The median across all 48 is Rs. 2,449 and the median badge is 28 per cent — which is a much shallower shelf than most fashion or small-appliance listings, and the reason why is entirely about which brands are on it.

The discount ladder is a brand ladder
Group the 48 listings by brand and the badges sort themselves almost perfectly, from the brands that do not discount to the brands whose pricing is built around discounting.
Apple sits at a 5 per cent median badge across five listings, and its deepest is 10 per cent. OnePlus is at 6 per cent, Marshall at 14, Sony at 20. At the other end, boAt runs a 67 per cent median across six listings and Noise 72 per cent across two.
That is a brand-pricing structure, not a sale. A brand that lists at its own MRP cannot show a big badge; a brand that sets a high MRP and sells well below it always can. Croma's own brand is the biggest block on its own shelf
