Handbag Prices: Myntra vs AJIO September 2026, Where the Ratings Are

We read both bag shelves on the same afternoon - 55 listings on Myntra's sling bag and handbag pages, 73 on AJIO's - and the first difference is not a price.

Not one of the 73 AJIO listings publishes a customer rating. Not a low count, not a thin sample: the rating and the rating count come back empty on every listing, because AJIO's product data does not carry them. On Myntra the same afternoon, 43 of 55 bags published a rating, and the biggest count was 19,047 on a ZOUK shoulder tote.

That single structural fact shapes everything else on this page. Ratings are the only thing on a marketplace listing that comes from somebody other than the seller. Take them away and every number you are left with - the price, the crossed-out MRP, the percentage - was chosen by the party who wants the sale.

AJIO's median discount badge across our 73 listings is 61 per cent. Myntra's across 55 is 45. And where Myntra's shelf carried three listings at no discount at all - an adidas tote at Rs. 599 against a stated Rs. 599, a Marks & Spencer leather tote at Rs. 3,499 against Rs. 3,499 - not one AJIO listing in our read was priced at its stated MRP. Every single bag was on sale.

The brand-level patterns are where it gets legible. Eight Steve Madden listings all claim exactly 65 per cent off, at eight different prices from Rs. 1,925 to Rs. 3,150 - which is a formula applied to a price list rather than eight independent markdowns. Six of eight Caprese listings claim 79 to 85 per cent, with stated MRPs up to Rs. 5,999 on bags selling from Rs. 459.

None of that makes the bags bad or the prices high. Caprese at Rs. 459 and Steve Madden at Rs. 1,925 are real prices for real brands. It means the percentage is decoration, and on this shelf there is no second source - no rating, no count, no review text - to tell you anything the seller did not choose to tell you.

Five brands appeared on both shelves in our reads - Fastrack, Puma, Zouk, Lino Perros and Diva Dale - and the overlaps are the most useful rows on this page.

The cleanest is Fastrack's textured sling. Both platforms state the same MRP of Rs. 1,699, which tells you it is a real list price rather than an invention. Myntra sells it at Rs. 968 with 2,470 ratings at 4.7; AJIO sells it at Rs. 1,070 with nothing published. Myntra is Rs. 102 cheaper and vastly better documented.

It does not run one way. On the Diva Dale cross-body, AJIO is Rs. 386 cheaper. And Zouk - a direct-to-consumer brand selling on both - shows how elastic a stated MRP is: AJIO lists six Zouk slings at Rs. 999 to Rs. 1,299 against stated MRPs of Rs. 2,565 to Rs. 3,452, while Myntra's two Zouk bags carry stated MRPs of Rs. 4,330 and Rs. 4,863. Same brand, same season, list prices Rs. 1,400 apart depending on the storefront.

Buy from Myntra when the bag exists on both. You get a price that in our read was usually equal or lower, and you get the thing AJIO cannot give you at all: the number of people who have already bought it. On the Fastrack sling that difference is Rs. 102 and 2,470 ratings.

Buy from AJIO for the brands Myntra's shelf does not carry. Eight Steve Madden listings, eight Caprese, Accessorize London, Allen Solly - AJIO's bag catalogue leans towards mall and department-store labels, and if you want those, this is where they are. You are buying on the brand's reputation rather than on the platform's evidence, which is a perfectly reasonable thing to do with a Caprese or a Steve Madden and a poor idea with a label you have never heard of.

And on either shelf, ignore the percentage. The same Fastrack sling carries the same Rs. 1,699 MRP on both, which is what an honest list price looks like - while one Zouk bag family carries stated MRPs Rs. 1,400 apart on the two sites, which is what the rest of it looks like.
