Thermals are bought late, in a hurry, on whichever app is already open. So we read every thermal listing Myntra and AJIO would show a logged-out shopper on the same morning and put the two shelves side by side.
They charge almost the same money — and a Decathlon BL100 costs exactly Rs. 699 on both. What differs is everything around the price: Myntra has fifteen listings at zero percent off and rates 64 of 83, AJIO has none at zero and rates not one of 86.
📅 Both shelves read 14 September 2026
Myntra Rs. 679 median, AJIO Rs. 621 median
Ratings published: 64 of 83 vs 0 of 86
📅 Update log:
14 Sep 2026 — first published. 83 listings read from myntra.com listing pages across four paths and 86 from ajio.com's own search API across three queries, both on 14 September 2026, logged out, in India, with duplicate product IDs collapsed. Medians, ranges and counts are our arithmetic on the prices, MRPs, badges and rating counts the two sites displayed. Thermal assortments change week to week through the winter, so we re-read both and log what has changed here.
Two shelves, almost the same prices, completely different presentation
We read every thermal listing both sites would show a logged-out visitor in India on 14 September 2026 — 83 on myntra.com and 86 on ajio.com — and the interesting differences are not in what these garments cost.
The median selling price is Rs. 679 at Myntra and Rs. 621 at AJIO, which on a Rs. 650 vest is a rounding error. The median discount badge is 26 percent at Myntra and 46 percent at AJIO, which is not. And the two shelves handle the extremes in opposite ways: Myntra has fifteen listings marked at zero percent off — nine of them Jockey, which is every Jockey listing it showed us — while AJIO has not a single one.
The largest gap is in evidence. Myntra published a star rating and a rating count on 64 of its 83 listings, several in four figures. AJIO published neither on any of its 86. Not one.
| What we measured | Myntra | AJIO | What it means |
|---|
| Listings read | 83 | 86 | Four Myntra paths, three AJIO queries |
| Median selling price | Rs. 679 | Rs. 621 | AJIO is 8.5% cheaper on the median |
| Price range | Rs. 354 to Rs. 2,117 | Rs. 198 to Rs. 1,303 | AJIO starts lower and stops sooner |
| Median discount badge | 26% | 46% | Almost double, on similar real prices |
| Listings at 0% off | 15 | 0 | Nine of Myntra's fifteen are Jockey |
| MRP three times the price or more | 16 | 10 | Fleece leggings on both |
| Listings with a star rating | 64 of 83 | 0 of 86 | AJIO publishes none at all |
The brand that prices identically on both, to the rupee
Decathlon is the control experiment on this shelf. Its Wedze BL100 men's thermal top sells at Rs. 699 against a Rs. 999 MRP with a 30 percent badge on both sites, and its women's BL100 at Rs. 549 against Rs. 999 at 45 percent on both. Same price, same list price, same badge, two retailers.
Then the same brand shows how the badge gets made. Its BL500 women's thermal is Rs. 999 on both sites — and the MRP printed above it is Rs. 1,299 at Myntra and Rs. 2,199 at AJIO. The badges that result are 23 percent and 55 percent for an identical garment at an identical price. If you were sorting either shelf by discount, you would reach two different conclusions about the same trousers.
Levi's does something similar across three listings. Its thermal bottom carries a Rs. 949 MRP on both sites, and sells at Rs. 588 on Myntra with a 38 percent badge, at Rs. 674 on AJIO with 29 percent, and at Rs. 949 on a second Myntra listing with no badge at all. One list price, three prices, two sites.
| Brand | Myntra | AJIO | The gap |
|---|
| Decathlon (Wedze BL100 men's top) | Rs. 699, 30% off Rs. 999 | Rs. 699, 30% off Rs. 999 | Identical to the rupee |
| Decathlon (Wedze BL100 women's top) | Rs. 549, 45% off Rs. 999 | Rs. 549, 45% off Rs. 999 | Identical to the rupee |
| Decathlon (Wedze BL500 women's) | Rs. 999, 23% off Rs. 1,299 | Rs. 999, 55% off Rs. 2,199 | Same price, two list prices |
| Levi's thermal bottom | Rs. 588 (38% off) and Rs. 949 (0% off) | Rs. 674, 29% off Rs. 949 | One Rs. 949 MRP, three prices |
| Van Heusen women's thermal top | Rs. 576, 45% off Rs. 1,049 | Rs. 547, 25% off Rs. 729 | AJIO Rs. 29 cheaper, badge half the size |
| Dollar / Dollar Ultra | 1 listing, Rs. 669, 0% off | 11 listings, median Rs. 664, median 52% off | Rs. 5 apart, 52 points apart |
| Aerowarm | 3 listings, median Rs. 779, 70% off | 2 listings, median Rs. 782, 73% off | The same house policy on both |
| Lux group | 9 listings, median Rs. 1,077, badges 5–15% | 33 listings, median Rs. 813, badges 5–53% | Split by sub-brand, not by site |
The Lux group splits by sub-brand, not by shop
The Lux group is the biggest presence on either shelf — nine listings at Myntra and thirty-three at AJIO — and at first glance it looks like the clearest case of one site discounting harder than the other. It is not.
