badge 50%, median price Rs. 899) and report them separately, because the badge depth tracks which aisle a listing is in.
Amazon's pools on this shelf are unusually deep — 91 of 95 listings publish a rating and the median is 411 — but the brass aisle is the exception, with sets resting on eight and eleven ratings. A card here shows a rating pill only at 50 ratings or more. Smaller samples are stated in the card text with their size, because the number of raters matters more than the average.
Two The Purple Tree listings publish 4.1 from exactly 15,166 ratings; two Desidiya listings publish 4.0 from exactly 13,870. We give the figures and say what an identical count usually means — one review pool serving more than one listing or variant. We have not opened the listings to confirm any relationship between them and do not assert one.
No product on this page is assessed for brightness, build, wiring, waterproof rating, electrical safety, metal purity or durability. Lengths, LED counts, piece counts and material descriptions are the listings' own printed text, reproduced as printed. Decorative lighting is a mains-powered electrical product; follow the manufacturer's instructions and check for the relevant Indian safety markings before use.
Cheaper than the badges suggest you are saving. Across the 70 decorative-light listings we read on 13 October 2026, the median selling price is Rs. 209 and 52 of the 70 sell under Rs. 300. The cheapest in the whole read is a 36-LED serial light at Rs. 68; the dearest light seated here is an 80-LED diya curtain at Rs. 899. The median advertised discount on that lighting aisle is 75%. Figures read 13 October 2026 and subject to change.
Because Rs. 999 is the most frequently printed stated MRP on this shelf. Twenty-nine of the 95 listings we read print exactly Rs. 999 as their stated MRP, and those 29 sell for between Rs. 68 and Rs. 554 — an 8.1-fold spread of real money under one identical list price. Rs. 1,999 is the second most common, on 16 listings. A stated MRP is the figure a listing prints; the practical consequence is that the badge percentage tells you about the strike-through number, not about the product. Compare selling prices directly instead.
Not on this shelf, and we checked rather than assuming. The deepest badge seated here, 91% off, moves Rs. 175 of actual money. Meanwhile a PHILIPS string light badged just 31% and a Blossom badged 50% sell for exactly the same Rs. 249 — everything separating their percentages happens in the strike-through. The pattern that does hold is the opposite of the intuitive one: on this shelf the dearer lights generally carry the shallower badges.
We can report the gap without speculating about the cause. The 33 brass and silver-plated pooja listings in this read have a median badge of 50% against the lighting aisle's 75%, and a median price of Rs. 899 against Rs. 209. The shallowest badge anywhere in the read is a brass set at 3% off. The aisle's weakness is evidence, not price: two brass thalis seated here rest on eight and eleven ratings respectively, on a shelf whose median rated listing has 411.
An identical rating count across two listings is the clearest available sign that they share one review pool. Two The Purple Tree listings here, at Rs. 299 and Rs. 279 with badges of 77% and 86%, both report 4.1 from exactly 15,166 ratings. Two Desidiya listings, at Rs. 199 and Rs. 139, both report 4.0 from exactly 13,870. The ordinary and entirely legitimate explanation is that a platform aggregates reviews across variants of one product. It matters because two listings that look like independent well-reviewed options may rest on the same reviews. We report the figures and assert no particular relationship.
