Lenovo's own store badges a ThinkBook at 51% off. Amazon badges the same family at 29%. Neither number tells you where the laptop is cheaper.
We read both on 5 September 2026 — 10 deals cards and 40 Amazon listings. Below: the four machines sold in both places and what each costs, why the badges diverge on near-identical prices, and the whole class of Lenovo laptop the deals page never shows you.

Lenovo rotates its deals cards and both sellers move prices without notice, so we re-read both and log what has changed here.
The same ThinkPad, Rs. 999 apart, with badges seven points apart
We read both places a Lenovo laptop is sold on 5 September 2026: the deals cards on Lenovo's own India store (10 cards, seven of them laptops) and 40 Lenovo laptop listings from Amazon.in's own search results. Lenovo's store advertises the deeper cuts — a median badge of 31% off against Amazon's 23%, and a top badge of 51%.
Then you look at the machines that appear in both places. A ThinkPad E14 with a Ryzen 7, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD is Rs. 97,991 on lenovo.com and Rs. 98,990 on Amazon. That is a gap of Rs. 999 on a laptop costing nearly a lakh. The badges, though, read 48% and 41% — because the two sellers state different reference prices for the same machine: Rs. 1,90,001 against Rs. 1,66,892, a difference of Rs. 23,109.
That is the whole lesson of this page. The percentage is a fact about the reference price the seller has typed in. The rupee figure is a fact about your bank account.

Four machines, both sellers
Beyond the E14, three more families showed up on both sides. The ThinkPad E16 with a Ryzen 5 is Rs. 89,990 on lenovo.com and Rs. 83,675 on Amazon — Amazon Rs. 6,315 cheaper while badging 8% off against Lenovo's 26%. The ThinkBook 14 runs the other way: Rs. 81,991 on lenovo.com against Rs. 89,990 on Amazon, and it carries the deepest badge on either shelf at 51% off a stated Rs. 1,70,001. The Legion Pro 5 is within Rs. 6,790 either way.
One caution, and it matters: outside the E14 row these are not guaranteed to be identical configurations. Both sellers describe a “ThinkBook 14, Ryzen 5, 16GB”, but Lenovo's card specifies a 512GB SSD and Amazon's listing a 1TB SSD with a Ryzen 5 220. Processor generation, panel and storage vary inside every one of these families, so read the row as family-against-family and confirm the exact configuration on the product page before you buy.
In two of the four cases Amazon was cheaper, in two Lenovo was, and in none of them did the deeper badge predict the lower price. We make no claim about why either seller prices or references as it does, and no wrongdoing by Lenovo or Amazon is alleged or implied.

₹ Where the badges come from. Five of the ten stated MRPs on Lenovo's deals cards end in the digits 001 — Rs. 1,70,001, Rs. 1,90,001, Rs. 75,001, Rs. 3,20,001. We report that as we found it and draw no conclusion from it; we cannot verify whether any stated maximum retail price on either site was ever a live selling price, and make no claim either way.
Lenovo's deals page has no affordable laptop on it
This is the difference that should actually change what you do. The cheapest laptop on Lenovo's deals page is Rs. 81,991 — the ThinkBook 14 and 16 — and nothing on that page sits under Rs. 60,000 except a tablet at Rs. 47,999 and a monitor at Rs. 16,829.
Amazon's Lenovo shelf is a different market. Nine of its 40 listings are under Rs. 60,000, starting at Rs. 51,990 for an IdeaPad 3, and IdeaPads make up 19 of the 40 listings. If you are shopping for a Rs. 55,000 Lenovo laptop, the deals page will not show you one; it is a shelf of ThinkPads, ThinkBooks and Legions.
The evidence gap points the same way. Thirty-two of Amazon's 40 listings carry a star rating — the V15 G4 has 491 ratings at 4.0, an IdeaPad Slim 3 has 84 at 4.0 — while Lenovo's deals cards publish no ratings at all. The counts on Amazon's premium ThinkPad listings are thin too (four ratings, eleven ratings), so this is most useful at the IdeaPad end.

What to do before you buy a Lenovo laptop
Decide the machine first, then check both tabs. On the one identical configuration we could match, the two sellers were Rs. 999 apart. The badge told you nothing useful: 48% against 41% on a Rs. 999 difference.
If your budget is under Rs. 60,000, start on Amazon. Lenovo's own deals page had nothing for you on the morning we read it. Nine Amazon listings were under Rs. 60,000 and 19 of the 40 were IdeaPads.
Confirm the configuration line by line. Two listings called “ThinkPad E14, Ryzen 5” on Amazon were Rs. 88,599 and Rs. 91,750 — different chips (7530U against 7535HS) behind near-identical names. Neither seller's badge helps you tell them apart; the spec sheet does.

The difference that matters is stock, not price. Lenovo's deals page had no laptop under Rs. 81,991. Amazon had nine under Rs. 60,000, from Rs. 51,990, and 32 of its 40 listings carried a star rating where Lenovo's cards carried none.

Elsewhere Amazon was Rs. 6,315 cheaper on a ThinkPad E16 while Lenovo was Rs. 7,999 cheaper on a ThinkBook 14 (whose Amazon listing carried a larger SSD). The clearest difference is not price but range: Lenovo's deals page had no laptop below Rs. 81,991, while Amazon listed nine Lenovo laptops under Rs. 60,000. Why does Lenovo's website show a bigger discount than Amazon on the same laptop?
Because the two sellers state different reference prices. In our samples the cheapest was a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 with an 11th-gen Core i3 and a 15.6-inch FHD screen at Rs. 51,990 on Amazon (13% off a stated Rs. 59,990, rated 4.0 on 84 ratings), followed by an IdeaPad Slim 3 with a Ryzen 3 at Rs. 52,990 and a V15 G4 at Rs. 54,890. Lenovo's own deals page carried nothing comparable: its cheapest laptop was Rs. 81,991. Note that lenovo.com sells beyond its deals page, so this is a statement about that page on that morning rather than about Lenovo's full catalogue.
Do Lenovo laptops on Amazon have customer ratings?
Most do. Thirty-two of the 40 Lenovo listings we read carried a star rating, though the counts are uneven: a V15 G4 had 491 ratings at 4.0 and an IdeaPad 3 had 84 at 4.0, while several premium ThinkPad listings carried four or eleven ratings. Lenovo's own deals cards published no ratings at all. If review evidence matters to your decision, it is most available at the IdeaPad and V-series end of Amazon's shelf and thinnest on the expensive ThinkPads at either seller. Are two laptops with the same name the same machine?
