The Morphy Richards 60 RCSS is one oven, with one model number. On 21 September 2026 Amazon sold it for Rs. 15,499 and called that 20 per cent off. Reliance Digital sold it for Rs. 16,999 and called that 50 per cent off. The shop advertising the bigger saving was charging Rs. 1,500 more.
We matched nine air fryers and OTGs stocked by both retailers on their model numbers and read every price within the same hour. Amazon was never the dearer of the two - but the useful finding is what the two shelves say the products are worth, which turns out not to be a shared fact.

Every price and stated MRP here was read on the afternoon of 21 September 2026 from amazon.in's own search results and reliancedigital.in's own search results, both as served to a logged-out visitor in India, within the same hour and with nothing purchased. Models were matched on the manufacturer model number printed in both listing titles. Appliance prices move frequently and both retailers run independent promotions, so we re-read both shelves and log any change here - in particular any change to the two stated MRPs that currently disagree.
Nine identical models, and Amazon is never the dearer of the two
We read Amazon's air fryer and OTG listings and Reliance Digital's within the same hour on the afternoon of 21 September 2026, logged out, in India - 47 listings on one and 33 on the other. Nine products appear on both shelves under the same manufacturer model number, which is what makes a price comparison meaningful rather than approximate.
On all nine, Amazon is cheaper than or equal to Reliance Digital. Not once is it dearer. Two are identical to the rupee. The rest run from Rs. 44 to Rs. 1,500 apart.
But the gap in the rupee price is not the interesting column. The interesting column is the one after it.

Read the two bold rows in the MRP column. On the Morphy Richards 60 RCSS and the Philips NA231/00, the two retailers publish different maximum retail prices for the same model. Everything else in that column matches.
The same OTG is '20% off' at one shop and '50% off' at the other
The Morphy Richards 60 RCSS is a 60-litre oven toaster griller with one model number and one manufacturer. On 21 September 2026, Amazon listed it at Rs. 15,499 against a stated MRP of Rs. 19,490 - a badge of 20 per cent. Reliance Digital listed it at Rs. 16,999 against a stated MRP of Rs. 33,995 - a badge of 50 per cent.
The retailer advertising the bigger saving is charging Rs. 1,500 more. The entire difference between a 20 and a 50 comes from the second number, and the two retailers do not agree on what that number is. One of them states an MRP Rs. 14,505 higher than the other for the identical product.
We are not in a position to say which figure is correct, and we are not alleging that either retailer has done anything improper - a maximum retail price is a figure a seller states, sellers source stock through different channels and at different times, and stating a high MRP is legal and commonplace across Indian retail. What the pair demonstrates is narrower and more useful: a discount percentage on one website cannot be compared with a discount percentage on another, because the number it is calculated from is not a shared fact about the product.
The Philips NA231/00 does the same thing in a smaller way - Rs. 12,995 stated at Amazon, Rs. 11,995 at Reliance Digital, and again Amazon is the cheaper of the two at Rs. 9,599 against Rs. 10,999.
How a second retailer proves a broken MRP is broken
Amazon's listing for the Prestige Nutrifry 4.5 L states a maximum retail price of Rs. 3,89,500 against a selling price of Rs. 3,895. That is exactly a hundred times, and it produces a 99 per cent badge. We found nine listings on Amazon's gardening shelf doing the same thing on the same day.
Reliance Digital lists the same Prestige Nutrifry 4.5 L air fryer at Rs. 4,199 against a stated MRP of Rs. 5,565.
That second figure is what turns an implausible number into a demonstrable one. A 4.5-litre air fryer with an MRP of Rs. 5,565 at one national retailer does not have an MRP of Rs. 3,89,500 at another. Whatever produced the Amazon figure - and we do not know what did, nor do we allege any wrongdoing by Amazon, by Prestige or by any seller - it is not a price anybody was ever asked to pay, and the 99 per cent calculated from it is not a saving. On the rupees, Amazon is still Rs. 304 cheaper.
Two products where the price is identical to the rupee
The Philips NA130/00 6.2-litre airfryer costs Rs. 6,999 at both retailers, against the same stated MRP of Rs. 8,995 and the same 22 per cent badge. The AGARO Marvel 9 L OTG costs Rs. 1,979 at both, against the same Rs. 2,799 and the same 29 per cent.
This is worth seeing because it is the normal case in Indian appliance retail and it is what the rest of the table is being measured against. When two chains stock the same model against the same manufacturer MRP, the prices tend to converge. The nine rows above contain two exact matches, three gaps under Rs. 700, and four gaps between Rs. 840 and Rs. 1,500 - and the largest gaps sit on the two models where the stated MRPs disagree.
One shelf publishes ratings. The other publishes none.
Every one of the 33 Reliance Digital listings we read returned no rating average and no rating count at all. Amazon publishes both on all nine matched models, with counts from 528 to 8,571.
That is not a criticism of Reliance Digital - a retailer is under no obligation to run a review system, and a chain with physical stores has other ways of advising a customer. But it does change how you use the two sites. If you want to know what owners think of the AGARO Marvel 9 L before you buy it, the 8,571 ratings at 3.9 are on Amazon and there is nothing to read at Reliance Digital. Given the price is identical at Rs. 1,979, that is a real argument for one shelf over the other on that particular product.
The highest-rated model in this set is the Philips NA130/00 and NA120/00 at 4.3, from 1,696 and 6,082 ratings respectively. The lowest are the two Morphy Richards OTGs and the AGARO 25 L at 3.8.
Neither retailer's delivery charge, installation policy, warranty handling or return window was compared here, and all four can differ between an online marketplace and a chain with physical stores. On a Rs. 16,999 appliance those terms may matter more than a Rs. 1,500 price gap - check both before you buy.

A badge is arithmetic over a number the seller states, so percentages on two different sites are not comparable. Compare the rupees.
Why did one listing show 99% off a Prestige air fryer?
Because Amazon's listing stated an MRP of Rs. 3,89,500 against a selling price of Rs. 3,895 - exactly a hundred times, which is the arithmetic signature of a decimal place rather than a price. Reliance Digital lists the same Prestige Nutrifry 4.5 L against a stated MRP of Rs. 5,565. We do not know how the Amazon figure was entered and allege no wrongdoing by anyone; the practical point is that the 99 per cent is not a saving, and on the actual rupees Amazon was Rs. 304 cheaper anyway.

Amazon published both on every matched model, with counts from 528 to 8,571.
