We ran the same five category pulls on all three sites on 17 August 2026 - washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, televisions and microwave ovens - and read every price and stated MRP from each retailer's own listings. Croma returned 209 listings, Vijay Sales 135, Reliance Digital 60.
Then we matched them. One machine matches by model code, and it is Rs. 2,700 apart on the two sites that print it. Across eleven Croma and Vijay Sales pairs matched on brand, capacity, star rating and load type, Vijay Sales is cheaper on ten. And the badges are useless across sites, because each retailer writes its own stated MRP - the same Samsung machine carries two different ones.
📅 Update log:
17 Aug 2026 — first published. All 404 listings, prices, stated MRPs and badges read today from Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales's own listing data across five appliance categories. We re-run this comparison and log every price that moves; appliance prices at all three retailers change daily.
The Same LG Washing Machine, Rs. 2,700 Apart - 17 August 2026
Model codes are the only way to be certain two appliance listings are the same machine, and appliance retailers print them inconsistently. On August 17 we found one that two of these three sites both print: LG's T80VBMB1Z, an 8 kg fully automatic top-load washing machine. Croma lists it at Rs. 23,190. Reliance Digital lists it at Rs. 20,490. Same code, same capacity, same day - Rs. 2,700 apart, which is 12 per cent of the cheaper price.
Note what the badges do while that happens. Croma shows 25 per cent off a stated Rs. 30,990; Reliance Digital shows 29 per cent off a stated Rs. 28,990. The dearer listing carries the higher stated MRP, so the percentages are closer together than the prices are. Vijay Sales also lists an LG 8 kg top-load at Rs. 20,490 on the same day, but its listing does not print a model code, so we are not calling that a third price for the same machine.
| Site | Price on 17 Aug | Stated MRP | Badge |
|---|
| Croma | Rs. 23,190 | Rs. 30,990 | 25% |
| Reliance Digital | Rs. 20,490 | Rs. 28,990 | 29% |
Why model codes matter here. Every other comparison on this page is matched on brand, capacity, star rating and load or mount type - not on a code - because these three retailers name the same machine four different ways. A spec match tells you the two listings are the same kind of appliance at the same rating. It does not prove they are the same SKU, and we flag it as a spec match every time.
Three Sites, One Spec: Where All Three Stock the Same Thing
Three spec matches turned up across all three sites in these pulls. Each row below reads price, then stated MRP, then badge. The prices spread by Rs. 2,010 on the washing machine, Rs. 4,559 on the Godrej and Rs. 5,500 on the Voltas - and on all three rows the site with the biggest badge is not the same as the site with the lowest price on every row, which is the whole reason to read prices instead of percentages.
The Samsung row is the clearest. Croma and Reliance Digital charge exactly the same money, Rs. 25,000, off exactly the same stated MRP of Rs. 31,990. Vijay Sales charges Rs. 22,990 - Rs. 2,010 less - and shows a 39 per cent badge rather than 22, because its stated MRP for the same 8 kg machine is Rs. 37,990, six thousand rupees higher than the other two. The badge difference is 17 points; the actual difference is Rs. 2,010.
| Spec-matched appliance | Croma | Reliance Digital | Vijay Sales |
|---|
| Samsung 8 kg 5 star top-load washing machine | Rs. 25,000 / Rs. 31,990 / 22% | Rs. 25,000 / Rs. 31,990 / 22% | Rs. 22,990 / Rs. 37,990 / 39% |
| Voltas 1.5 ton 3 star inverter split AC | Rs. 37,990 / Rs. 64,990 / 42% | Rs. 35,990 / Rs. 64,990 / 45% | Rs. 32,490 / Rs. 60,990 / 47% |
| Godrej 1.5 ton 3 star inverter split AC | Rs. 32,490 / Rs. 45,300 / 28% | Rs. 28,990 / Rs. 45,900 / 37% | Rs. 33,549 / Rs. 44,150 / 24% |
Croma vs Vijay Sales: Eleven Matched Pairs, Ten Go One Way
Croma and Vijay Sales overlap far more than either does with Reliance Digital, and the pattern in the overlap is one-sided. Of the eleven spec-matched pairs we could build, Vijay Sales is cheaper on 10 - by Rs. 1,009 to Rs. 6,500 - and Croma is cheaper on one, a Carrier split AC, by Rs. 804. Sorted by how much money is actually at stake:
The LG front-load row at the top is the one worth pausing on: Rs. 6,500 on a Rs. 30,490 machine is 21 per cent of the purchase price, and both listings are 5 star, 7 kg, front-load LG machines with inverter direct-drive motors. They are not certainly the same SKU - LG sells several near-identical front-loaders - which is exactly why the next step for a buyer is to compare the model codes on the two product pages before paying either price.
