88 courses read from the GeeksforGeeks catalogue on August 8. One exam year, eight prices, and almost no published evidence.
No sale is running at GeeksforGeeks - the homepage sale banner is switched off - so we read the whole course catalogue on August 8 to see what the standing prices look like. Eighty-eight courses, and two things stand out immediately. The catalogue is essentially one exam: 77 of the 88 are GATE batches, and all nine of the ratings published anywhere in the catalogue belong to the eleven courses that are not. And one exam year is sold at eight different prices - GATE 2028 runs from Rs. 18,749 to Rs. 34,999 for the same syllabus, separated by batch letter, scheduling, recordings and one add-on nobody defines. The 21 picks below are read on the fees.
Every price below was pulled from GeeksforGeeks on August 8, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our GeeksforGeeks coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.
Eight of the eleven non-GATE courses in the catalogue, priced Rs. 3,999 to Rs. 17,999. This is where all the evidence lives: nine courses in the whole catalogue publish a rating, and every one of them is in this group. The scores run 4.3 to 4.9 - a spread of six-tenths of a star - so what separates them is sample size, which runs from 22 learners to 1,002.
Rs. 14,999 against a struck Rs. 29,999, rated 4.9 by 102 learners.
Why it earned its spot It carries the highest published rating in the catalogue and the exact price pair GeeksforGeeks advertises on its own courses page.
Rs. 6,999 at 30 per cent, with 1,002 ratings - ten times any other course here.
Why it earned its spot A thousand ratings is an order of magnitude more evidence than anything else in the catalogue carries.
Rs. 3,999 at 60 per cent - the cheapest course here with a published rating.
Why it earned its spot It is the lowest-priced course carrying any owner evidence at all, at 4.7 from 404 learners.
Rs. 7,999 at 38 per cent, 4.7 stars from 208 learners.
Why it earned its spot It is the cheapest live-cohort skills course with a rating, which makes it the entry point to that format.
Rs. 14,999 at 38 per cent, 263 ratings, and a counter reading 2 seats.
Why it earned its spot It pairs one of the better evidence bases here with one of the five seat counters in the catalogue.
Rs. 17,999 at 30 per cent - the priciest course outside the GATE catalogue.
Why it earned its spot It tops the skills range and shows the shallowest badge among the rated courses.
Rs. 14,999 at 35 per cent, 16 weeks, with a counter reading 1 seat.
Why it earned its spot It is the newest subject in the catalogue and carries the thinnest evidence of any rated course.
Rs. 14,999 at 40 per cent, rated 4.3 - the weakest published score here.
Why it earned its spot It closes the chapter as the lowest-rated course in the catalogue, which on this scale still means 4.3.
Six GATE 2028 batches from Rs. 18,749 to Rs. 28,999 - the same exam, the same syllabus, packaged six ways. What moves the price is batch letter, weekday or weekend scheduling, whether recordings are included, whether placement preparation is bundled and whether the GATE-Pedia component is added. The badge falls as the price rises, from 28 per cent to 17, because the rungs share struck figures.
Rs. 18,749 at 28 per cent - the entry point to the two-year GATE 2028 programmes.
Why it earned its spot It opens the chapter at the bottom of a ladder that climbs to Rs. 34,999 for the same exam year.
Rs. 21,999 at 27 per cent, 156 weeks against Batch D's 104.
Why it earned its spot It prices the difference between a two-year and a three-year preparation window on the same exam.
Rs. 22,499 at 25 per cent - Rs. 3,750 above the same batch without GATE-Pedia.
Why it earned its spot It isolates the price of a single bundled component on an otherwise identical batch.
Rs. 26,999 at 23 per cent - Rs. 5,000 above the same batch without recordings.
Why it earned its spot It prices class recordings, which for a working candidate is the component that decides whether a live course is usable at all.
Rs. 27,499 at 21 per cent, 156 weeks - Rs. 500 more than the 104-week equivalent.
Why it earned its spot Five hundred rupees separates a two-year and a three-year version of the same package, which is worth naming.
Rs. 28,999 at 17 per cent - the top of the single-stream GATE 2028 ladder.
