Amazon Almond and Cashew Price Per Kg September 2026: Rs. 749 Up

We pulled Amazon's results for "almonds 1kg", "cashew 1kg" and "ghee 1 litre" on 25 September 2026 and divided every price by the weight the listing itself states. A kilo of almonds costs between Rs. 899 and Rs. 1,598, with a median of Rs. 1,128. A kilo of cashews costs between Rs. 749 and Rs. 1,898, median Rs. 941. A litre of ghee runs from Rs. 299 to Rs. 2,890.

Then we grouped each shelf by price band and looked at what the ratings do. The pattern is the same on both nut shelves and it is not subtle. The 17 almond listings under Rs. 1,000 a kilo average 3.44 stars on a median of 18 reviews. The 10 between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,300 average 4.02 stars on a median of 2,530 reviews. On cashews: 3.38 stars under Rs. 1,000 against 3.88 above it, with the median review count jumping from 69 to 2,864.

That is a correlation on one day's search results, not a law of nuts - and we set out below exactly what it is not evidence of. But it is a useful thing to know before you sort by price ascending. On this shelf, the cheapest kilo is usually also the least-reviewed and the worst-rated kilo, and the gap between Rs. 999 and Rs. 1,139 buys you the difference between 3.4 stars on 18 reviews and 4.0 stars on 11,980.

The Rs. 999 kilo of almonds is not one product. Thirteen separate listings sell a kilo of California almonds at exactly Rs. 999, from eleven brand names - Go Vegan (twice), GreenFinity, NUTRIZAIKA, Eatmate, PrettyNutty, JUNGLE FLORA, NUTVAYA, HELIUM, HighFresh, THE NUT LUXURY and one listing with no brand in the title at all.

What separates them is entirely on the review side. Their star averages run from 2.1 to 5.0 with a mean of 3.37, and their review counts run from 2 to 3,032. Go Vegan's listing carries 3.5 from 3,032 reviews; NUTVAYA's carries 5.0 from four; NUTRIZAIKA's carries 2.1 from 13; the unbranded one carries 2.1 from 18. Same price, same stated weight, same words in the title.

The cashew shelf does the same thing inside a single brand. Five Avogro listings sell a 1kg pack of whole cashews at the same Rs. 879, and they are rated 1.2, 1.9, 2.2, 3.0 and 5.0 - on 41, 21, 131, 76 and one review respectively. A sixth Avogro listing is Rs. 849 and rated 2.7 from 61. If you are choosing between them on price you are choosing between identical numbers.

Thirty-five of the 40 almond listings state a weight we could read without guessing. The five we dropped are ones whose titles give a flavour or a grade but no gram figure.

The four largest review counts on the shelf all sit above Rs. 1,100 a kilo: Tulsi at Rs. 1,449 with 19,209 reviews, Vedaka's 500g pack at Rs. 1,190 a kilo with 16,967, Happilo at Rs. 1,349 with 14,111 and Vedaka's 1kg at Rs. 1,139 with 11,980. Below Rs. 1,000 a kilo, the largest count in the read is Go Vegan's 3,032.

Two listings are worth reading twice. Vedaka sells the same almonds at Rs. 1,139 a kilo (1kg pack) and Rs. 1,190 a kilo (500g pack) - the small pack costs 4.5 per cent more per kilo, which is the usual direction. And Tulsi's Gurbandi 500g at Rs. 799 works out at Rs. 1,598 a kilo, the dearest rate in the read, while the same brand's California 1kg at Rs. 1,449 is nine per cent cheaper per kilo - a different variety at a different rate from one seller.

Thirty-eight of 40 cashew listings state a readable weight. The band is Rs. 749 to Rs. 1,898 a kilo with a median of Rs. 941 - wider than almonds at the bottom and at the top.

Pack size behaves exactly as you would expect here, and it is worth seeing the size of the penalty. Tata Sampann's cashews cost Rs. 1,128 a kilo in the 1kg pack, Rs. 1,130 in the 500g pack and Rs. 1,375 in the 200g pack - the small jar is 22 per cent dearer per kilo than the big one, on the same product from the same brand. Vedaka's 500g pack is Rs. 1,198 a kilo against Rs. 1,049 for its 1kg broken-cashew pack, though those are different grades.

The largest review count in this entire read belongs to Vedaka's 500g whole cashews: 4.1 from 35,567. It is Rs. 1,198 a kilo - the ninth-dearest cashew rate on the shelf. The cheapest cashew rate, Rs. 749 a kilo, is a cashew-and-anjeer combo with a single review behind it.

Thirty-three ghee listings state a readable volume, and the band is the widest thing on this page: Rs. 299 to Rs. 2,890 a litre, a spread of 9.7 times, median Rs. 905.

The Rs. 299 listing deserves naming rather than leaving in a range. It is Swarajya India's Surya Jyoti Pooja Ghee - a lamp ghee, sold for ritual use, and the listing says so in its own title. Take it out and the cheapest litre in the read is Rs. 339. The mass-market tier sits between Rs. 604 and Rs. 995: Nestlé EVERYDAY at Rs. 604 with 12,504 reviews, Patanjali at Rs. 670 with 9,254, Amul at Rs. 676, Mother Dairy at Rs. 905 with 10,198 and again at Rs. 995 with 10,335.

Above that sits the A2 and bilona tier, and it is where almost all the price is. Gavyamart's A2 is Rs. 1,199 a litre, Anveshan's Gir cow ghee Rs. 2,180, Namakwali's Badri Rs. 2,799 and GirOrganic's Rs. 2,890 - that last one is 4.8 times the Nestlé EVERYDAY rate. Their ratings are high (4.1 to 4.3) and several have large samples - GirOrganic has 5,270 reviews, Anveshan's 2.5-litre dolchi has 8,353. This page prices them; it makes no claim at all about whether A2, bilona, Gir, Badri or grass-fed describes a difference you would taste or benefit from.

No pack was opened and nothing was weighed, so a stated weight is the seller's figure and not ours.

The band-by-band rating pattern is a correlation across one day's search results and nothing more. It does not establish that cheaper nuts are worse nuts. Several other explanations fit the same numbers just as well: newer sellers price low to enter the shelf and have not accumulated reviews; a listing with 18 reviews has a star average that moves several tenths on one unhappy customer, while one with 12,000 barely moves at all; delivery, packaging and freshness complaints land on the seller's star average regardless of what is in the bag. We are reporting what the shelf shows, not diagnosing why.