| Spec-matched appliance | Croma | Croma badge | Vijay Sales | VS badge | Gap | Cheaper |
|---|
| LG 7 kg 5 star front-load washing machine | Rs. 36,990 | 20% | Rs. 30,490 | 35% | Rs. 6,500 | Vijay Sales |
| Bosch 9 kg front-load washing machine | Rs. 45,990 | 30% | Rs. 41,990 | 36% | Rs. 4,000 | Vijay Sales |
| Voltas 1 ton 3 star inverter split AC | Rs. 34,490 | 38% | Rs. 30,490 | 44% | Rs. 4,000 | Vijay Sales |
| Daikin 1.5 ton 5 star inverter split AC | Rs. 52,490 | 22% | Rs. 48,990 | 28% | Rs. 3,500 | Vijay Sales |
| Daikin 1.5 ton 3 star inverter split AC | Rs. 39,490 | 28% | Rs. 37,490 | 33% | Rs. 2,000 | Vijay Sales |
| Daikin 1 ton 3 star inverter split AC | Rs. 37,490 | 21% | Rs. 35,490 | 27% | Rs. 2,000 | Vijay Sales |
| LG 11 kg 5 star top-load washing machine | Rs. 36,990 | 16% | Rs. 34,990 | 33% | Rs. 2,000 | Vijay Sales |
| LG 8 kg 5 star front-load washing machine | Rs. 40,990 | 20% | Rs. 38,990 | 39% | Rs. 2,000 | Vijay Sales |
| Samsung 7 kg 5 star top-load washing machine | Rs. 18,690 | 17% | Rs. 17,490 | 35% | Rs. 1,200 | Vijay Sales |
| Whirlpool 7.5 kg 5 star top-load washing machine | Rs. 19,499 | 16% | Rs. 18,490 | 28% | Rs. 1,009 | Vijay Sales |
| Carrier 1.5 ton 3 star inverter split AC | Rs. 34,190 | 50% | Rs. 34,994 | 49% | Rs. 804 | Croma |
The Other Two Pairings, Including One That Goes the Other Way
Reliance Digital's feed returned only 60 listings across the five categories against Croma's 209 and Vijay Sales's 135, so it produced fewer matches - but it produced the single largest gap on this page, and in its own favour.
| Spec-matched appliance | Pairing | First site | Second site | Gap |
|---|
| Voltas 1.5 ton 5 star inverter split AC | Reliance Digital vs Vijay Sales | Rs. 36,490 (43%) | Rs. 44,490 (41%) | Rs. 8,000 - Reliance Digital cheaper |
| LG 1.5 ton 3 star inverter window AC | Reliance Digital vs Vijay Sales | Rs. 37,990 (46%) | Rs. 35,500 (49%) | Rs. 2,490 - Vijay Sales cheaper |
| Panasonic 1.5 ton 5 star inverter split AC | Croma vs Reliance Digital | Rs. 49,990 (26%) | Rs. 48,990 (27%) | Rs. 1,000 - Reliance Digital cheaper |
Only One of the Three Publishes Ratings
This is the structural difference a shopper should probably care about most, and it has nothing to do with price. Croma publishes a customer rating on 129 of its 209 listings. Reliance Digital publishes none on any of its 60. Vijay Sales publishes none on any of its 135. That is read from the same feeds the prices came from, on the same day.