Why it earned its spot It closes the ladder at the highest price and the smallest badge, which is the pattern this chapter demonstrates.
Seven listings spanning the whole catalogue, from a test series at Rs. 1,428 to the only classroom programme at Rs. 64,999. Two GATE 2029 listings sit inside this range and cannot be reconciled from the page: two streams for Rs. 22,999, or one stream for Rs. 54,999. Both are live-plus-recording-plus-placement programmes for the same exam year.
Rs. 1,428 at 71 per cent - the lowest price across all 88 courses.
Why it earned its spot It sets the floor of the catalogue, and it is a different kind of product from everything above it.
Rs. 4,999 at 38 per cent, 52 weeks of question practice.
Why it earned its spot It prices the second tier of self-study, between a test series and a full batch.
Rs. 6,999 at 46 per cent - the deepest discount on any focused GATE batch.
Why it earned its spot It is the deepest badge outside the big combos, on a short intensive programme for an exam six months out.
Rs. 9,999 at 23 per cent - Rs. 8,750 below the cheapest live 2028 batch.
Why it earned its spot It prices the gap between self-paced and live GATE preparation, which is the biggest single decision in this catalogue.
Rs. 22,999 against a struck Rs. 89,999 - 74 per cent, the deepest here.
Why it earned its spot It carries the largest gap between fee and struck figure anywhere in the catalogue, and it is worth reading carefully.
Rs. 54,999 at 21 per cent, 208 weeks - Rs. 32,000 above the two-stream combo.
Why it earned its spot It is the counterpart to the pick above and the second-most expensive course in the catalogue.
Rs. 64,999 at 13 per cent - the most expensive course in the catalogue, and the only classroom one.
Why it earned its spot It closes the page as the catalogue's ceiling and its only in-person offering, which is a different product entirely.
Four rules the numbers here support. First: ignore the discount percentages entirely in the GATE catalogue - the rungs of a single ladder share struck figures, so the badge falls as the price rises and tells you nothing about what you get. Second: write down what each rung actually includes - recordings, placement preparation, weekday or weekend classes, GATE-Pedia, and how many weeks of access - and price the differences yourself; on this ladder recordings cost Rs. 5,000, an extra year costs Rs. 500 to Rs. 3,250, and one undefined component costs Rs. 3,750. Third: divide the fee by the weeks. A Rs. 18,749 two-year batch is about Rs. 180 a week of live teaching, which is the comparison that works against a rival institute and the badge is not. Fourth: on the skills side, choose on sample size rather than score, because the nine rated courses span 4.3 to 4.9 while their rating counts span 22 to 1,002. On August 8, 2026 we read GeeksforGeeks' course catalogue from the same paginated endpoint its courses page renders from, and kept every course returning a batch fee. That produced 88 courses, which is the denominator for every count on this page. Each record carries the fee, a struck promotional fee, a duration in weeks, a course type and, for some, a published rating, a rating count and a seats-left counter. No sale banner was live on the homepage when we read it, so nothing on this page describes an event; these are the standing prices.
Seventy-seven of the 88 courses are GATE preparation batches; eleven are the skill, placement and interview courses. The page structure follows that split because the evidence follows it too: nine courses publish a rating and all nine are among the eleven non-GATE ones. Not a single GATE batch in the catalogue carries a rating or a review count. That is a total absence rather than a thin sample, and it means no rating pill appears on any GATE pick here and nothing in Chapters Two or Three is ranked by score.
GATE 2028 CS & IT and DA batches appear at Rs. 18,749, Rs. 21,999, Rs. 22,499, Rs. 26,999, Rs. 27,499, Rs. 28,999, Rs. 31,999 and Rs. 34,999 - eight price points for one exam year, with the two streams priced identically at every rung. The variables that move the price are batch letter, weekday against weekend scheduling, whether class recordings are included, whether placement preparation is bundled and whether the GATE-Pedia component is added. We report the ladder and the increments; we do not know what GATE-Pedia contains, and we say so rather than guessing.
