Amazon Washing Machine Price August 2026: Rs. 4,999 to Rs. 34,690

Six of the washing machines from this August 2026 read of Amazon listings - Midea and Bosch front loaders, LG and Godrej top loaders and VW and LG semi-automatics - shown as they appear on their Amazon listing pages
Zoutons Picks — Amazon, August 2026

Twenty-one machines read on 26 August, Rs. 4,999 to Rs. 34,690. A kilogram of drum costs Rs. 588 or Rs. 4,399, and the word 'washing machine' is doing all the hiding.

Prices & codes last verified August 26, 2026

We read Amazon's washing machine shelves on 26 August 2026 and seated 21 machines from Rs. 4,999 to Rs. 34,690. One word covers three appliances here, and dividing price by stated drum capacity separates them instantly. A kilogram costs Rs. 588 to Rs. 1,899 on a semi-automatic, Rs. 2,320 to Rs. 2,856 on a fully automatic top loader, and Rs. 3,061 to Rs. 4,399 on a front loader. The clearest consequence is on one card: a 10.5 kg semi-automatic at Rs. 9,999 holds more laundry than every automatic machine on this page and costs less than all of them. What you pay the difference for is not capacity. It is labour.

Every price below was pulled from Amazon on August 26, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

Four rules for buying a washing machine on Amazon

First: decide semi-automatic, top load or front load before you compare any prices, because they are three appliances sharing a shelf and their per-kilogram rates barely overlap. Second: divide the price by the stated kilograms every time - nine machines in this read cost more per kilogram than a machine holding three kilograms more. Third: within one brand, check the next size up before you buy the smallest, because fixed costs mean bigger drums are often cheaper per kilogram - Bosch's 9 kg beats its own 7 kg on rate. Fourth: read the BEE star rating and the motor type rather than the discount badge, the same reasoning we applied to what a litre of hot water costs on Amazon. Then check the live coupon and bank-offer page before checkout.

What we skipped — and why

What we skipped, and why: three searches returned 45 listings, of which 43 carried both a selling price and a stated MRP after sponsored placements were removed. Three of those were not washing machines at all - a Rs. 347 top-load machine COVER, whose stated 6 kg made it look like the cheapest capacity on the page at Rs. 58 a kilogram, a Rs. 1,299 adjustable machine stand rated to 350 kg, and an IFB 9/6/3 kg washer-dryer at Rs. 51,990 whose three capacities make a single per-kilogram figure meaningless. All three were dropped. We also left out ten listings whose titles state no machine type, because this page is built on the price gap between three types and assigning a type ourselves would be our inference rather than Amazon's statement - that removed a Godrej Smart Choice 7 kg at Rs. 15,490, a Samsung 7 kg Eco Bubble at Rs. 18,690 with 5,864 ratings, and five machines above Rs. 25,000 including two 9 kg LGs at Rs. 41,990. Finally we seated one machine per capacity where a brand listed the same drum twice, which removed a second Bosch 8 kg front loader at Rs. 35,190.

What we look for

We divide the price by the stated drum capacity, on every card

Capacity in kilograms is stated by every listing seated here and means the same thing on all of them, so it is the number we price against. The spread is enormous and it maps almost perfectly onto machine type rather than onto brand: semi-automatics in this read run Rs. 588 to Rs. 1,899 a kilogram, fully automatic top loaders Rs. 2,320 to Rs. 2,856, and front loaders Rs. 3,061 to Rs. 4,399. A kilogram of front-load capacity costs up to seven times a kilogram of the cheapest semi-automatic. Every card prints the figure so the comparison is available before the adjectives are.

We do not infer a machine type a listing has not stated

Ten of the 43 usable listings in our pull describe a machine without using the words semi-automatic, top load or front load anywhere in the title - several of them are clearly front loaders from their feature descriptions, and several are clearly top loaders. We left all ten out rather than classify them ourselves, because the entire structure of this page is the price gap between three types and a type we assigned by inference would be our claim rather than Amazon's. That removed some genuinely good machines, including a Godrej 7 kg at Rs. 15,490 and a Samsung 7 kg Eco Bubble at Rs. 18,690.

We drop listings that are not washing machines, however they are filed

Our capacity parser read three listings as machines that are not. A Rs. 347 'Top Load Fully Automatic Washing Machine Cover' returned a price per kilogram of Rs. 58, which would have been the bargain of the page had it been a machine; a Rs. 1,299 adjustable machine stand states a 350 kg load capacity, which produced a figure of Rs. 4 a kilogram. Both were dropped. So was an IFB 9/6/3 kg washer-dryer at Rs. 51,990, because a machine with three stated capacities has no single per-kilogram figure and printing one would be a fabrication.

We do not print a rating pill over a sample too small to average

Two listings seated here carry averages built on almost nothing - an IFB 7 kg top loader with a 5.0 from a single rating, and the Midea front loader with 4.2 from 37. Neither card renders a rating pill and both explain why in the text. Where a count is thin but usable we say so rather than hiding it: the LG 10 kg's 68 ratings and the Whirlpool 6.5 kg's 508 are both flagged. Where a count is repeated across a brand's other models - VW shows 4.2 from 2,600 on all three of its machines here - the card says so, because that count describes a line rather than a machine.

We separate what a listing states from what it merely implies

Capacity, machine type, BEE star rating, motor type and named wash technologies are printed on these listings and we quote them. Motor warranty term, drum material, water consumption per cycle and spin RPM are absent from nearly every listing in this read, and those are the specifications that decide running cost and lifespan. Where a listing names a feature without quantifying it - 'AI powered' programme selection on two IFB machines, 'Self Clean' on the Midea - we report the claim and say what is missing rather than treating the phrase as a measured benefit.