So on Croma you can see that an appliance has been bought and scored; on the other two sites, at least through the listing data, you cannot. If you are buying an unfamiliar brand or a house label, that is worth more than a two-thousand-rupee price gap. If you are buying a Voltas or a Samsung you have already researched, it is worth less.
| Site | Listings in the pull | Price range | Median badge | Listings with a rating |
|---|
| Croma | 209 | Rs. 1,899 - Rs. 2,24,990 | 25% | 129 of 209 |
| Vijay Sales | 135 | Rs. 6,290 - Rs. 2,09,392 | 31% | 0 of 135 |
| Reliance Digital | 60 | Rs. 4,988 - Rs. 89,290 | 32.5% | 0 of 60 |
How we matched these listings, and what the match does not prove
We ran the same five category pulls on each site on 17 August 2026 - washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, televisions and microwave ovens - and kept every listing that carried a price and a higher stated MRP. That produced 209 listings at Croma, 135 at Vijay Sales and 60 at Reliance Digital. We then matched listings across sites on four attributes taken from the listing title itself: brand, capacity in kilograms or tons, star rating, and load or mount type (top load, front load, split, window).
What that match does not prove is that two listings are the same SKU. These three retailers describe the same machine differently - one names a series, one prints a model code, one lists features - so a matched pair can be two trims of one range rather than one product. Where we are certain, we say so: the LG T80VBMB1Z row is a model-code match and nothing else on this page is. One pair we discarded outright, a Whirlpool 7 kg 5 star top-load at Rs. 17,070 on Croma and Rs. 10,900 on Vijay Sales, because the second listing is a semi-automatic machine and the first is fully automatic - a Rs. 6,170 gap that means nothing.
What is also missing: bank offers, no-cost EMI, exchange values and installation charges, none of which any of the three publishes in listing data. Those routinely move an appliance price by more than the gaps on this page, and they are the reason you should price the final cart rather than the listing. We have not tested any of these prices at checkout, and appliance prices at all three retailers change daily.
How to Use This Before You Buy an Appliance
- Find the model code, then price that code. It is the only comparison that is certain. Croma and Reliance Digital both printed LG's T80VBMB1Z and were Rs. 2,700 apart; everything else on this page is matched on specification.
- Ignore the badge across sites. The same Samsung machine shows 22 per cent at two retailers and 39 per cent at the third - which is the cheapest of the three, but only by Rs. 2,010, not by 17 points.
- Check Vijay Sales first on white goods, then verify. On the eleven matched pairs here it was cheaper on ten. That is a pattern in one day's data on five categories, not a law - re-check, because the one exception went the other way by Rs. 804.
- Use Croma when you want the rating. It is the only one of the three that publishes customer scores in its listings, on 129 of 209 here. On an unfamiliar brand that is worth more than the gap.
- Price the cart, not the listing. Bank discounts, no-cost EMI, exchange and installation are not in any of these numbers and are routinely larger than the differences on this page.
- Re-check the day you buy. Every figure here was read on 17 August 2026 from each retailer's own listing, and appliance prices at all three move daily.
Zoutons Verdict
On one day's reading of five appliance categories, the three big electronics retailers are not interchangeable and they are not far apart either. The gaps that matter are in the low thousands: Rs. 2,700 on the one machine we could match by model code, Rs. 1,009 to Rs. 6,500 across eleven spec-matched Croma and Vijay Sales pairs, Rs. 8,000 on the one Voltas 5 star split where Reliance Digital undercut Vijay Sales.
The practical order is: shortlist the appliance on Croma, where you can see a rating on most listings; then price the same model code at Vijay Sales and Reliance Digital, in that order, because Vijay Sales won ten of eleven matched pairs and Reliance Digital produced the single biggest saving on the page. Then ignore all three badges. The percentages on this page disagree by up to 17 points on machines whose prices differ by two thousand rupees, because each retailer writes its own stated MRP.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is cheaper, Croma or Vijay Sales?