Five of the 88 courses publish a seats-left counter, reading 1, 1, 2, 2 and 10. We print those figures where they exist because they are part of what a buyer sees, and we treat them as displayed values rather than as audited availability - a counter reading 1 on a live online cohort is not a claim we can check from outside, and we make no assertion either way about how such figures are produced. Eighty-three of the 88 courses show no counter at all.
Nothing on this page has been enrolled in, attended or completed by us. Every description of syllabus, format, duration and inclusions is drawn from the catalogue's own fields and course names, reported as such. Two things the catalogue does not state and which decide whether a course is worth its fee: what placement support actually consists of, and for how long recordings remain accessible after a batch ends. Both are worth asking before paying, and neither appears in any listing we read.
Start by ignoring the discount percentages, because on this ladder they fall as the price rises - the Rs. 18,749 batch shows 28 per cent and the Rs. 28,999 one shows 17, and both are computed from struck figures the institute set. What actually differs across the eight price points is packaging. Recordings cost about Rs. 5,000, which for anyone preparing while working is not optional; a live GATE course runs on a fixed schedule for two years and no working candidate attends all of it. An extra year of access costs between Rs. 500 and Rs. 3,250 depending on the rung, which is cheap if you are starting now and worthless if you are not. The GATE-Pedia component costs Rs. 3,750 and no listing says what it is, so ask before paying for it. Then divide the fee by the number of weeks and compare that against other institutes.
Nine of the 88 are, and none of those nine is a GATE batch. The rated courses are the skill and placement programmes: Placement 360 at 4.7 from 1,002 learners, the DSA and System Design course at 4.9 from 102, the machine learning course at 4.7 from 404, the Java backend course at 4.6 from 263, and five others. Every GATE batch in the catalogue - all 77 of them - publishes no rating and no review count at all. For the GATE side that is a serious gap, because the things that decide whether a two-year coaching programme is worth Rs. 25,000 are whether the faculty stays consistent, whether doubts get answered and whether the promised recordings arrive - exactly what past batches would tell you. The workable substitutes are asking for a demo class and finding candidates from previous batches directly.
On the catalogue's own numbers, yes, and we cannot reconcile it from the page. One listing offers GATE CSIT and DA together for 2029 at Rs. 22,999 against a struck Rs. 89,999, described as live classes over 156 weeks. Another offers a single-stream GATE 2029 weekday programme at Rs. 54,999 against a struck Rs. 69,999, over 208 weeks with recordings and placement support. So the cheaper listing covers two streams and the dearer one covers one, and the gap is Rs. 32,000. The differences that could explain it - batch timing, faculty, whether recordings are included, what placement support means, how many weeks of access - are not stated on either listing. Before paying either fee, ask the institute for both scopes in writing and compare them line by line.
It saves Rs. 8,750 and removes the thing you are mostly paying for. The GATE-DA self-paced course is Rs. 9,999; the cheapest live two-year GATE 2028 batch is Rs. 18,749. What the extra buys is a schedule, a cohort moving at the same pace, and someone to answer a question the same week you have it. For GATE specifically that matters more than in most subjects, because the exam rewards two years of consistent daily work and the main failure mode is not difficulty but drift. If you have completed a self-paced course end to end before, the saving is real and you know it. If you have not, assume the structure is the product and price accordingly. A separate option worth knowing: the Rs. 1,428 test series is worth buying alongside any coaching programme, including a competitor's.
Between Rs. 3,999 and Rs. 17,999, and this is where all the published evidence sits. The cheapest rated course is the self-paced machine learning and data science programme at Rs. 3,999 with 404 ratings. Placement 360 at Rs. 6,999 has 1,002 ratings, ten times more than anything else in the catalogue. The MERN full-stack course at Rs. 7,999 is the cheapest live cohort with a rating. At Rs. 14,999 there are four: DSA and System Design, Java backend, Generative AI and Data Analytics. The most expensive is DevOps and Cloud Engineering at Rs. 17,999. All nine rated courses score between 4.3 and 4.9, a spread of six-tenths of a star, so the score cannot separate them - choose on sample size, on whether you need a live cohort or can work self-paced, and on which stack the jobs you want actually ask for.
