Croma Own-Brand Appliance Prices September 2026: Rs. 1,849 Upwards

Croma sells its own-brand appliances alongside LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, IFB and Haier on the same shelves. On 2 September 2026 its own-brand block ran from Rs. 1,849 (a 10L oven toaster grill) to Rs. 20,990 (a 10 kg fully automatic washer), 20 listings in all, with discount badges from 0 to 54 per cent — the widest spread of any brand on the page.

The full context first, because the own-brand prices only mean something against what the rest of the shelf charges.

Sixty-three listings came back from Croma's own search on 2 September 2026 across refrigerators, washing machines and microwave ovens, plus the oven-toaster-grills that sit in the same aisle. The medians are close together for the two big categories and far apart for the small ones.

A refrigerator on this shelf has a median price of Rs. 17,690 and a washing machine Rs. 18,190 — effectively the same money. Microwaves sit at Rs. 9,990, and the OTG shelf is the only genuinely cheap one, starting at Rs. 1,849.

The discount percentages, though, do not track the category. They track who made the appliance.

Split the same 63 listings by brand and a pattern appears immediately. Croma's own appliances carry the biggest discounts on the page — up to 54 per cent, median 25 — while LG, Whirlpool, Samsung and IFB sit in a 6–28 per cent band.

The reason is visible in the MRP column rather than the price column. Nineteen of the twenty Croma-own-brand listings have an MRP that is an exact round thousand: Rs. 4,000, Rs. 8,000, Rs. 12,000, Rs. 16,000, Rs. 20,000, Rs. 24,000, Rs. 28,000, Rs. 36,000. Across the 43 brand-name listings, only two do — the rest read Rs. 24,190, Rs. 26,999, Rs. 91,990, Rs. 17,699.

We are not claiming to know what those round numbers represent; we can only report that they are how Croma writes the MRP on its own products and not how the brands write theirs. What it means for a shopper is simple: on this shelf the percentage badge is a fact about the MRP, and the only number worth comparing across brands is the rupee price.

Here is the whole own-brand block, with Croma's MRP beside its selling price so you can see the arithmetic yourself. The washers are where the deepest badges are: a 7.5 kg fully automatic at Rs. 13,790 against Rs. 24,000, a 10 kg at Rs. 20,990 against Rs. 36,000.

Worth pausing on the ratings. The 7.5 kg machine with the 43 per cent badge has the most feedback of any Croma appliance here — 67 ratings — and the worst score on the page at 2.9 out of 5. The 8 kg semi-automatic at Rs. 9,490 has 27 ratings at 4.4. Where a listing shows “5.0” against one or three ratings, that is not a signal.

Strip the own brand out and the shelf becomes ordinary. The single largest brand-name discount across all 63 listings is 34 per cent, on a Haier 190-litre direct-cool fridge at Rs. 15,990. Haier is the most aggressive brand here, 27 to 34 per cent across four listings.

At the top end, LG's 466-litre smart convertible is Rs. 67,990 against an MRP of Rs. 91,990 — the largest rupee saving on the page at Rs. 24,000, on a 26 per cent badge. That is the difference between reading percentages and reading money.

Two listings carry real rating volume and both are worth knowing about: the Samsung 7 kg top loader at Rs. 18,190 has 121 ratings at 4.4, and LG's 28L convection microwave at Rs. 15,990 has 73 at 4.6. On a shelf where most listings have one or two ratings, those two are the only ones with a crowd behind them.

Ignore the badge. On this page the percentage tells you how the MRP was written, not how good the deal is — the two 0 per cent Croma microwaves and the 54 per cent Croma OTG come from the same pricing system.

Compare rupees within a category and a capacity. A 6.5 kg fully automatic top loader is Rs. 12,790 own-brand; a 7 kg Samsung with 121 ratings is Rs. 18,190. That Rs. 5,400 gap is the real decision, and it is not what either badge is advertising.

And treat the ratings as mostly absent. Fifteen listings out of 63 have ten or more ratings. For the rest, a 5.0 is one person.