What actually differs is which sub-brand each site stocks. Lux Cozi, Lux Cottswool and Lux Parker on Myntra badge between 5 and 15 percent. LUX COTT'S WOOL on AJIO badges exactly 5 percent on all six of its listings — the same shallow policy, on the same sub-brand, on the other site. The 45 percent median comes from LUX INFERNO, a line with twenty-seven listings at AJIO and none in our Myntra read at all.
The real prices land close together: a Lux garment costs a median of Rs. 1,077 at Myntra and Rs. 813 at AJIO, and the AJIO figure is lower mostly because Inferno sells vests and tops where Myntra's Cozi listings are mostly full sets. Dollar tells the same story more sharply: one listing on Myntra at Rs. 669 with no badge, eleven on AJIO at a median Rs. 664 with a median 52 percent badge. Five rupees apart in money, fifty-two points apart in presentation.
| Sub-brand | Where | Listings | Badge |
|---|
| Lux Cozi | Myntra | 6 listings | 10% median |
| Lux Cottswool | Myntra | 2 listings | 10% median |
| Lux Parker | Myntra | 1 listing | 15% |
| LUX COTT'S WOOL | AJIO | 6 listings | 5% on every one |
| LUX INFERNO | AJIO | 27 listings | 45% median |
Where each shelf starts and stops
AJIO starts lower and stops sooner. Its cheapest listing is a SAMVAR boys' ribbed thermal set at Rs. 198, badged 87 percent off a Rs. 1,509 MRP, and its dearest is an XYXX set at Rs. 1,303. Myntra runs from Rs. 354 to Rs. 2,117, the top end being fleece-lined thermal denim that AJIO does not stock.
The number worth holding on to is the third row of the table below. The cheapest Myntra listing with a four-figure rating sample is a Jockey camisole at Rs. 479 with no discount at all and 4,780 ratings. It costs Rs. 281 more than AJIO's cheapest set and Rs. 125 more than Myntra's own cheapest garment, and it is the only one of the three you can check anyone's opinion of.
| Claim | Number | The listing |
|---|
| Cheapest listing at AJIO | Rs. 198 | SAMVAR boys' ribbed set, 87% off Rs. 1,509 |
| Cheapest listing at Myntra | Rs. 354 | Kilvis fleece legging, 76% off Rs. 1,499 |
| Cheapest Myntra listing with 1,000+ ratings | Rs. 479 | Jockey camisole, 0% off, 4,780 ratings |
| Dearest listing at AJIO | Rs. 1,303 | XYXX thermal set, 13% off Rs. 1,498 |
| Dearest listing at Myntra | Rs. 2,117 | OGIMI thermal denim, 29% off Rs. 2,999 |
How to buy thermals across both
- Compare the price, never the badge. The same Decathlon BL500 is Rs. 999 on both sites with badges of 23 and 55 percent, because the two MRPs printed above it are Rs. 1,299 and Rs. 2,199.
- Go to Myntra if you want reviews. It rated 64 of 83 listings, some with 4,000 to 7,000 ratings. AJIO rated none of 86, which on a garment you cannot feel before buying is the single biggest difference between these two shelves.
- Go to AJIO for the cheap end. Its floor is Rs. 198 against Myntra's Rs. 354, and its median is Rs. 58 lower. Above roughly Rs. 1,300 it has nothing at all.
- Know that Jockey never discounts. All nine Jockey listings on Myntra sell at exactly their MRP. There is nothing to wait for, and four of the nine carry four-figure rating samples averaging 4.5 stars.
- Search the product name on both. One Levi's thermal bottom with one Rs. 949 MRP sold at Rs. 588, Rs. 674 and Rs. 949 across three listings on two sites on the same morning.
How we read both shelves
The method, in full
Eighty-three unique listings were read from myntra.com listing pages on 14 September 2026 as a logged-out visitor in India, parsed from the page's own embedded product data across four paths (men-thermal, women-thermal, thermal-wear and a second page of men-thermal). Eighty-six unique listings were read the same day from ajio.com's own search API across three queries (thermal, thermal wear, winter innerwear). Duplicate product IDs were collapsed on both.
Every median, range, count and percentage on this page is our own arithmetic on the prices, MRPs, badges and rating counts the two sites displayed. Brand groupings are ours, read from the listing titles; where a group runs several sub-brands (Lux, Dollar) we say which sub-brand each figure describes, because on this shelf the sub-brand is what sets the badge.
Matched-brand comparisons are made only where the two listings name the same range and the same garment — the Decathlon Wedze BL100 and BL500, the Levi's thermal bottom, the Van Heusen women's thermal top. We do not claim two listings are the identical manufactured item; we report that the titles, the ranges and, where shown, the MRPs match. Delivery charges, coupon codes, bank-card offers and cart thresholds are not visible in listing data and are not priced into anything here.
