Refrigerator Price India 2026: Amazon vs Croma on Four Same Models

We read both storefronts on the same day - 28 August 2026 - and looked for refrigerators that match on brand, capacity, star rating and cooling type. Four do. On every one of them amazon.in is cheaper than croma.com, by Rs. 800 at the narrowest and Rs. 3,700 at the widest.

The gap widens as the fridge gets bigger. On Haier's 190-litre direct-cool single door the difference is Rs. 800 at 2 star and Rs. 1,300 at 3 star. On Haier's 240 L frost-free double door it is Rs. 2,300. On Samsung's 236 L 2 star frost-free double door it is Rs. 3,700 - Rs. 25,990 against Rs. 29,690, or 14 per cent of the price.

Four pairs is a small sample and we are not claiming Amazon is cheaper on every refrigerator ever sold. What it does say is that on the models where a direct comparison is possible today, the marketplace price is the lower one, and the difference is large enough to be worth ten minutes of checking before you buy in either place.

The reason to open Croma is the seven own-brand refrigerators on it, none of which appear on Amazon's shelf. The Croma 185 L 2 star at Rs. 12,790 works out at Rs. 69 per litre, the 190 L at Rs. 70 and the 215 L at Rs. 73. Amazon's cheapest litre anywhere in its pull was Haier's 165 L at Rs. 73.

At the small end Croma has a 45-litre mini at Rs. 9,690 and an 84-litre at Rs. 10,690, both below anything Amazon's search returned that was actually a fridge - Amazon's sub-Rs. 5,000 results were a portable cooler and a fridge stand. At the other end, Croma's 251 L 3 star single door at Rs. 20,490 is the largest single door in either read; Amazon's single-door shelf stopped at 223 litres.

Own-brand appliances come with the usual caveat - the service network and resale value of a Croma-badged fridge are not the same proposition as a Haier or a Samsung, and this read cannot tell you anything about either. What it can tell you is that per litre of cold storage, nothing on Amazon's shelf matches them.

Read as whole shelves rather than as matched pairs, the two storefronts price differently at every level. Croma's single doors carry a median price of Rs. 15,740 and cost Rs. 94 per litre; Amazon's carry a median of Rs. 14,190 and cost Rs. 76. On double doors it is Rs. 131 per litre at Croma against Rs. 112 at Amazon.

Part of that gap is mix rather than pricing. Croma's single-door shelf includes 4 star and 5 star models that Amazon's search did not return - a Haier 190 L 5 star at Rs. 20,290, a Samsung RR23 215 L 4 star at Rs. 22,290 - and efficiency pushes the per-litre figure up on any shelf. The four matched pairs are the cleaner reading, and they point the same way.

Badges tell you very little on either site. Croma's median badge is 22 per cent on both shelves; Amazon's is 28 per cent on single doors and 20 on double doors. On the four matched models the badge is bigger on Croma in two cases and bigger on Amazon in two, while the price is lower on Amazon in all four.

Six Croma listings sit above Amazon's entire range, topped by a 650-litre Samsung French door at Rs. 1,84,490 - three and a half times Amazon's most expensive result. If you are shopping above Rs. 55,000, Amazon's popularity-ranked search simply did not surface anything for you on the day we looked.

Croma also carried the only LG refrigerators in either read: a 251 L convertible at Rs. 32,790, a 380 L smart WiFi model at Rs. 52,990 and a 466 L at Rs. 67,990. Amazon returned Samsung, Haier, Whirlpool, Godrej, IFB and Midea, but no LG at all.

So the honest split is this. For a mainstream branded fridge under Rs. 30,000 that both shops stock, Amazon was cheaper on all four models we could compare directly. For an own-brand fridge at the lowest possible price per litre, for LG, or for anything above Rs. 55,000, Croma was the shelf that had it.
