A third of the “vacuum cleaner for home” shelf is a car duster
We read 62 vacuum listings from Amazon's own search results on 3 September 2026 and kept 47. Seventeen of those 47 — more than a third — are 12V car vacuums and small rechargeable handhelds. Six are under Rs. 1,000. They appear on the “vacuum cleaner for home” search, and they are not house vacuums.
This matters because those 17 listings are what pull the aisle's median price down to Rs. 4,298. Filter them out and the picture changes completely: the cheapest machine here that will actually clean a floor is a Eureka Forbes Compact canister at Rs. 3,199, and the cheapest wet-and-dry drum is Rs. 3,619.
A Rs. 399 handheld with a blower attachment is a genuinely useful object for a car footwell or a keyboard. It is not a floor cleaner, its dust capacity is measured in millilitres, and most of these listings say so in the title if you read past the price. The search does not make the distinction for you, so the table below does.

The deep badges sit elsewhere. INALSA's 10 litre wet-and-dry is 62% off, BLACK+DECKER's corded drum 62%, KARCHER's WD 3 V 57%. The deepest badge in this whole group belongs to a Gesto 3-in-1 at Rs. 999 against a stated Rs. 3,999 — 75% off — rated 3.8 from 83 ratings. 💡 Read the dust capacity, not the suction claim. The kPa and Pa figures in these titles are measured differently by different brands and are not comparable across them. Dust capacity in litres is a plain physical number: the handhelds here hold a few hundred millilitres, the household drums 10 to 21 litres.
The six listings we removed before counting
Six listings in the original 62 stated a maximum retail price at almost exactly 100 times the selling price — a Eureka Forbes wet-and-dry at Rs. 7,199 against a stated Rs. 7,19,900, a dreame H11 at Rs. 16,999 against Rs. 16,99,900, a DREAME L50 robot at Rs. 27,999 against Rs. 27,99,900. Each renders as a 99% off badge.
That is a decimal-point defect in the listing data rather than a discount on offer, and we removed all six before computing any figure on this page rather than reproducing a 99% badge as real. We cannot tell from outside where in the chain the error occurs and allege no wrongdoing by anyone; the underlying selling prices may be perfectly ordinary.