The short version
The prices are close — medians of Rs. 679 and Rs. 621, and a Decathlon BL100 that costs exactly Rs. 699 on both. The presentation is not: Myntra's median badge is 26 percent with fifteen listings at zero, AJIO's is 46 percent with none.
Buy on Myntra if the rating matters, which on thermals it probably should — it rates 64 of 83 listings and AJIO rates none of 86. Buy on AJIO if you want the cheap end, where it starts at Rs. 198.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is thermal wear cheaper on Myntra or AJIO?
Marginally cheaper on AJIO, on this read of 14 September 2026: median selling prices of Rs. 621 against Rs. 679, and a floor of Rs. 198 against Rs. 354. But the gap is small and brand-dependent — Decathlon's Wedze BL100 thermal top costs exactly Rs. 699 on both sites with the identical Rs. 999 MRP and the identical 30 percent badge, and its women's version Rs. 549 on both. Above about Rs. 1,300 AJIO has nothing; Myntra runs to Rs. 2,117.
Why does AJIO show bigger discounts on thermals?
Because of which brands and sub-brands it stocks, not because the garments cost less. AJIO's median badge was 46 percent against Myntra's 26, but its two biggest ranges are LUX INFERNO (27 listings, 45 percent median) and DOLLAR ULTRA (11 listings, 52 percent median), neither of which appears in our Myntra read. Where the same sub-brand appears on both, the badges match: LUX COTT'S WOOL badges 5 percent on all six of its AJIO listings, and Lux Cottswool badges 10 percent on Myntra. And one Decathlon garment is Rs. 999 on both sites with badges of 23 and 55 percent, because the MRPs above it are Rs. 1,299 and Rs. 2,199.
Does AJIO show customer ratings on thermal wear?
No. Not one of the 86 AJIO thermal listings in this read published a star average or a rating count. Myntra published both on 64 of its 83, including 7,268 ratings on a Levi's thermal top, 4,896 on a Decathlon women's BL100 and 4,872 on a Jockey undershirt. On a garment bought for warmth and fit, sight unseen, that is the most consequential difference between the two shelves on this page.
Which thermal brands never discount?
Jockey, on Myntra, without exception: all nine of its listings in this read sold at exactly their MRP, from a Rs. 479 camisole to a Rs. 949 microfiber top. Bodycare Insider, Tiny Hands and Dollar Ultra do the same there, making fifteen zero-badge listings out of 83. On AJIO there were no zero-badge listings at all, but LUX COTT'S WOOL came close with a flat 5 percent on all six of its tiles. In both cases the effect for a shopper is the same: the price you see is the price, and there is nothing to wait for.
What should a thermal set cost in India in 2026?
On these two shelves, between about Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,200 for a top-and-bottom set. AJIO's LUX INFERNO sets cluster at Rs. 508 to Rs. 921 and its cheapest (SAMVAR, boys') is Rs. 198; Myntra's Lux sets run Rs. 736 to Rs. 1,194, with the best-evidenced at Rs. 998 on 2,192 ratings. Single tops run lower — Rs. 335 to Rs. 750 on both. Fleece-lined winter leggings are a separate product and sell from Rs. 354 with badges of 70 to 88 percent, which say more about the list price than the legging.
Prices & codes last verified: 14 September 2026
Every selling price, maximum retail price, discount percentage, star rating and rating count on this page was read on 14 September 2026 — from myntra.com listing pages across four paths and from ajio.com's own search API across three queries — as served to a logged-out visitor in India, with nothing purchased and no account used. Duplicate product identifiers were collapsed on both sites. The medians, ranges, counts, list-price multiples and percentage comparisons quoted throughout are our own arithmetic on those displayed numbers. Maximum retail prices are quoted because both sites display them; a gap between an MRP and a selling price reflects the list price a brand chose to print for that listing, is not treated here as evidence of a saving, and no wrongdoing by Myntra, by AJIO or by Decathlon, Levi's, Jockey, Van Heusen, the Lux group, Dollar, Aerowarm, XYXX, SAMVAR or any other brand named is alleged or implied. Where the same brand's MRP differs between the two sites we report both figures and do not speculate about why they differ. Matched-brand comparisons are drawn only between listings naming the same range and garment; we do not claim that two such listings are the identical manufactured item, only that the titles, ranges and displayed figures match, and colour, size, batch and seller may differ. The absence of star ratings on the AJIO listings is reported as a fact about what those pages displayed and is not a criticism of any product. Fabric composition, insulation technology names and care claims are the brands' own listing statements and were not tested or verified; nothing here measures warmth, fabric weight, GSM, shrinkage, colourfastness or wash durability, and no garment on this page was handled by us. Both reads are samples taken once from listing sets each site ranks and re-ranks continuously; a different path, query, filter, size or day returns a different set, thermal assortments change through the winter, and prices can change within hours. Delivery charges, coupon codes, bank-card offers and cart-level thresholds are not visible in listing data, are not priced into any figure here, and can move your final cost in either direction; the price at your checkout prevails over anything on this page. Zoutons may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page; it does not change what you pay.
