Diwali 2026 Dates and Sale Calendar: November 6-10, Offers, Prices

The main day of Diwali 2026 — Lakshmi Puja — is Sunday, 8 November 2026. The five-day festival runs from Friday 6 November (Dhanteras) to Tuesday 10 November (Bhai Dooj). We cross-checked that against three published almanacs on 26 September 2026 and they agree.

One caveat worth stating plainly: the observed day can differ by a day in some regions and traditions, because the festival follows the lunar calendar and the tithi does not align neatly with a 24-hour clock. Muhurat timings differ by city for the same reason. Check your local panchang for puja timings — this page is about dates and prices, and it is not religious guidance.

What matters commercially is that this is a late Diwali. In 2025 the festival fell in October; in 2026 it is three weeks into November. That one fact rearranges the entire shopping calendar, and it is the reason this page exists.

Here is the thing most Diwali shopping guides will get wrong this year. Flipkart's Big Billion Days 2026 runs from 8 October — Plus and VIP members get in from midnight on the 8th, everyone else from the 9th. That is Flipkart's own published wording on its own Big Billion Days page, read on 26 September 2026, where the event is currently labelled Upcoming.

Diwali is 8 November. So the largest sale of the Indian retail year opens and closes roughly four weeks before the festival it is associated with. If you wait for Diwali week to shop, the big discount event will already have been and gone.

Amazon has not announced its Great Indian Festival dates. We checked amazon.in's own Great Indian Festival page on 26 September 2026: it was live, and it published no dates at all. We are not going to invent a window for it. In previous years it has run close to Flipkart's event, but "close to Flipkart's event" is a pattern, not an announcement, and we will update this page the day Amazon says something.

Stripped of speculation, November 2026 contains four dated things: the five days of Diwali from the 6th to the 10th, Children's Day on 14 November, Black Friday on 27 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November. The last two are arithmetic rather than announcements — US Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday, which in 2026 is 26 November, so Black Friday is the 27th.

Black Friday has become a real event on Indian sites over the past few years, particularly for electronics, fashion and software subscriptions. But we have not seen a single Indian merchant announce Black Friday 2026 dates or offers as of 26 September, and we are not going to tell you what will be discounted on a date two months away. When merchants announce, this page gets updated.

No Indian retailer has announced a November 2026 sale to us. That sentence is the honest state of the calendar today, and it is more useful than a list of invented "expected" windows. The three merchant events we can name with dates all sit in October.

The single most useful thing you can carry into a sale is what the item costs today. Everything in this table is from our own reads of merchant listing data this month — each row says which shelf and which date — and none of it is a forecast.

Two patterns from those reads are worth knowing before the festive season. First: the discount badge varies far more by aisle than by product. On Amazon's puja shelf on 26 September, diya sets showed a median 76 per cent off while incense showed 18 — and incense was the aisle where every single listing carried a rating. On AJIO's jacket shelf the same day, one label declared an MRP 9.09 times its selling price while another declared 1.05 times.

Second: the best-evidenced products are usually the least discounted. On Nykaa, the 35 listings under Rs. 500 averaged 17,641 ratings each while the eight over Rs. 5,000 averaged 158 — and the serum aisle's median badge was just 12 per cent. If a festive sale puts 70 per cent on something that was at 10 per cent all September, the number to check is the stated MRP, not the percentage.

We are not predicting any price. Not one figure on this page is a forecast, and nothing here says a product will be cheaper, dearer or the same in November than it is today.

We are not naming a sale that has not been announced. Amazon's Great Indian Festival has no published dates as of 26 September 2026 and this page says exactly that rather than guessing. Where a third-party site tells you the Big Billion Days is live today, it is wrong — Flipkart's own page labels it Upcoming and gives 8 and 9 October.

And we are not offering religious guidance. The dates here are the widely published almanac dates; observance varies by region and tradition, muhurat timings vary by city, and your local panchang prevails over anything written here.