FAQs

Is a semi-automatic washing machine worth buying in 2026?

On price per kilogram of laundry it is not close - and on effort it is a real trade. In this read semi-automatics cost Rs. 588 to Rs. 1,899 for every kilogram of drum capacity, against Rs. 2,320 upwards for the cheapest fully automatic top loader. The clearest case is a 10.5 kg VW at Rs. 9,999, which holds more laundry than any automatic machine seated here and costs Rs. 6,241 less than the cheapest of them. What you give up is that a semi-automatic does not move the load for you: you fill it with a hose, and when the wash finishes you lift sodden clothes from the wash tub into the spin tub by hand. For a household with an outdoor drying line, space for a wide cabinet and no objection to that step, it remains by a distance the cheapest way to wash a lot of clothes. For a flat with a balcony rack and a full working week, it is not.

Why do front load washing machines cost so much more per kilogram?

Because the engineering is genuinely different, not because the drum is bigger. A front loader tumbles clothes through a shallow pool of water rather than agitating them in a full tub, which cuts water use substantially, and it spins at much higher speeds so laundry comes out far drier and needs less line time. Achieving that requires a sealed drum, a heavier chassis to absorb spin vibration, a door lock and a more capable motor. In this read that translates to Rs. 3,061 to Rs. 4,399 a kilogram against Rs. 2,320 to Rs. 2,856 for top loaders and as little as Rs. 588 for a semi-automatic. Whether it is worth it depends mostly on your water supply and your drying situation - in a flat with limited drying space, the faster spin is worth more than the price gap suggests.

Is a bigger washing machine cheaper per kilogram?

Within one brand and one machine type, usually yes - and across the shelf as a whole, no. Bosch demonstrates the within-brand pattern cleanly in this read: its 7 kg front loader is Rs. 4,199 a kilogram, its 8 kg is Rs. 3,936 and its 9 kg is Rs. 3,854. The motor, drum bearing, control board and cabinet cost roughly the same whatever the drum holds, so a larger drum spreads those fixed costs further. The same logic makes IFB's 6 kg front loader, at Rs. 4,248 a kilogram, the second-dearest capacity on this page despite being one of the cheaper machines in total. Across the shelf the pattern breaks, because bigger machines also tend to be more sophisticated types - so always compare sizes within one brand and one type, never across the whole page.

Why do three VW washing machines show the same number of ratings?

Because Amazon pools customer ratings across the variants of a product line rather than keeping them per model, and appliance brands often list several capacities as variants of one parent listing. In this read all three VW semi-automatics - the 8.5 kg washer-only at Rs. 4,999, the 7.5 kg twin tub at Rs. 7,490 and the 10.5 kg at Rs. 9,999 - show 4.2 from exactly 2,600 ratings, even though the first has no spin tub and is a materially different product from the other two. The practical consequence is that the reviews cannot help you choose between them. Not every listing does it: LG's 8,373 ratings on its 7 kg semi-automatic, the largest count on this page, appeared only once in our pull, as did Whirlpool's two independent 7 kg top-load counts of 1,382 and 2,147, which is why that Rs. 750 price gap is unusually informative.

Which washing machine on this page should I actually buy?

For a family with an outdoor drying line and floor space, the VW 10.5 kg semi-automatic at Rs. 9,999 is the best arithmetic on this page by a wide margin - more capacity than any automatic here for less money - with the caveat that its 2,600 ratings are shared with two other VW machines. If you want a semi-automatic backed by evidence and a service network, the LG 7 kg at Rs. 11,990 has 8,373 ratings at 4.4, the strongest published feedback in the read. For a hands-off machine on a budget, the Whirlpool 7 kg top loader at Rs. 16,990 is the pick over its Rs. 16,240 sibling, because Rs. 750 buys a 4.2 average from 2,147 ratings instead of 3.8 from 1,382. And if you are buying a front loader, Bosch's 8 kg at Rs. 31,490 beats its own 7 kg at Rs. 29,390 on both rate per kilogram and rating count - Rs. 2,100 for an extra kilogram is the best-priced step in the chapter.

Every selling price, stated MRP, discount percentage, rating average and rating count here was read on 26 August 2026 from amazon.in's own search results across three queries - washing machine front load, washing machine top load 7 kg and semi automatic washing machine. Forty-five listings returned; 43 carried both a price and a stated MRP once sponsored placements and any listing whose MRP was arithmetically impossible were removed, and the 21 seated here were chosen for machine type, capacity, brand and price spread after dropping every listing whose product photograph duplicated one already used. Capacities, machine types, BEE star ratings, motor types and named wash technologies are quoted from the listings as printed and are reported rather than tested - we have not installed, plumbed, filled, run or measured any washing machine on this page, and we have not verified any brand's warranty term, water consumption, spin speed or service response, none of which these listings state. Price-per-kilogram figures are our own arithmetic over Amazon's selling price and the capacity stated in the listing title. Three listings that are not washing machines - a machine cover, a machine stand and a three-capacity washer-dryer - were dropped rather than priced, and ten listings stating no machine type were left out rather than classified by us. An MRP is the figure the listing shows and we have not verified that any product was sold at it, so every discount percentage here is arithmetic over Amazon's own two numbers rather than a measured saving. Rating counts on this shelf are sometimes shared across every model in a product line - all three VW machines here show one count - and each affected card says so; two listings carrying averages over one and 37 ratings render no rating pill at all. Amazon prices change without notice and can differ at checkout after coupons, exchange offers or bank discounts are applied - re-check before paying.
