Amazon OTG and Microwave Oven Prices September 2026: OTGs From Rs. 1,749

We read 82 oven listings from Amazon's own search results on 3 September 2026 and kept 62 after removing accessories and listings with broken MRPs. Split those 62 by what the appliance actually is, and the aisle falls into two halves that behave nothing alike.

The OTG half — oven toaster grillers, which bake with heating coils — runs a median of Rs. 4,499 at a median 47% off. Eighteen of the 29 are under Rs. 5,000. The microwave half runs a median of Rs. 13,580 at a median 15% off, and only four of the 25 are under Rs. 8,000.

So the appliance that looks like a bargain on this aisle is consistently the OTG, and the reason is not that microwaves are being withheld from the sale. It is that these are different machines at different price points, and only one of them is sold with a big badge on it. An OTG bakes, toasts and grills; it does not reheat in two minutes. A solo microwave reheats and defrosts; it does not bake a cake. Sorting an “oven” search by discount quietly chooses one of those for you.

The OTG aisle starts at Rs. 1,749 for a Pigeon 9 litre without rotisserie and reaches Rs. 18,367 for a 60 litre Morphy Richards. The useful middle — 19 to 28 litres, enough for a cake tin or a tray of cookies — sits between Rs. 3,500 and Rs. 5,000, which is where most of this table lives.

Twenty of the 29 OTG listings carry a badge of 40% off or more, against four of 25 on the microwave side. Read that as a fact about how the two shelves are priced rather than as 20 bargains: a 71% badge on a Cadlec 28 litre reduces a stated Rs. 11,999 to Rs. 3,499, while the Lifelong 10 litre beside it takes 14% off a stated Rs. 3,200 to reach Rs. 2,756. The second listing has the smaller badge and the more believable maximum retail price.

Wattage is the specification worth reading here and it is in most of the titles: 800W on the smallest models, 1,200–1,500W on the 20 to 28 litre ones. Capacity in litres and wattage together decide what you can actually bake, and neither is visible in the discount percentage.

Median discount across the 25 microwaves we read was 15%. The best-rated machines on the shelf are discounted least of all: IFB's 30 litre convection, the most-rated microwave in this data at 4.4 from 6,915 ratings, is 9% off. LG's 20 litre solo, 4.2 from 1,986, is 4% off — Rs. 7,889 against a stated Rs. 8,199, a Rs. 310 saving.

The two deep badges on this shelf both belong to Midea, at 51% and 50%, and both list against MRPs of roughly double the selling price. Its 24 litre convection at Rs. 9,990 and 28 litre at Rs. 11,999 are rated 5.0 from a single rating each. One rating is not evidence in either direction, and it is worth knowing that the only two microwaves here priced like the OTG shelf are also the two nobody has rated.

Amazon's search cards show one rating and one rating count per listing, but on this aisle several brands display the same pair across models that are not the same appliance. Pigeon's 9 litre, 20 litre and 50 litre OTGs all show 3.4 from 7,617 ratings. All three Cadlec OTGs show 3.8 from 1,516. Both Wonderchef OTGs show 3.8 from 2,890.

That is variant grouping, and it is not a fault we are alleging against any brand — it is how the listing is structured when models sit under one parent product. But it changes what the number means. A 7,617-rating score attached to a Rs. 1,749 nine-litre oven is not 7,617 people rating that nine-litre oven, and a shopper reading the card has no way to see the split.

Where a figure in this page's tables is shared across a brand's models, we have marked it “brand-wide” rather than reproducing it as a per-model score. The ratings we would treat as genuinely per-model on this aisle are the ones on single-listing brands: Morphy Richards 20R at 3.6 from 99, Faber's 20L at 4.0 from 237, Bajaj's 20L at 3.9 from 185.

Nine listings in the original 82 stated a maximum retail price at almost exactly 100 times the selling price. Faber's 29 litre microwave at Rs. 16,990 showed a stated MRP of Rs. 16,99,000. Elica's 22 litre built-in at Rs. 29,990 showed Rs. 29,99,000. Faber's 82 litre built-in at Rs. 49,799 showed Rs. 49,79,900. Each one renders as a 99% off badge.

A Rs. 17 lakh domestic microwave does not exist, so this is a decimal-point defect in the listing data rather than a discount anyone is offering, and we say so rather than reproducing a 99% badge as though it were real. We have no way to tell from outside whether the error sits with the seller's feed or elsewhere, and we allege nothing about any brand named.

All nine were removed before computing a single figure on this page. It is the same pattern our Amazon water purifier page documented on a different aisle, which suggests it is a feed-level problem rather than a one-off.

Under Rs. 3,000 the aisle is entirely small OTGs, 9 to 12 litres, which will toast and grill and bake one small tin. The Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 6,000 band is the largest at 17 listings and is where the practical 19 to 28 litre OTGs sit.

The first microwave does not appear until Rs. 4,890, and the first microwave with a rating count worth reading is IFB's 24 litre solo at Rs. 8,790 (4.5 from 3,139). Convection microwaves — the ones that can bake as well as reheat, and so are the real alternative to an OTG — start at Rs. 9,990 and cluster between Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 20,000.

Above Rs. 20,000 you are mostly buying built-in units that need cabinetry, from Rs. 36,690 up to Rs. 60,990. Those seven listings carry a median 30% badge, but four of the nine defective 99% MRPs we removed were also built-ins, so treat stated MRPs in this band with particular care.