On the eleven spec-matched pairs we could build from both sites on 17 August 2026, Vijay Sales was cheaper on ten and Croma on one. The gaps ran from Rs. 1,009 on a Whirlpool 7.5 kg top-load to Rs. 6,500 on an LG 7 kg 5 star front-load, and the one Croma win was a Carrier 1.5 ton split AC by Rs. 804. Two cautions. First, these are matches on brand, capacity, star rating and load type rather than on model code, so a pair can be two trims of one range - compare the codes on the product pages before you pay. Second, this is one day's data across five categories, not a standing rule; both retailers reprice daily and neither of these figures includes bank offers, exchange or installation.
Do Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales sell at the same price?
Sometimes exactly, more often not. In this read Croma and Reliance Digital listed the same Samsung 8 kg 5 star top-load at an identical Rs. 25,000 off an identical stated MRP of Rs. 31,990, and Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales listed an LG 8 kg top-load at an identical Rs. 20,490. But the same LG T80VBMB1Z was Rs. 23,190 at Croma and Rs. 20,490 at Reliance Digital, a Rs. 2,700 difference on a model code both sites print; a Voltas 1.5 ton 3 star split spread Rs. 5,500 across the three; and a Voltas 1.5 ton 5 star split was Rs. 8,000 cheaper at Reliance Digital than at Vijay Sales. So the answer is to price your specific model at all three on the day.
Why do the discount percentages differ so much between these sites?
Because each retailer writes its own stated MRP, and the badge is arithmetic against that number. The clearest example on this page: the same Samsung 8 kg machine carries a stated MRP of Rs. 31,990 at Croma and Reliance Digital and Rs. 37,990 at Vijay Sales, so Vijay Sales shows a 39 per cent badge against their 22 - while the actual price difference is Rs. 2,010. The same thing happens on an LG 8 kg front-load, where the stated MRPs are Rs. 51,490 and Rs. 63,990 for machines priced Rs. 2,000 apart. A cross-site percentage comparison is a comparison of two MRP fields, not of two prices.
Which of the three shows customer ratings?
Only Croma, in this read. It published a customer rating on 129 of its 209 listings across the five categories. Reliance Digital's 60 listings and Vijay Sales's 135 carried no rating at all in the same pull. That is a real difference in what you can check before buying: on Croma you can see whether a machine has been scored by buyers, and on the other two you have to go elsewhere for that. It matters most on unfamiliar brands and house labels, and least on a model you have already researched, where the price gap decides it.
Are these appliance prices the final price I pay?
No, and none of the three publishes the rest of it in listing data. Bank card discounts, no-cost EMI, exchange value on your old appliance and installation or demo charges all land after the listing price, and on a Rs. 30,000 appliance any one of them can be larger than the gaps on this page. The prices here are each retailer's own listed price on 17 August 2026, read from its own listing feed and not tested at checkout. Use them to shortlist and to know roughly what a fair number looks like, then price the final cart on each site with your card and your exchange before deciding.
Prices & codes last verified: 17 August 2026
Every price, stated MRP and discount percentage on this page was read on 17 August 2026 from Croma's, Reliance Digital's and Vijay Sales's own listing data, using the same five category pulls on each site, and is reproduced as each retailer published it. Stated MRPs are each retailer's own figure and differ between them for the same appliance; no percentage here should be read as a saving we have verified. Except for the LG T80VBMB1Z row, which is matched on a model code both sites print, every comparison on this page is matched on brand, capacity, star rating and load or mount type - a specification match, which does not prove two listings are the same SKU, and a matched pair may be two trims of one range. We discarded one pair outright because one listing was a semi-automatic machine and the other fully automatic. Bank card offers, no-cost EMI, exchange values, installation and demo charges are not published in any of these feeds and are excluded; they routinely change an appliance's final cost by more than the gaps shown here. We have not tested any price at checkout, and prices at all three retailers change daily. Zoutons may earn a commission if you buy through links on this page; it does not change what you pay, and nothing here was reviewed or approved by Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales or any brand named.
