Two hundred and fifty-seven diaper listings read on one afternoon. One pant runs from Rs. 6.10 to Rs. 161.30, and the number on the bag is set by the count rather than the rate.
We read two hundred and fifty-seven unique non-sponsored diaper listings on amazon.in on 12 September 2026, and the shelf turns out to be priced in a way that hides the only number that matters. A diaper is sold as a bag - Rs. 252, Rs. 499, Rs. 2,699 - and the bag price is set mostly by how many pants are inside it. Divide one by the other and a single pant runs from Rs. 6.10 to Rs. 161.30. Three listings on this page carry an identical Rs. 499 sticker and contain 66, 26 and 25 diapers.
Every price below was pulled from Amazon on September 12, 2026 and checked against the MRP on the listing. Stack them with the live codes on our Amazon coupons page, which the deals desk re-verifies daily.

First: divide before you compare. Price divided by the pack count is the only number that puts two diaper listings side by side, and Amazon prints its own version of it in small type where a struck-through MRP would normally sit - our calculation matched it in all 129 checkable cases. Second: compare within one size only. A newborn pant is smaller and cheaper to make than an XL, so the cheapest rates on any diaper shelf are newborn packs by construction; the spread worth acting on is the roughly two-to-one gap inside a single band. Third: check the ladder rather than assuming it - the Huggies size L carton beats its own 32-count bag by thirteen percent, but MamyPoko's 93-count newborn pack is dearer per pant than its own 42-count. Fourth: ignore the badge here, because there almost is not one - only nine of 257 listings showed a real MRP above the selling price, the same near-total absence we found on Amazon's grocery shelves.

A diaper aisle is priced in bags — Rs. 252, Rs. 499, Rs. 2,699 — and the bag price is set mostly by how many pants are inside it. So every card here leads with the number the pack never prints in a readable size: the cost of one pant, which is the selling price divided by the count stated in the title. Across the 129 listings where that division is possible and checkable, one pant runs from Rs. 6.10 to Rs. 161.30.
On consumables amazon.in prints a per-unit rate on the tile, in the slot where a struck-through MRP would normally sit. On this shelf that figure is the price of one pant. Before relying on it we divided the selling price by the pack count ourselves for every listing that states both, and our figure matched Amazon's printed rate in all 129 cases we could check. Listings with no parseable count, or with a count under twenty, are excluded from every figure here.
This is the correction that most per-unit shopping advice skips. A newborn pant uses less material than an XL pant, so the cheapest per-piece listings on any diaper shelf are newborn packs by construction, and calling them “the best value” would be meaningless for a fourteen-kilo toddler. The chapters below are therefore grouped by size band. The finding is that even inside a single band the spread is roughly 2x — that is a real choice, where the gap between bands is mostly physics.
It usually is, and it is not a rule. Huggies Complete Comfort Wonder Pants in size L costs Rs. 10.54 a pant in the 256-count carton and Rs. 12.16 in the 32-count bag — the carton is thirteen percent cheaper per pant. But MamyPoko's All Night Absorb newborn runs the other way: Rs. 6.10 a pant in the 42-pack and Rs. 6.28 in the 93-pack. Both ladders are on this page, priced, so you can see that the only way to know is to divide.
Amazon pools ratings across listings it treats as variants of one product, so the same sample reappears on different packs — MamyPoko's 42-count and 93-count newborn bags both display 24,368 ratings. That means a big number does not always belong to the exact pack you are looking at. Several packs here carry genuinely thin samples — one rating, sixteen, thirty-four, sixty-three — and we say so on the card instead of printing a star average as though it settled anything.
In this read of 257 unique non-sponsored listings on 12 September 2026, the cheapest single pant was Rs. 6.10 — a MamyPoko All Night Absorb newborn pack, 42 pants for Rs. 256. Two other newborn packs sat within twenty paise of it: a MamyPoko 93-count at Rs. 6.28 a pant and a Bumtum 40-count at Rs. 6.30. Those are all newborn sizes, which are the cheapest per piece on any diaper shelf because the pant is smaller. If you need a larger size, the floors we found were Rs. 7.61 a pant in medium, Rs. 7.65 in large and Rs. 9.22 in extra large. Prices change daily and the live listing is authoritative.
Divide the pack price by the number of pants stated in the title — a 68-count bag at Rs. 621 is Rs. 9.13 a pant. Amazon also prints this figure for you on most diaper tiles, in the slot where a struck-through MRP normally sits; on consumables that second number is a per-unit rate, not an MRP. We checked our own division against Amazon's printed rate on every listing that showed both, and the two agreed in all 129 cases. The one thing to watch is the count itself: two packs from the same brand and line can differ by a couple of pants while keeping an identical shelf price.
No. It usually is, but this read found it running both ways. Huggies Complete Comfort Wonder Pants in size L works out at Rs. 10.54 a pant in the 256-count monthly carton against Rs. 12.16 in the 32-count bag — thirteen percent cheaper, or roughly Rs. 415 across the carton. But MamyPoko's All Night Absorb newborn is Rs. 6.10 a pant in the 42-count pack and Rs. 6.28 in the 93-count, so the larger bag is the dearer rate there. Both listings were read in the same session. The only reliable method is to divide each pack yourself before choosing.
Because a shelf price in India is often held steady while the count moves. On this page a TEDDYY newborn pack, a Mylo medium pack and a Coddle Up large pack all sell for Rs. 499 and contain 66, 26 and 25 pants — Rs. 7.56, Rs. 19.19 and Rs. 19.96 a pant. Part of that gap is size (a large pant costs more to make than a newborn one) and part is line positioning, since two of the three are sold as premium products. A familiar-looking price point is easier to keep than to explain, so the count is what gives.
Almost none of them do. Of the 257 unique non-sponsored listings in this read, only nine displayed a figure above the selling price — that is, a genuine struck-through MRP with a percentage attached. Everything else showed no badge at all, which is why this page ignores discounts and prices the pant instead. Two separate things are worth not confusing: the per-unit rate Amazon prints on the tile is not a discount, and the price printed on the pack photograph itself (one bag here reads “Rs. 399/- Only” while selling at Rs. 256) is the manufacturer's own pack price rather than an Amazon offer.
