Sadly, I have had an awful experience with Uber. Our masks in our hotel room were forgotten by my fiancé and I. When the Uber driver entered the vehicle, he questioned whether we had masks. My fiancée replied that we haven't forgotten our companion, but that he would rush fast (1 minute) to the front desk and take two and excuse us. We couldn't get out of the car and the Uber driver started pulling. Then he began to verbalise aggressively that we need mask and why. Then we reminded him again that we could leave the car and cancel the journey before we went out of the parking lot. He wouldn't let us go."This is an overall conversation," he added verbalement in an angry tone. Hold on to talk & hear." It was not an unsuitable talk I took well and the tone was established from the beginning of the journey. He then harassed us on the journey.
I booked a cab from Cyberhub to Sector-5, Gurgaon. The cab was booked at 11:00 AM on 19th Feb 2021. On the live tracking, it displayed that the driver is about 10 minutes away. So, I had to wait for 10 minutes. I sat inside the food court and waited for the driver to arrive.
After 10 minutes, it still displayed that the cab is about 10 minutes away. However, there was not much traffic on the roads because it is Saturday and most of the offices have a day off. I contacted the driver but he didn’t pick the call. I waited for another 2-3 minutes and tried his number again.
After trying for about 5-7 times, he picked the call. The driver after picking up started shouting that ‘can’t you wait for some time, I am stuck in the traffic’! I told him that I called you to confirm only that where are you and how much time it will take! He disconnected the call.
I waited for another 15 minutes but when nobody arrived, I cancelled the ride and complained about the driver. It was such a terrifying experience that I couldn’t even trust in Uber again. I do not recommend anybody to use Uber!
The cab driver made me wait for half an hour and still didn’t show up at the location!
I had booked a cab from Pacific Mall to Janakpuri District Centre via UBER. After the booking was confirmed, I received driver details. I contacted the driver to know his arrival timings because the app was hanging and shuts. The driver told me that there is traffic in Janakpuri and he is stuck near Janakpuri East metro station.
I was waiting inside the mall for the driver because the cancellation will cost me a lot. I checked the maps to get notified about the traffic. I had called the driver around 1:15 PM and it is 1:30 PM now. Though the traffic was now clear, I couldn’t see him moving.
I dialled his number again and he didn’t pick the call. After trying for about 7-8 times, he picked the call and yelled at me. He said that can’t I wait for a few minutes! I disconnected the call. I waited till 2 PM and when he didn’t show up, I cancelled the ride.
After cancellation, cancellation charges of Rs. 50 were imposed on me, which I got waived off by contacting the customer care and reporting the issue. Then, I took an auto in just Rs. 30, which was cheaper than the cab. Besides, I reached within a few minutes and there was no traffic.
Highly disappointed!
Uber services have been the most ambivalent kind of local cab services I’ve seen. The services were good at the beginning, but as my travel rides continued - I was met to some really annoying experiences from Uber, facing several issues.
Today I was booking this Uber GO (screenshot is given below), to one of my relative’s houses. It was all good to arrive at the right time. But out of the blues, the application started showing system errors and wasn’t able to function properly. So I went ahead and call the support team at the contact (800) 353-8237, and they say the contact number is for emergency purposes, used to be only in the urgency matters. The conclusion given was ‘it will resolve soon by itself’. I couldn’t do anything for a while, I rebooted the phone and it worked properly only after that. This has happened frequently now.
I booked the Uber Go for DSK Madhuban Wing A for a total amount of Rs. 130.25, reaching the spot with a dirty driver who was eating a strong paan. The smell was terrible. Although, it lasted less. But it was not good at all Uber.
It’s like, if at any point, somehow I’ll start to feel good for your services, you’ll be coming up with something else right the next moment to say on my face - “we are annoying”.

So, today my car wasn’t available and therefore I had to book a cab from Rajouri Garden to Gurugram. I have observed that the prices of the cab mostly depends upon the timings on which the cabs are booked.
On comparing the prices of the prices on which the service is offered by Uber with other service providers, I noticed that the amount here (at Uber) was considerably less. After checking the same, I booked “Uber Premier” and the cab arrived at the pick-up spot within 5 minutes. The amount that I was supposed to pay at the end of the trip was Rs.447/-
The journey went totally smooth. The driver followed the maps very strictly and did not deviate from the route. Since I opted for online payment, the amount was deducted from the account automatically after the ride.
